Brador's door and the door at the bottom of the giant staircase are quest related. Did you talk to the blobhead near the elevator shortcut? The rest of the doors after Ludwig need a key found in the Research Hall. You have to move the staircase first, or you can jump to it before then

Most likely scenario is that whoever got that gem was just subject to divine RNG. It came from Isz, but Nourishing in Isz is rare enough as it is. Not to mention, getting an offshape and a usable curse alongside that.

Lower Pthumeru L2 lever guardian, the Watcher with the flaming club. He has a chance of dropping cursed gems.
Early triangles come from Hintertomb, but it's your call if it's worth it to go there for a single gem. The user who found Lumpy also find a Madman named Clarence. I've never farmed this Madman, so I don't know much else.

Put it in a Saw Spear and use it for specialized fire beast hunting.

Aside from the curse (which is only situationally a minor inconvenience) that gem is really nice. It'll be really good for PvP and killing hotdog. Pretty sure you got the highest rolls for % and flat damage.
