You're not wrong, my family owned different ones three while I was growing up with the last one being given to me as my first car (One of them was an early model, mine and one of the others were about the same year as the one you linked) I miss the thing, and honestly I might buy it back, the same guy I sold it too six or so years back now still owns it, doesn't use it that much either so he'd probably let it go, want it back at least for trips into the woods, sucked too much gas for daily stuff around here.

Also what this user said.

orlando.craigslist.org/cto/d/honda-prelude-si-1993-trade/6265944905.html

shitboxes aside, what about this prelude? 160k miles and looks like it's in pretty decent shape.

forgot link orlando.craigslist.org/cto/d/honda-prelude-sh/6290490074.html

That IS super expensive for what you get. The poor thing has damage of one sort or another on literally every panel. It would be a prohibitively expensive restoration because of that so it's either a parts truck or a backwoods beater and the best part of $4000 is far too much for that.

Why shouldn't offer to meet him, have honda dealership mechanic look it over and tell me what it will take to get it running, and buy this turd?

no reason, a nice tune up and some paint and it would be a pretty cool car

What does it mean when someone posts multiple craigslist ads for the same car ?

Theyre stupid

Asking too much but looks good

Is it something that would indicate something fishy like a scam or does it mean the seller does not know how to update the ad ?

Aquila kit car.

hey i used to live there

anyway, thats an awesome find. a manual transmission v6?! hell yea!!

lol, what a failure

whats the best place in the country to shop for older cars? Should be a low humidity place that never snows, but also not some wealthy area that knows they can squeeze out an extra $1000+

hmmm.... could be something really simple. Or maybe it is really busted. But either way, 800 for a late 80s 3 door hatch with under 80k miles? how the hell can I say no?

on the other had, it's a literal shitbox 3-speed auto from the worst days of Hyundai

I feel as though wealthy people don't really care about trying to get a small extra buck from a used car since they already have so much money. But i think its best to not buy in the Salt Belt and especially not in new york.

This is really a beautiful one

What's the worst you could expect with it being a non-op and all?

Different user but is 4.3k really too much for an SH? KBB in my area seems to put them close to 5-6k if they're in good condition.

Everything to make it start is broken. Ignition switch, starter, Probably some shit with the engine like engine mounts. Might be a fuel pump. Engine could be at the end of its life and you would need a new one. For not running, $1500 is a little high. I would pay no more than $1000.

I bought a black, 88 Accord lxi coupe for 800 bucks off of craigslist lol. Thing is a pile of fun shit.

austin.craigslist.org/cto/d/great-1998-toyota-supra-turbo/6291872951.html
>I was tempted to offer 4000 with an extra 1000 to repair and replace shit
Thoughts on the 88 turbo supra ?

It'll need the headgasket done if it hasn't already been done. The 7m is notorious for that. I guess the torqued it down incorrectly from the factory and unless it's been replaced, and when replaced done correctly, it'll go. Valve covers always leak on them no matter what, not really an issue. That could be the oil leak. You could always swap a 1jz in it since the car already has the r154.

Besides that just little stupid things. Like the ad says, you probably can't run the a/c,

That tan interior actually looks pretty fly.

Offer him 2500. If he bargains you can get it for 2800 if he gets pissed then offer him 3000.

I hope you know the engine is super cramped and hard to work on and its gonna need a new timing belt.

How much do you think that'd add up too?
The parts hard to find for this car too ?
Thanks for the well thought out reply too

That's only a few hours from me. Fuck, that'd be one of the best ways to spend a couple grand if I had a couple grand to spend

2700-2900 or so was what I was thinking, since I figured going down about 30% seemed like a hell of a lowball, even though that's closer to the market values I was seeing on them.

>the engine is super cramped and hard to work on and its gonna need a new timing belt
That's a shame. Do 300zx's need a lot of work or are they generally lower-maintenance? I'm not too good with a wrench so I might end up sending it over to a shop for anything intensive.

inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/d/1993-toyota-mr2/6292723744.html
High up there in mileage but jesus fuck a 93 mr2 tubro for under 10
Why shouldn't I just buy this tomorrow?

I don't think they're too hard for things like head gaskets, but there's some items that cost stupid money that only toyota sells. I don't have an example though. Bushings aren't hard to find as far as I know.

The cost to do the headgasket? I'm not sure, if you do it yourself just the cost of arp headstudds, a metal head gasket and I guess machining the head?

People seem to say if you're taking it to a mechanic for work you'll go broke. So unless you're planning on doing some work on it yourself I wouldn't get it. If you have a bit of disposable income and you can work on cars I'd say get it for sure. Ask if they've done the head gasket and if so, make sure they have proof. To fix it I think you need the arp head studs and metal head gasket torqued correctly. I think the manual says 72 and it was supposed to be 90lbs.

It seems really clean and you could have the front and rear bumper painted, probably around 800 to paint that. It seems like most are usually trashed.

If you have the cash you should

Is it too good to be true?

an old 7 series isn't worth anything.

there was once a description on here that if you owned a miata for a year, and every time you started it you disabled a random electronic feature, and every time you stopped it you threw $10 out the window, then that's what owning an old 3 series is like.

Take a 3 series and do the same thing you did in the miata, that's owning a 7 series

Not craigslist but even if it needed a new engine that makes 5 grand, maybe another $500 to get a road worthy and registration and you could sell it for 7.5-10k, thats 2-4k profit for maybe a weeks work in your spare time or two or three days if you go at it.

Probably the former since everyone on craigslist is a bunch of inconsiderate cunts.

Can anyone recommend something for me on the cincinnati craigslist?

I am struggling to find a car that suits my needs and could use some help, Veeky Forums.

Budget: $8,000

Requirements: Manual transmission, needs to be able to easily haul stuff (like hockey equipment, skis, DIY project stuff)

Preference: Not a huge fan of pickup trucks, am leaning more towards enclosed SUV, wagon, hatchback, or a 'different' (non-normie) sedan.
