I am a young western euro, and i like Fords and i want a V6 that i can afford (we have HP tax here, so it can't have more than 170HP, because the tax will kill you).

So what do you know about that car.

it's shit.
Do you even know what Ford stands for?
Fix it again, Tony.

Fuck off, GM cuck.

The Mk3 Mondeo is basically a car
that's about all you can say about it. The ST220 was apparently quite good but apart from that there's not much else to write home about

Every single owner that I know tried but failed to kill this car.
It just fucking refuses to die.
Since I'm eastern European everybody is driving around in the 2.0 tdci and the ocassional 1.8 petrol.
The 2.0 tdci is practically made out of concrete. Not fast, not silent, but economical and bulletproof.
Personally I don't like the Mk III that much as it has aged quite abit, but if I wanted a car that will last longer than me, then the Ford Mondeo Mk III would certainly be on the list.
Also, don't buy anything below Ghia or Titanium. For the Mk III price range, you should easily afford one of those trims.
The Ghia is more comfort oriented and less sportiness, whilst the Titanium is more sport and less comfort.

My dad had a Mk3 Ghia 1.8 SCi
it was a total lemon, had continuous timing chain problems and eventually needed getting rid of

That's because your dad bothered to repair it.
An accountant friend of mine still has his beat to shit hand-me-down Mk III 2.0 tdci.
He barely changes the oil every now and then, over-revs it and drives like a retard on purpose.
The car has somewhere like 280k km and it is still going.
Another couple of friends had a Mk II Mondeo. That car had 330k km when it finally got scrapped.
Another friend is some university teacher or some shit and he does a lot of driving on very bad roads, he sometimes even goes off-roading with it in order to reach the sites. His 2.0tdci Mk 3 Mondeo still goes like a champ, even after 240k km of abuse.

These cars aren't supposed to be cared about.

SN95 Mustang obviously

I read about the 2.5 V6 and found out that they are quite durable.
You can even Turbo them, without them leaking or breaking.

>mk2
He had one of those as well, was a salesman for car accessories so he got one in STP racing livery as a company car when I was about 5. It was a fantastic looking thing to a kid as well, although the car apart from that was bone stock I think.
Shame you don't see them much any more, and if you do they have a mile of gaffer tape holding the bumpers on

>170hp
just get a moped

>Mustang
>in yurop

>those mile-long intake plenums
the throttle response must feel like molasses

my old friend's mom had one of these. it was a quick little car.

most Mk II's you still see are indeed rusted to shit, driven by fat 60 year old men with leather caps and moustache. And, for some reasons, most of them are wagons and carrying potatoes, chickens, sheep, construction materials and general vegetables.
But they are always moving.

There's probably some variable geometry fuckery going on in there that makes it look like the runners are a mile long.

The specs aren't that bad.
8.5 sec. from 0-100km/h
Topspeed 225km/h
That's not bad for a car that weighs 1600kg.

The engine in these is half of an Aston Martin V12.

Buy a classic Capri 1.

the st220 is supposedly quite fun but it *might* be an insurance pain because of how rare it is

Yep that's true.
If i get one, than i can always tell the people that my car is half a Aston Martin.
Kek

They are super rare, and to expensive here.

I am also interested into what brurgers and kangaroos think about them, because they never got them.

Info for burger and roo, Mondeo have been sold as Contours and Fusions in your countries.

lmao horsepower tax, what a gay and cucked law. i love being an american

your picture has caption reversed

notice how you only talked about the diesel engine ones?

Little question for the burgers.
What do you think of the Mondeo?
I am just interested of what Americans think of this Euro Ford.
Just want to know if out tastes are really that different.

>inb4 hurr boring FWD econo cuckbox
>meanwhile America's best selling car is the fucking Toyota Camry

Bump

It looks like a ford 500 and it isn't a panther so I don't like it.

Bump

Fix Ot Rgain Dony

Germany is eating those fucking things up

>the most cucked country on the planet is the only one able to truly enjoy American muscle without being cucked by shitty roads, nigger drivers and police

Ironic, isn't it?

Any mustangs in your area? If not then its ok

>nigs and cops
Why do I rarely see a black guy hooning a car? And the cops really let up on traffic laws as of a few years ago. They're more vigilant about drunk driving now; it's why Uber and Lyft took off so well here.

It looks sort of like a Fusion

I prefer the Fiesta and Mustang from Ford, but the Flex is alright. Don't know enough about the rest besides the Focus.

>Since I'm eastern European everybody is driving around in the 2.0 tdci and the ocassional 1.8 petrol.

That`s because they are old shitboxes brought from western Europe for a bargain and they kinda-sorta look like Passats.

My dad had a 2.0 TDCi, it was a nice car, but felt quite heavy, probably because of the factory 17 inch wheels. The injectors on TDCi engines will be kill at around 200k, at least the early ones on mk3 Mondeos, because lol commonrail and they smoke like a motherfucker. Another thing I would worry about is the DMF and the variable vane turbo. The TDDi would be a much better choice.

I have a 1.7 Astra with ~420k on it. The only real problem its had is due to the electricals, not expensive but just annoying. Otherwise its pretty sound.

If you do 120+ anywhere in America and get caught, you're going to jail. That's cruising speed on the Autobahn.

Finns also like Ameribarges a lot.

boring

why dont you get an st220

This is a lie
Only in states like Virginia this might be true, in Texas its just another ticket at worst.

You can get a V6 on the Vectra/Signum too, but those are over 220hp Cadillac ones.

>we have HP tax here, so it can't have more than 170HP, because the tax will kill you

>all this US butthurt about a car they never got to drive
Fords like this are designed by bongs, engineered by germans and built by belgians.
They will last.
Mondeos were built for everyone and that means they're comfy.
Unlike focuses they don't feel cheap and they're nice to drive for longer distances. MK3 mondeo is pretty cool, it's heavy but comfy. GHIA models may have some minor electrical issues but otherwise they are idiot proof.
Issues to look out for? well since you're in the west, rust isn't a problem for you so there isn't really a reason why you shouldn't get one. Estate models have a inherited disease with boot hatches(locks not opening), sedan models are free from it afaik.
Diesels are stronk and heavy. And loud, after driving one for a few years you'll never complain about any petrol car being noisy. It isn't too bad, you'll get used to it. Petrol models aren't as common for some reason, can't really tell much about them apart from the fact that they base on the old Ford Zeta engine that was used by mk5 escort and mk1/2 mondeo.
Personally, I love the old zeta engine. The one used in MK3 mondeo is supposedly a little bit different but since it's a DOHC, it shouldn't be too hard to take care of it.

Loads in the UK now.

>30mph over in Michigan is a felony

Just off the top of my head
