Get em while they're cheap if you want one.

They're Australian, which makes them better than any American offering for a start.

Yes. It's a rebadged Holden Commodore, one of the greatest hoonmobiles in the world, and it's powered by The Actual Greatest Engine Ever Madeā„¢.

Are you talking about the l76 Which is like 90% of the current market or the ls3 in the Gxp that Pontiac only managed to make 1000 of before going bankrupt?

Pretty sure it's an l98 in the VE commodore though the VE HSVs have an LS2.
whats the difference with the l98 and l76?

oh never mind, l76 can run on 4 cylinders is the difference.

362 hp in America as an l76 and 404 in the Gxp version with an ls3

You have to remember her in burgeand we only had them around for 2 ish years

Not counting the Pontiac gto that was discontinued in place forn the g8

Which are both Aussie platforms

Ahhhh the late GTO...

Decent car that somehow ruined the GTO name.

Find one without rust and you're golden.

They are.
Solid motor, solid trans.
Rear end is meh but relatively fine for 400-600hp through an auto.
Comfy and decent interior quality.
They're cheap right now. Guarantee they'll be one of the cars to climb in value or at minimum hold their value in the next 5-10 years.

>cheap
Lol. GXPs are still the same price as when they were new.

I think a GTO or first gen CTS-V would be better. For some reason the G8 has been more expensive yet doesn't even have a LS2. Both of these alternatives are much more common with manual (all CTS-V from 2004-07 are manual)

>just want to get a professionals opinion.
he says while on the vehicle section of a chinese cartoon board

G8 is more expensive because it's a better car. GT has a L76 (LS2 block, LS3 heads/intake, DoD) and GXP has a LS3. If a manual is a must then yeah a GTO might be a better bet.

In GT form, yes. Only if you don't mind automatic.

>just want to get a professionals opinion.

>355hp

And 385 lb-ft of torque. It's choked bad from the factory. Intake, exhaust and a tune wake these up a lot.

What about G6s? Are G6 GTs any good for a starter car?

>Opel Omega almost became THE V8 European Hoonmobile but some German faggot pulled the plug
ITS NOT FAIR
ITS JUST NOT FAIR

>just want to get a professionals opinion.

you're better off getting a cobalt ss/sc

>tfw the Caprice and G8 are no longer sold, Holden is to be killed off, and the Chevy SS will be discontinued.
I just want some Strayan muscle cars you cunts.

It's your own fault

GM did fuckall to market the G8 and SS.
Add to the fact that the G8 released just before a recession and it was doomed to fail.
The Charger succeeds while the G8 and SS don't because FCA was willing to keep pushing them and willing to put money into marketing them.
That, and they don't have three other sedan models under their own brand to compete with it.
