Challenge: you have to daily drive a TVR Speed 12

The good part: you get to daily a TVR Speed 12
The catch: you have to daily a TVR Speed 12

You can't sell it or use another car, and must do it a full year. Do you take the offer?

Drive a car for a year? Geez, how difficult. I've been driving cars for 6 years now and nothing bad has happened yet.

Yes RWD super car in Minnesota winters will be initial D clone

>no visibility
>no trunk space
>no ride comfort
>can't clear a curb
>no luxuries
>pain in the ass to get in and out of
>1000HP and no traction control, stability control, air bags
>british engineering and effectively no spare parts
This isn't your Miata

What be the issue? Does it break down often? Do I need to pay for maintenance and fuel meself?

What's the reward? I'm not doing it for free.

The CEO of TVR, a company which builds glorified coffins made to kill their owners, determined that the car was "too undriveable to exist." Imagine a Dodge Viper that makes double the power, and weighs half a tonne less.

There are worse ways to die desu

Just because you have a hammer, dosent mean everything has to be a nail. I'm fairly certain a 10 currency mod blocking 90% of the throttle pedals travel will fix any issue relating to spinning out and loosing control on the snow.

only if the year can start after i move to my next command. not trying to move across the country with no space to take my stuff.

"move to my next command"
What are you, some kind of autistic airshitter?

>autistic airshitter
navy. but close.

if fuel and maintenance are paid for, yes, if not, no

The only TVR Speed 12 built is in full car trim. Even beyond the crashing and speed, I don't think most people would last from just how uncomfortable and impractical it would be to daily.

Yawnnnn. People are daily'ing cars with way higher power to weight ratios.

>The engine was developed by essentially joining two Speed Six engine blocks to a common crankshaft
sweet jesus

it gets better,
when testing the engine it ended up breaking the input shaft on the dyno
it makes AT LEAST 1000 hp and who knows how much torque
no one knows what the engine's true capabilities are

It's so cute when you Euro's try. What kind of shitty dyno's do you got over there? I guess when they only have to measure 3l diesels...

>no one knows what the engine's true capabilities are

Because it's British, it barely runs.

am amerifat, but lets see you try to make 1000 hp with out forced induction

And that's just a tiny LS. Those numbers are easily achievable with a big block in a more streetable package.

but im sure the speed 12 wasnt even tuned for power as much, giving it far more potential

>car craps out after a few weeks because of boutique car reliability
>nobody knows how to fix it and I don't have the time to become a TVR service tech

Guess I'll be bumming rides and taking the bus all year.

LS swap it.

>trading a one of a kind V12 for a truck engine

Quicker than a heartbeat.
>Sitting in morning traffic for 50 minutes to travel 14km
>Any gap I want is mine
>Sounds like a fucking animal the entire time.

...

Yes.

>rains
>die

I DD a CBR1000RR in the summer. This is going to be a piece of cake.

...

>Starts raining just ever so slightly
>Barely tap the gas pedal taking off around a corner
>Car goes spinning like a frisby
>Car spins so fast that all of my internal organs are misplaced
>Doctors did their best to piece me back together
>Now owe a lifetime of medical bills and look like some Eldritch horror

Noty

Doesn't this car have an engine block made of steel? How does that run before it warms up?

just look at this fucking ameridumb embarrassing himself

how pathetic

what motivates americans, and just americans, to become this stupid, ignoble and ignorant?

yeah because baby boomers daily cobra replicas... most of which only have 302 truck engines btw

>The distinctive intakes below the headlamps on the Chimaera, were purely accidental and the result of Peter Wheeler's (owner of TVR) dog 'Ned' biting the prototype bodyshell.

Cars literally designed by doggo.

Even better.

As someone who has driven a regular TVR Cerbera.

You will die.
The car it's based on is already mental.
440bhp in a car that weights 1060kg, without any electronic aids?
Everything is on a knife's edge with that one.

Another thing that catches people out on them is how tight the steering is, two turns from lock to lock.
It feels twitchy by nature and it's very easy to overcorrect.

well we all going to die anyway, at least dying in a 1000hp badass metal coffin sounds so manly

i'll take the Panoz next to it, thank you. Although it's not as bonker as Speed 12 at least its not going to kill me

No I wouldn't. Not even going to pretend like I could or am some bad ass I'd die. On top of that it'd be more practical to slap a lawn mower engine on a golf cart, so even if I could, no.

Not only would I do it I'll do it with open headers for the rest of my fucking life

I would, but I'm pretty sure I'd just die because I'm not a racing driver.

im gonna ride the clutch so hard i dont give a fuck if i have to swap a plate every month. i dont give a fuck what gear im in the drivetrain is NEVER getting 100% of the engines power at any fuckin time.

I don't strictly need a car because everything is within walking or biking distance, so there's essentially no downside for me and of course I'd do it.

>TVR Sagaris
>V12
Hmmm

Only if I don't have to pay for fuel, insurance and maintenance, because I probably can't afford those. Maybe I can fuel if I'm allowed to use my motorcycle as a backup - you only said no other cars allowed.

>no visibility
like my daily
>no trunk space
like my daily
>no ride comfort
like my daily
>can't clear a curb
like my daily
>no luxuries
I keep the radio off most of the time anyway and I have no aircon anyway
>pain in the ass to get in and out of
like my daily but I imagine tvr is way worse
>1000HP and no traction control, stability control, air bags
Like my daily but it has airbags for now and 14% of its horsepower
>british engineering and effectively no spare parts
dealbreaker...

learn to drive

I knew someone who had to do that, or his family had to do it, he loved it at first but came to hate it. Might have been another TVR I'm not sure

>DDing a TVR for a year
>DDing the absolute madman TVR for a year
Absolutely.

Maybe if I can swap the struts and lift it five inches and choke the intakes. Otherwise I would end up crashing it just going into my driveway.

I can deal with all of this so i dont see a problem

what car do you drive that has 7,000 horsepower

You got to drive a Speed 12.

No its his daily that has 14% of the TVRs HP you dummy
So 140HP

>thread about Speed12
>comment before that suggests swapping an LS into a broken down Speed12
Though swapping a straight-sixermout for an LS is also heresy.

do i have to pay the insurance?

if no then yes

Would be pretty dank trying to be a road that hadn't been plowed yet.

fuck yeah
my 9-5 commute is only 20min round trip
and delivering pizzas 3 nights a week in a speed 12 would be tits

>deliver pizza
>customer says you're the fastest delivery ever
>open pizza box
>pizza has turned to mush

So it's like somebody's weekend project? Ahhh the pride of Britain getting destroyed by rednecks as per usual.

>deliver pizza
>pizza always get splattered all over the rear windshield because of muh inertia
>fired

worth it

>Free smells
