Let's continue to have civil discussions and be kind to each other my dudes

...

...

Remember that it is alright to make mistakes as long as you try to amend them or better yourself as a person in the future.

So my ilvl is 250 right now, if I want to do alex savage, will I need to farm dun scaith for 260 gear?
is there even a point in doing this with stormblood coming out so soon, should I just use this time leveling another job?

...

That would be lovely. I really like the aesthetic of PLD but I've never played a tanking class before in XIV. I've heard it's mostly about damage mitigation, but how stressful is enmity generation early on, and should I be mashing any buttons in particular?

Better off just leveling stuff honestly.

Finally an edition for my kind. Post normies music.

So I can't get to the ul'dah place to change to gladiator. Guess i'll try archery since I can change to that.

paladin is really annoying in the beginning because you get your tank stance so late. it's really easy after you get the tank stance and more abilities but prepare to suffer.

suffering is totally worth the aesthetic and when you hit 50 it's pretty easy to tank. try not to stress about it and just do your best, just get practice in here and there

youtube.com/watch?v=ZkqyIoYAXV8

PLD while leveling has really bad aggro generation, mostly because they dont get their tank stance until way later compared to the other tanks (40 instead of 30). Once you get to 50ish aggro gen isnt too big of a deal in dungeons as long as your gear is adequate and you're paying attention. Mitigation is plentiful in this game and mob pulls can hurt more than bosses, so rotating cooldowns while pulling mobs is a good idea. Outside of that it's just getting comfortable with the fights, don't be afraid to ask questions or look things up.

15 is when you unlock the MSQ to go to other towns, if you want to stick it out until then. archer gets fun around 48 when you get a proc reset on your dots.

Paladin looks really cool and will look even cooler in Stormblood with the wing shit. Up until level 50 you have your 1-2-3 rotation, some damage debuffs and some really cool animations, but the class/job is pretty boring/simple. I don't really care because I play the class for the aesthetic of it and I am really happy with the upcoming changes to it in Stormblood. I'd say if you like how it looks, go for it.

>have no crafters leveled
>only make like 50k gil per day
this is fucking suffering

o. can't do that either. gotta hit 10. rip
I'm just trying to find something I find fun. lancer isn't doing me any favours

How long would it take to get a NIN from level 40 to level 60, and a PGL from level 22 to MNK level 60? Planning on just spamming POTD and beast tribe quests. How many runs a day would you think I'd have to do to have them both by Stormblood early access? I don't want to miss out on the exclusive dialogue like I did with DRG in Heavensward.

Like we said in the other thread, nothing is really gonna be fun for the first 30 levels. Take the time to enjoy the music/scenery/exploration. It's pretty good

Thanks very much, everyone.

around level 15-20 you unlock all the cities so just level whatever you have now and go for it later. for paladin (gladiator upgrade) you'll need 15 conjurer so if you're in the same place as the archer's guild you could pick up that?

shouldn't take too long, if you go hard you can probably do 40-60 in one day if you literally just spam it over and over but. you WILL get sick of it though but there's not really any rush since there's like 3 weeks until stormblood. i suggest doing like 5 levels per day for each of them so you dont end up wantign to kill yourself

levelling crafters and gatherers is piss easy now that leves get double exp. get leveling, friend

Is it opposite day? What the fuck is this thread

It's so nice

I tried to play through steam. Awhile ago but it wouldn't download any patches. Any solutions? Would buying it directly from the website work?

Just do the GC handins, they're really convenient for slow, but steady progress.

Yes, but you'll have to start a new account if I recall correctly.

it's early euro time

Injecting some wholesome memes into things never hurts.

Does it give you any sort of error message?

I don't recall what it was but I was trying to configure dns settings and finding very little results or other people with the same issue.

Good points, thanks user. I'm not really good at melee classes so I would rather do POTD than anything else like leveling roulette so I don't drag others down too hard. I'll go the slow route. Gonna be on a lot more for the Make It Rain campaign anyway.

Yes, don't forget the Grand Company turnins, also the Ixal beast tribe quests are extremely useful for this. Got my WVR from level 15 to lvl 50 very easily with them. Just be careful and remember to click off the crafting debuffs they give you sometimes, or you can accidentally double stack them and make it impossible for you to craft anything.

It's normies edition. NEETs and weebs can't post.

Oh you got that error

You need either a vpn or someone to upload their folder for you, it's super fucking lame. I don't know why SE hasn't found a fix for it. IIRC it doesn't help to download through not steam

No one can out poopy the poopycat

So I basically need to get someone's patch files?

Yeah basically

Since it euro time tell me about FLAT already
!

Thanks square for actively denying the money I want to give you.

Shall we welcome even more baddies to roam the land with jump potions

>leves get double exp now
w-what?

euro time is always very pleasant, same with the euros i meet in game from the thread (usually)

They're always either super nice or super angry when I see them. I guess there's nothing to be super angry about right now though.

Yup, only takes 2-3 leves per level at 45-50

You really shouldn't skip your English classes.

People can't play their own classes most of the time anyway. Can't get much worse.

Gathering leves up to level 50 are double-exp from what they were a few months ago.

Crafting leves are still the same, but levekits are really cheap right now so you can spend 300k and get a crafter to level 50 in like an hour or two.

>never been a class specialist
>always bounce between jobs to fit raid needs
>never had that hype for your main on patch days

Think it's time I settled down.

I don't have them

Guys the thread is so nice, please don't ruin it.

Is it worth doing crafting leves post-50, or should I just use moogle dailies for that?

If you have the money to spend and you want a 60 now, crafting leves are viable. They are extremely hard to do with level appropriate gear however, so if you do end up doing leves it's likely you will want a friend to help you or buy it.

Moogle Dailies and GC turnins are EXTREMELY good. Never skip a starred GC turnin. It's like 1.5 to 2 mil EXP from 57+

Moogle dailies are about 60% of a level a day, so take that as you will depending on how many you want to level before stormblood. Leves are still good, but collectibles aren't half bad if you want to save leves to 60-70

Moogle Dailies are absolutely insane EXP (don't forget to make the item high quality even if its not required, the item wont come out high quality but you get more EXP if the quality bar is filled), plus you get free glass fibers and fun lore about Zenith and dragons and stuff!

I think one of the best things about playing multiple jobs is that you get to be EXTRA excited on patch days and when they make big announcements.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind.

Has anyone here switched from playing with controller to playing with a G13 + G600? How long did it take you to adapt, and did you actually like the gamepad/mmo mouse better?

>keep missing nodes
>accidentally uncover an extra slot on a node
>use the wrong rotation
>spend red scrips on the wrong things
>[4:11]You obtain nothing.
haha gathering is so fun

Don't think I could play without a g600, this thing is amazing.

dumb cat

user, this is the nice thread...

Is hitting the buttons comfortable for you? I have small hands but even so it seems like it'd be hard to hit all of them.

Ragnarok-c@ still needs a lovely Au-Ra gf or just someone to play the game with... I'm going to level a tank after this last level of BLM, would be boring to do it alone again

Please do not shitpost in this nice thread we are having.

Hitting the farther ones took some time to get used to, but after a year or so it's second nature to the point where I'd quit if I couldn't use it probably.

i like to meow as a boy, with other boys!!

>the thread is so nice
Not on my watch.

Can you leave? Try during na hours

Not gamepad/mmo mouse but I've been using an mmo mouse for weeks now
I have my all my actions bound to the mouse and I only really use control and shift to access the other actions.
It's alright but I still make mistakes and it takes me a while to get used to a job, so I try limit it to two jobs.
Pic related, it's my current hotbar setup.

Did you not say you transfered to play with a friend. Play with them. I would have played with you but I'm on Odin.

Eu nice post

EU post

Just stay away from my meowbois, you blueberry.

no they're all mine

Seto...

Should I start doing anima quests?

Hie what's up

You're cute...

Thanks, I guess

only guess..?

>used to have more of those level 50 tomestones than I knew what to do with
>spent them on useless shit, since I was breaking the cap anyways

>leveling ninja
>want some cyber daggers to go with my cyber ninja, as a glamour if necessary
>run out of tomestones

Also, this game needs a cyber bikini top. A regular bikini top really doesn't go great with my cyber ninja.

That's right, but he doesn't play all that often. Still a step up from knowing no-one though!

but i'm EU...

sky rat top?

STOP IT

THE THREAD IS REALLY NICE

STOP THIS

I already know I will regret asking this but what's a cyber bikini top supposed to be?

How did you guys decide on what crafting job to specialize in? I finally got one to 55 with moogle dailies, but I'm unsure which ones to go with.

A black armor bikini top with glowing blue lights, like the rest of the costume.

It was an easy choice for, I love swords and armors so I went with full smithing autism.

Think of something like Yellow Heart's 2-piece.

I got goldsmith up since I figured it had a wideish range of customers, but overall I fucking hate crafters and gatherers so I just have it there to sell mid-level rings for quick gil.

Friendly reminder reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/6blkd2/dps_difficulty_comparing_parse_data_to_poll/

Cats?

>image

I'm confused as to why that metric matters. Shouldn't they be focusing on the overall damage output of the job?

Redpill me on Gyalva Guillen

Nice, chill person.

Anyway user, what is it that you like the most about the game?

You wish, creep.

Theyre a nice draknfriend

BLM has the biggest fuck up potential sans maybe monk if you're absolutely braindead. BRD is also played by support shitters and actually has some decent depth to it. NIN/MCH/SMN all have lower playerbases as well so the disparity isnt going to be as noticable as the people who play them as mains will generally be doing better.

In what order should I level these? Also do I have any chance of getting them to 60 before Stormblood if I start now?

>the people who play them as mains will generally be doing better.
Wow it's like that's exactly what he was saying.

CUL to 37, WVR and CRP to 50(progress with moogle dailies), and you can do the rest in any order. You can do it with leves if you're capped, but don't forget to do Ixal dailies, too. There are a few guides floating around where you can grind through a few crafting jobs without leves, but it's expensive if you don't have your gatherers leveled.

You can get them all easily to 60 before SB but probably not 100% via leves. You would have to do the "craft yourself your own levekits to reap the exp bonus" route.
Cul ->37, Weaver -> 50, Carp -> 50 and then whatever you want to do from there since this will give you Steady hand 2 -> Careful synth 2 -> Byregots.

>huton + haste floor in potd
I'M GOING SO FAST

>you will never be as desperate for attention as Aika is
