Hi, I have about $15,000 saved up. Any advice on what I should invest in? I got some shares in Apple $5000 AUD which have gone up to $6500 US - around $8500. So, I might put $15,000 in something smart. Any ideas?

I was thinking of putting some in Amazon or Berkshire Hathaway, only because the latter is down 800%

What kind of goal are you going for? Seems like you just want to dump and forget about it for a while. You can throw it in an index fund.

What are you looking at?

BTC and ICN for mad gains

I was reading an article, am I wrong? I might go for an index fund. Yes, I just want to put it somewhere then come back to it.

Can you post the article? Both BRK A and BRK B are down like 0.32% today. I'm not sure where this numbet is coming from.

I don't know where I got -800 from, haha. My bad.

What are BTC and ICN?

BTC bitcoin 2 for 4000 AUD. Is it really worth it? Hm.

Sorry 2 for $2000

Im having a bad day with numbers.

BTC is bitcoin, and I don't know what ICN is.

If you want an index fund, you could do VTSAX. If you don't have an account with Vanguard, the ETF version of that is VTI. You could also look into SPY, another ETF that tracks the S&P 500. I believe that ETFs vs index fund will boil down to taxes and fees and your comparison between them.

BTC is a different beast. I wouldn't use it as an investment tool, rather a trading tool. And you better know what you are doing because it is a volatile market.

Put $1000 in AC8.AX and forget about it

Thats the worst and best advice here

Sums up my life about right.

how do i get my hands on ICN? there doesn't seem to be any info on their website, unless im blind

I've got 4 grand across 6 Aussie blue chips, and another two in VAS. I'm down about 100 dollars on the shares, minus brokerage. Would I be better off selling the shares at a small loss and dumping it all in VAS?

Sorry, meant to say my loss includes brokerage.

Start a business

How would I go about doing this? I'm a screenwriter.

Start by spending money and getting a useful degree.
