Far too much whitespace.

Imo this looks a lot better.
Good on: for arguing for it

Guild 3?

Oh no. Green Lantern Mogo is dead in Stellaris-verse

;_;

Too long. You're not getting the spider seal of approval.

Remove the line between the game and the links.

Thanks m8

What changes are in this OP?

Also, I like the title more than just civ4xg - strategy/4x games. It's not like as a first timer I'll ctrl-f "strategy" but more the recent release, like if a new Civ expansion comes out or a new Endless game.

Has it even been announced yet? I've been playing Renaissance a bit and it's so goofy and fun. One of the most comfy games I've ever played.

That way instead?

That would help, also remove double spaces from after each section, having to scroll down so much to reach the actual thread is not good.

Format.
Other than that Politics guide and planet stats for Endless Space.
By:
And Microprose area. That may not stick around though.

Went with double spaces because I wanted the header to be closer to the stuff relevant to it, but that won't be necessary if they're hugging eachother in the next one.
Work in progress anyways.

DO IT AGAIN

Are you being retarded on purpose? That's why it's called BAIT. You send something ahead to pull the enemy out of hiding then jump on top of them with a giant fucking doomstack. Of course they aren't going to engage you if you escort them with a fleet they know they can't kill, dumbass. What the fuck do you think people mean when they say "transport bait"?

Hey /civ4xg/ I play stellaris and just got Endless Space ", what faction would I like the most?

Utopia DLC
Worth it for someone getting rapidly burned out on Vanilla Stellaris? Not too miffed about the price tag, as long as the new content adds something tangible to the gameplay.

unfallen are the most inactive and afkable faction in the game, great for watching tv while """""playing"""""

Which Ascension Perk is best for the first pick?

>very adaptive / adaptive hive mind

mastery of terrain

>anything else

situational but don't fall for the 10% research speed meme. +5 cores is good too if you're shitting out colonies.

Here you go bro. Yall finally broke me so I just buckled down and threw them all in a pic.

Even better? I found giant land battleships that had shield bubbles that covered entire regiments on it. Just gotta find out who was on the planet first. The hive mind or the precursors. I don't know which is scarier to think about.

Synthetic Evolution Enhanced and Animated Synthetic Portraits -Extended are not compatible together. SEE's changes are ignored by the game.

why don't you pirate it and check it out?

>don't fall for the 10% research speed meme
w-what's wrong with research speed?

It becomes worth it with mods.

Don't want to bother with that shit. I'm reading up on what it changes right now, but anons itt tend to have more concise arguments.
I'll probably pick it up anyways just so I'm totally up to date, and then begin modding the living fuck out of the game.

nothing, but 10% in the early game is borderline nothing and 10% in the lategame is also borderline nothing due to all the other modifiers you have. It's more like a 2-4% increase.

>Don't fall for the 10% research speed meme
This is the thing I've always gotten ASAP. Why does it suck?

>bother with that shit

with what, downloading a file and dropping it in a folder?

Is this the power of having more money than braincells?

Waste of an ascension perk. Start of the game Tech gives you a +5 for like 360 PHYS, and by the time you're able to take that ascension perk you can just build Sci yields that will give you more than 10% almost monthly.

Damn. Well ok I'll look into what I can do about that.

Thanks guys. Another, different question: How do you make sure that "Spiritualist values are reflected across all layers of the government"? My Spiritualist factions wants me to make this happen but I don't know how.

Setting up a Torrent client, finding a version of the ripped DLC that'll run correctly, etc.
I'm on a newish computer setup and haven't gotten around to bothering with pirating shit yet, kill me.

cs.rin.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=68551

under the DLCs only tab thinghy

>.ru

suck it up, rezmar is /ourguy/

It means one of your governing ethics should be Spiritualist

Just grab Tixati or something, its not exactly difficult to set up a torrent client.

Probably means "each Governor and Emperor is Spiritual" or something

Just conquered an empire, and they had enslaved pops. How do I emancipate them?

Slavery is prohibited in my empire so there doesn't seem to be any way to emancipate them?!

Did you change the species rights? Might be on caste system/residence/slaves/undesirables. Click on them and click species rights. You can also go to the species page and change your default rights for any new populationss you acquire.

Why isn't Amplitude at E3? Only they can salvage this shitshow.

Codex when

nvm it had to do with synths, they automaticaly become enslaved if you have "servitude" set for bots

they may have the "recently enslaved" modifier that takes a while to burn out. I know Vanilla Authoritarians would spawn with Caste System active and to undo it, you'd need to turn it off and then while paused, shuffle your Pops around to different jobs so the game would stop thinking they were still Enslaved, this should get rid of that Malus as well.

I think we overdeveloped it. Look t this. It seems to me the best of all worlds

You haven't even answered my question about whether Utopia is actually worth it, user. Why is everyone on Veeky Forums so autistic about answering simple questions?

I think if another civ emancipates the slaves, they gain a positive happiness modifier called "emancipated".

>new wolfenstein
>new metro
I'm happy.

Worth pirating? Sure

Worth whatever it's going for on steam? Nah, no Paradox DLC is.

But Spiritualist is one of my ethics. I use a mod that gives me 4 ethic points, I've invested them in F. Xenophobe, Militarist and Spiritualist. Is it possible the game doesn't recognize the fourth ethic point or something?

Are you using the beta 1.7 version? Because I'm getting this as well.

Playing spiritualist myself right now and I have

Pious Polity
Having spiritualist values be reflected at all levels of government will please the spiritualists, +5% happiness

Looking at the code for the factions, there's only 3 +5% happiness, one for having spiritualist governing ethics, one for >24% population being spiritualists and one for getting a boon from the Shroud.

So it's one of those.

>United Empire declares war one me
>Whatever, got a couple very strong fleets so they shouldn't be able to do anything
>They have a fuck ton of weak ships and a 7 CP cap, so I target a large amount of their ships at once while they do their best to be generally annoying

This is so tedious

If you cant win a war with force you can win it by being so annoying they pay you to fuck off.

Is there any way one can watch/listen to victory screens in ES2, w/o having to play trough? I think that UE has multiple versions, with different words but I'm curious if so do others, and after that "go to the other side of the galaxy" gig I am not keen on playing trough a full game as riftborn just to see if there is a different outro.

You also have Animated Synthetic Portraits and its Extended version. I sure hope you disabled its non extended version in your game.

>AI will never tire out of the level of micro needed to be an annoying piece of shit
>No automation with fleets and wars so that you can be a just as annoying piece of shit
>Even if the automation is as awful as the AI itself, since you'd be shitting out more ships than them anyways
>Vietnamese flashbacks of Victoria 2 lategame micro when armies were as spammy as naked corvettes

What storytelling is there in the game at all?

Beyond the first couple of systems (once you research the void entities and what not) there's no plotlines whatsoever until you get to the crises, and then it's just a paragraph of flavour text before you get another generic baddie to send your 60k stacks at.

I'll admit I don't have any of the DLC, I only saw the leviathan DLC trailer today and it seemed interesting but definitely not worth £10. Not sure of the expansion added any story elements because I dont' have that either, but there's no story in the base game beyond the randomly generated flavour text that begins repeating itself by the time you get an hour into your playthrough, and never changes in subsequent playthroughs beyond your faction's ethics changing the +600 physics research into +600 society because of spiritualism.

I wish I wasn't getting attacked by 3 different people at once, otherwise I'd be able to deal with this swarm a little better

There's just so many of them and they're all terrible but I can only attack once a turn

What do you think will happen bros?

See

Its the story of your civilization and how you and through you them react to what happens around them. Its a different kind of storytelling where there more often than not is not a main plot or long reaching string of events.

>Relying on automatic ship builder in stellaris because I'm lazy and my stacks are large enough that I don't need to give a shit about tactics
>Have the interdimensional matter destroyer or whatever item you can research from Unbidden vessels
>Upgrade ships and the ship builder adds that to all ships
>Few in-game months later I finish researching Flak Battery v1, some holdover research I never got around to researching
>This causes the logic behind the ship builder to scramble the ship design, even though the new ship design doesn't include the new weapon I just upgraded

What's the logic behind the automatic ship builder? It does this all the time, any time you research a ship module, it'll scramble your ship layout even though it's not utilising the new module in the design.

For what purpose? Surely the design should stay the same until you research a module that would be an upgrade (by whatever metric the AI uses) and then it would result in a new setup. Not otherwise.

>uses examples where the flavour text is utterly useless and your response doesn't matter (if you even had an option between responses, which you don't. You even have the same response for wildly different events. Truly great storytelling)
>doesn't at least use the weak but defensible argument of the story events with unique responses depending on your society ethics.

smdh tbhf

you think that's retarded, wait until you try a Federation with the AI and get the same thing happening for EVERY TECHNOLOGY EVERY MEMBER RESEARCHES
Which then also auto-generates a design, meaning if you hit Upgrade without microing the game will strip particle lances off your ships in favor of autocannons

Gonna ask before I take a big shit, since the general seems to be remarkable active, I might actually get a response by the time I get back.

Haven't played since release on a pirated copy, own the game now thanks to humble bundle.

Did they get around to fixing sectors? I had to edit a file when I was playing the pirated copy because sectors just wouldn't behave properly, would refuse to build shit even though you dumped thousands of credits into them (just wouldn't spend them, even though there were upgrades/buildings to be made)

Ended up having to change a file to remove the limit so I could micromanage all 100 planets.

Also, kind of unrelated and more related to /gsg/, but I hope they make a CK3 game. I could never play paradox games because the UI was just dogshit, I was hours into CK2, just bumbling around, and didn't realise half the menu options were clickable because they look like just artwork.

HOI4 and Stellaris' UI were both really good, I hope they fix CK's UI in the next iteration.

Never played EU for the same reason, but didn't try EU4. Might have had the same upgrade.

The game expects you to make your own story in your mind. If you don't like that then the game is now for you. Don't play it.

Sectors basically work now. They're not a very good system still, but if you give a Sector enough internal Credits and Minerals to trend positive, you can then tax them up to 75% of their income (which you should always do) and as long as Redevelopment is turned off, they'll do fine.
]>Stellaris' UI was really good
O I am laffin

Okay I got the DLCs, extracted them to the Stellaris file, replaced the existing DLC folder with the new ones, and am running the game outside of Steam but it acts like I don't have the DLCs. Am I doing something wrong? It's been forever since I messed with modding even basic drag-n-drop shit like this.

Why wasn't Amplitude at PC Gaming Show?

My vote is to glass it and never look back.

Game is already released. That expo is for building up hype.

>Did they get around to fixing sectors?

"Yes" They "work" but they are still on the stupid side and don't often handle specialization well. They really hate say a planet of only power plants.

If you turn off redevelopment and just hand them complete planets outside of builds with straight flat upgrades they are fine though.

>seed of hope
Going for the greenland strategy with that planet I see.

NO BULLY THE SPIDERS

>Craver Prime illustration for the Founder Pack of Endless Space 2.

I believe it requires your government type to be spiritualist. Since you have 4 ethics, one of the other government types is probably weighing heavier than a spiritualist type. Check the wiki for the types and their weights. stellariswiki.com/Government

I'm not even sure if they have voice acting to begin with. Haven't finished a game, I always get bored at turn 100 or so.

The ending videos do have voice acting, two versions depending on whether the Lost were resurrected or not like you said. Though I don't know where the separate voice files are either.

Is modding for civ 6 a thing?

They do. Same as intro.

Fun fact, to get that pic in the game you have to do insanely stupid out of character things and stick with it. The worst part? It has the worst bonuses.

Yes

Wait, are they being forced into it at gunpoint?

If you stop the complete evacuation of your home dimension and leave the rest of your race to die a rebellion starts, and once you deal with it the ringleaders are locked into time-jail.

Lockdown does sound like an objectively retarded choice.
Evacuate is the best.

But what if they bully me!

>It has the worst bonuses.
It's actually pretty great if you're going militaristic or wonder victory. The manpower bonus means ALL your fleets are refilled in one turn for practically no real cost and the flat Industry bonus you get from the fourth chapter is better than the lower Riftborn creation cost (especially if you already have a full system) since it applies to all other constructions, and is thus better for Wonder victory.

But yeah, it's kind of extreme lore wise.

somehow I'M the bad guy

Where have I heard this before?

I figured it out. Turns out you can't play Fanatic Purifiers and have a Spiritualist government, as Fanatic Purifiers automatically denotes your government as Xenophobic. Good job Paracocks.

No, it's most likely as a Fanatic Purifier can't have a spiritual government type as listed in that image.

Yes, what said. What he didn't mention is that expirience drives some of them into insanity.

Nah, if you don't have infinite manpower by chapter 4 you are doing it wrong. Flat industry is quite good if you mostly use riftborn pops, but since it's, IMO, optimal to use riftborn as a way to jumpstart a colony and then flood it with meat so that you can work on infrastructure, it's not at all impressive. I'm not sure what bonus you get for communion, but the 50% discount on pops and +3 influence make actually using riftborn pops far more appealing to me.

By the way, where do they keep those pics?

That is literally what I said baka

>Veeky Forums Cravers with gold bling

For clarity's sake, the correct answer is that Blood Court, purity order, purification committee and purity assembly all have a weight of 2000, whereas the spiritualist gov types have a weight of 5 except for holy tribunal, divine empire and celestial empire, which have a weight of 1000 and another added prerequisite.

Those weightings are such nonsense. They should all be at least ÷100 or something so it's not just "hurrdurr muh"

>Minmaxed the shit out of a custom faction with Gargantuan pops, Crowded Planets II, Big Fleets II, Constructionists III, Legendary Heroes II, and riftborn pop collection bonus
>Endless difficulty now feels like two difficulties down

SOMEONE
ANYONE
PLEASE RESPOND

If you aren't smart enough to do it, don't play it, or buy it.

Paradox math is always retarded my dude. They come up with the "balance" they want and then reverse-engineer the math from there, instead of engineering the math first so that it makes sense and then balancing the game around the meta that emerges from that.
