Nah, they definitely have a problem with all their new stuff being overwrought because it's rewards for big accomplishments, but it's still better than korean games. Korean games make you pay through the nose for every outfit and don't usually have mixing and matching.

GW2 still has a really solid base of armor pieces that you can mix and match (admittedly with varying degrees of clipping) with a really expansive dyeing system.

On that same note though, decent connections are kinda needed, though not super required. Turn down settings as much as possible and even a 1mbps connection can sort of work.
