Played GBF a year ago and had to drop it because of old time constraints, was thinking I wanted to pick it up again. Mind pointing me in the right direction as to what to do with my team? I have the old Fire squad, but never maxed them out. I have an LB1 Athena and an MLB Odin for reference.

Should I try to ticket Amira and someone else as they pop up for Odin memes, or work on Fire? Is Fire good yet?

Fire used to be a joke, but with the advent of Shiva, a summon with 120%/140% aura, they shot up to being fairly strong on the whale tier. Percival and Yuel are great, Clarisse can be used for her defense shred, and Percival appreciates her passive. Dunno about hot potato, but people like using her. There's currently a fire event going on, and it'll be a neat chance to get a free SR fire unit and some SSR fire spears/axes.

I saw that Ifrit event, I probably can't get any of the unknowns, but that's okay. I'm working off a pretty shit weapon grid it seems, but at least I have the Suzaku katana and an old uncapped Unknown.

No. Shiva affects F2P and whale in exact same way. Fire magna is very good if you choose Shiva as support. You can leech raids to get one 0* axe, it will be well worth it.
Read up on mechanics when you have more time.

They're still a little low on the magna/f2p scale of things, but they're held in a better light now. That's mostly because SSR Colossus Canes kinda suck, but we're forced to use them anyway. There's some SSR weapons that can be dropped by Twin Elements and Athena that might just make the grid better.

Clarisse isn't all that great, but I enjoy using her for her Mode Break 3rd skill. It really eats up Tiamat Omega. Since she's mostly used as a placebo buff to Percival's Petrify, people mostly use other characters over her. Regarding the Xeno Ifrit event: You can acquire Ifrit spears for cheap there. They are complete shit, and inferior to the Ray of Zhuque, but they'll make decent filler until you get your page up to speed. I highly recommend leeching some xeno ifrit raids with spare beads so you can make at least one Flame Scythe. Story events like Naoise's reward use with damascus crystals. You can get 3 an event, and 10 become an ingot, which can be used to uncap any SSR weapon. You usually need a ton of honors to get them though.
