Give me 1 (one) good reason not to use it. Keep in mind that balance concerns are irrelevant since if your autism is too strong to use their ships you can still use the mod as a boss/late-game challenge. Alternatively nerfing it is absurdly easy by just tinkering with the mod files.

Appro is not really strong once you notice how weak the armor/hull of their ships is. just bring an almost full kinetic capital, cannon folder to protect it and you can kill even the boss ships quite easily

Did something actually change with enemy officers in fleets or is it just my ships being even more stupid than usual? I feel like I'm running into a lot more situations where the enemy just tanks me even though I'm using the same loadout as I did in .8

Of course you should, AI pilots are good but they can and should be outsmarted.

In early battles with maybe 1 or 2 ships the AI can normally handle it fine, but later on as you add more ships on it becomes a micromanagement exercise because in reality the AI is really bad at making decisions and it generally can't handle fighting very well

Try to fine your skills in simulator or in battles when flying destroyers and up. AI is ok, but it won't be as aggressive or smart as you are.

The AI has one very substantial problem, and that's the fact that it doesn't respond to situations. It doesn't matter if it's hopelessly outmatched or outsped, it'll still try to chase and fight, before realizing that it can't engage and play footsie with one ship. It doesn't matter if it's outnumbered 6 to 1, it'll still charge into the enemy formation and break away from the rest of the way. In fact, the entire fleet will do this, and because you're pretty much always going to be outnumbered in this game, that means normally, your fleet will also scatter even if you order them to stick to a general area. If you don't take control, eventually you'll run into situations where your fleet kills itself.

Next boss was a trio of coloured Helioses.
Funnily enough, each one came with an ability that overloaded ships in vicinity. All ships. They've overloaded one another and I picked them one by one, while they were helpless. Not to mention that due to this overload ability,
no other ship was firing at me as well because EVERY ship was overloaded. GG DR

Both this and Factorio have given me each hundreds of hours of gameplay and neither are "complete", I don't see why you are factoring in that at all.

So what to do anymore? After you get 2-3 capitals the game is over. No fights EVER can give you any challenge, and boils down to chasing retreating niggas 70% of the times.

Any way to make support ships like atlas, the tanker, tugs, etc.. not count to fleet strength? so i dont get the 60% battlesize bonus due to large fleet when i have like 5-6 combat rated ships?

I go with the shields off most of the time except when hard-hitting missiles are coming, and use every bit of flux I have for superior frontal firepower
