How autistic do you have to be to keep a black car flawless? Are they worth the hassle?

How autistic do you have to be to keep a black car flawless? Are they worth the hassle?

Is that a pornstar, and if so, what is her name?

she looks awfully familiar...

somehow my black car's a bird shit magnet fuckin hell. I wash and wax the fucking thing and there'll be white globs on the hood.

Pretty autistic, certainly if it's used. Veeky Forums loves to spout how much they fucking love used cars, but you'll never find one with pristine paint.

They almost always look good from a few feet though if you just give them a good hand wash every 3-4 days and was every so often. I also do a good 3 stage polish once a year.

>17958363

>I also do a good 3 stage polish once a year.

I also like to destroy my clear coat.

>Have black BMW from '91
>Paint starting to look shit

After the rust repair I might as well plastidip it, what would be a good color for an E36 sedan?

Yes, I wash mine about once a month. Unless I'm taking someone out then I wash it beforehand.

Black is worth it all the way.

Once a year won't do shit.

Is that a star wars themed car wash or just a convention?

Assuming it isn't covered in swirl marks when you get it its really not that hard.

Most pros use DA polishers these days, they don't have much in the way of cutting power, not like a rotary.

Mfw walking up to my black car while it’s raining and it’s perfectly clean looking and glossy

>foam sponge

I use a porter cable da

As long as it gets the job done, would take a cheap DA over a rotary any day. We just got a Rupes Bigfoot at work its a fucking dream to use.

It's fucking impossible. I have 2 black cars in my house and you can't.
Wash it one day, the other day they're already disgusting.

I guess it depends on where you live.

If you live somewhere where it doesn't snow it isn't too bad.

>she

If it was not such a crazy deal when I bought it I would have left it because of the color. Looking at all the awesome two tone color options you have when you buy a RAM it blows my fucking mind anybody would buy a all black one.. At least get the mother fucking metallic flake.

But I digress. Yeah its a bitch to clean and it looks nice when it is.

It's pretty much impossible. Swirls and spiderwebs are inevitable no matter how careful you are when washing it.

I've just embraced the mess and muck. An occasional hosedown to knock off the bigger lumps of clay and shit from inside the wheel wells and the edges of the car and maybe a yearly waxing is all my car gets, it's just gonna get a coat of orange on it the next morning when I go to work anyways.
Fuck, I like rural living and can deal with the mediocre internet, but living on a mostly dirt/clay road is hell if you like having a clean car.

Alabama?

One state over, Georgia.

...

This thread is now a poll on most maintainable exterior car color. My vote goes to dark metallic grey (ie German black). You can carry layers of dust, random spots and not give af in dark grey cars

Silver pretty good at hiding shit. Sauce: country roads, shitloads of road works, gravel drive.

Except cow shit. That always shows up.

it got so stressful i had to sell the car

Pretty autistic since your pretty much committed to washing it all the damn time if you want it looking nice.

Extremely autistic.

I hate a heated and cooled garage and I still have to wash it every 2-4 days.

I fucking hate Mitsubishi's black paint. I have a similar period Outlander as a hand-me-down DD, and the hood is all scratched to shit because Mitsubishi's paint scrapes off like it's a 1940s fighter plane.

Not me....I clay bar, polish, wax, and wash regularly and don't think the paint is any different then any of the other black cars I've owned.

If you get it nice and polished as the sun goes down it looks absolutely fucking amazing

Is yours pearl black, or just gloss black? they might use different formulations.

You're wasting your life. If you're going to be anal about how clean your car is don't buy a fucking black car.

It's tarmac black pearl

I won't buy a black car again, no matter how good a deal it is.

Why am I wasting my life? I enjoy it, It's worth the payoff to me and It's satisfying.

Shit, mine is also black pearl (although it's called Labrador black pearl, so it might still be a different formulation.)

Still, the car is from 2011 and it's already flaking off rust around the edges of the body panels. Fucking mitsubishi

>it's worth the payoff to me
How? Your horrible shitbox jap chrysler looks like it's new. Wow, totally worth hours of your life to look at your car and think it looks new. It's not like anyone is impressed by it, it's a fucking shitsubishi

>tfw recently bought a black car
>live in an apartment building with no inside parking
>no hoses and car washes is against hoa
I'm fucked arent I

It is a different formulation.

Really? Mine is a 2012 and I live in the rust belt. I don't have 1 chip or spot of rust on my car, Not 1

Maybe it was just that formulation or something just went wrong with your paint job specifically at the manufacturer

Pink cars are the least likely to get stolen.

The Outlander seems to have a lot of rust problems in comparison to the Lancer in general, despite being based on the same platform. Earlier this year I had to get the wiper motor replaced because the linkage corroded (Mitsubishi recalled it, so it was at least a free replacement) and had to go into another recall because the suspension control arms were corroding (didn't require replacement), and I also had to get all 4 brake discs replaced because of corrosion.

To be fair, the salt probably got to this car bad, since it was left for 3 months on a rural street that got salted frequently, but a family member's Lexus was in the same position and nothing was wrong with it at all.

How autistic you need to be to want your car to be flawless 24/7?
Are you a stancefag, op?

7-1

BR STILL BTFO

>I also like to destroy my clear coat.

> Car looks like shit because of swirls, holograms, spots, etc
>Muh clear is THICC though

Techno Violet.

How do you know?

If you like detailing, if you're autistic about keeping shit clean then it can be one of the best colors to keep. You don't need a halogen light to check for scratches and you dont need a dark colored MF cloth or pad to see if the paint is coming off when u polish. Sure waterspots and dirt shows up easily too, but thats why you constantly wash, and if you're that neurotic about cleanliness of the paint then it should be an exercise you enjoy.

>I don't take pride in myself or in anything I own and I fucking hate anyone that does
Sure told him off bro

Love this feel, humidity makes it look like pure sex

if you're asking don't do it.

I live by Red Green's philosophy. If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Now after watching a few ammo vids my buddy showed me I hate my 10 year old paint. I used a clay bar, which just revealed all the defects and scratches. Worst of all I now realize its a metallic black and I REALLY want the sparkle to show but I need to wet sand, cut, polish, buff and buy a DA polisher but I park outside and in Ontario so its an uphill race.

>Thinking of getting a black car
>Live in Florida

For the anons that live in hot and sunny places, how do you guys do it?

Heated/cooled leather seats and remote start.

Also, phantom grey / pewter metallic / dark greys are objectively the best colors for cars.

Not that hard if you wax every few months
pollen n dust will then rinse off with hose water
corvette>gtr

Open my windows with the key fob, I still get burned by the leather seats/wheel but fuck it

you literally cannot stop thinking about that trauma I gave you lol

you projected again

called it lol

poor kid lol

poor girl lol

>ARGHHH PREZO I"LL GET YOU YET!!!!!11

Lel literally i ruined him

>he projected again

lol

nice selfie

how could a photo of a fucking perfume bottle be a selfie you fucking idiot

ur literally stupid omg lol

Why don't you two just fuck and get married already?

>first car was a 50k mile garage-kept "Black and Tan" Edition 1992 Miata
>flawless single stage paint, front bumper cover not faded like all of them
>had to park it outside up a 200 yard dirt road

God it looked so good in black with the BBS and tan leather, and looked so good when clean, but it made me want to kill myself

literally spent 6-8 hours a week washing the car only for it to be dirty a few hours later, even with a fat layer of wax or any combination of sealant, foam, etc etc it would never just "wash off"

Honestly glad I wrecked it in a few months, it would have driven me to insanity

My current attainable dream car is a black E34 M5, no way I would own one unless I had a garage and only took it out on the weekends or something

Have had 2 silver cars since, can confirm it's the shit for not worrying about it

I am not a huge homo, and Prezo is most likely fat

>How autistic do you have to be to keep a black car flawless?
The trick is to carry a static dust brush in the trunk. Swish it gently across the car and it removes dust and pollen. It's what I use on my car to eliminate the need to rinse off dust or use detailer spray. To remove dust from the static dust brush, put the handle between your two palms and rub your palms across the handle. The brush will spin and the dust flies off.

I have a nice brush on a straight rod, but haven't a current source for them since china drove the usa maker out of business. The chinese ones have easy grip handles that aren't prefectly round, but I suppose you can still twirl them to get the dust and pollen off. There's no need to wash the brush. The other nice thing is that the brush is sort of self cleaning because any new dust or pollen will absorb any oils that get onto the brush. When that dust flies off, it carries off the oil or contaminants thus "cleaning" the brush.

An example of a static dust brush is the blue one sold at walmart.com if you search for "static dust brush" at that site. Maybe one day they will get a straight rod version instead of that angled handle one.

But you and he are obviously made for one another.

soviet exists solely as prezos cum rag, nothing more.

I just wax once a month and wash two times a week. Its always shiny

The car or your perineum?

>somehow my black car's a bird shit magnet
Crows become accustomed to human activity meaning food can be available. So they see you around the car, and they will fly down and perch on your car to look around and see if you threw any fast food trash on the ground. There's huge flocks of them in the shopping and restaurant areas in my city but almost none in the residential areas.

Don't get a black car in Florida. The sun WILL destroy your paint.
I hate to say white is best but it does seem to hold up.

>how do you guys do it

>Park in shaded/covered spots whenever possible
>Get a sunshade (pic related) for your windshield, driver's door, and front passenger's door. Use it anytime you have to park in the sun or if there is spotty coverage. It'll help keep the sun from shining directly on your wheel and seats, and keep them from becoming burning hot. This applies for all cars.
>Use the power of autism to determine how the sun will be moving over the area you are parking in and park in the spot that will allow you to best deflect/avoid sun rays.
>Keep AC in top shape.

no. a scratched up clear coat on black paint is hard to ignore.

see? he is a total homo obsessed with me

Lots of other people are clearly able to take care of their black (or any other color) cars without scratching them up. So your implied problem with cars having scratched up clear coats is related to how those cars were cared for.

All these fucking morons who have watched a couple detailing videos on youtube all of the sudden think they're professional detailers.
News flash, if you have a single stage paint polish it all you want.
If you have a factory 2/3/4 stage paint and it's over 10 years old polishing it is just killing it.
You can either live with the imperfections it and protect it to try to make it last, which is ideal because no one wants a repainted car unless you spend $10k painting it.
Or you can repaint it.
If you start trying to paint correct your shitbox, especially if it gets stored outside, all you're going to do is drastically reduce it's service life.
