So I'm pretty new to fighting games, I only attempted to play some SF4 and Skullgirls in the past. I just bought Injustice 2 and have been fucking about in training mode.
As far as I understand it, even in a brand new game like this, there are no "new" players online. What should I be doing/working on in the coming days before going online

There are plenty of new players in IJ2. Only the niche ones don't get the new players. If you join one of the IJ2 discords just ask around looking to play with a fellow new user and play a ton of games with them to learn, then play ranked.
Before that pick a character you want to main first, maybe look up a guide for them, find moves you want to poke with and a bnb combo or two, something that's easy to confirm off a poke, and something that will be used for maximum damage to punish stupid stuff your opponent did.
But yeah find a discord and look for new people, or just do ranked as there are new players doing ranked anyways.
Makoto makes for the best pair for the best games.

Since some user asked in the other thread - here's the screencap. All things regarding TFH belong on /mlp/, unfortunately.
I had an idea for a character like this before.
His normals do extremely low damage (Like, each hit does 1 damage and characters have 500HP)
He has a counter special move that disables the button you hit him with.
He has a teleport special.
He has a healing special.
He has a special that reduces the timer by 5.
He has a super that adds your health and your opponent's health then divides it between both players.
He has a super that cuts the timer in half.
I thought it was clever and would make for a neat gimmick in an anime game, but then I realized it'd be the worst mirror match ever.
Sold Injustice 2 for £32 at CEX today lads. Only made a loss of £8 buying off Amazon.
Luckily, they also bought my ancient copy of MKXL that I bought on sale for £11 so I made an overall profit.
Think I'll use it to get a cheap Tekken 7 steam key and the Rev2 upgrade.
