First for hello have a nice day.

2nd for thank you kind sir, best of luck in the upcoming quarter.

Also Yamaha a best

CAN CONFIRM

NO LITER NO PETER

Rode my first twisty today. I thought putting around town was fun, now I'm hanging out for the next day trip.
I'll make some webms later so everyone can judge my terrible form.

So I take it you haven't got any twistes within a 10 minute ride of your house?

I do, but it's only 3km, has a lot of traffic, lots of cyclists and is notorious for people throwing tacks and nails on the road.
Living in the city is shit, but back at home in the country I have access to great touges with 0 traffic. Roads aren't maintained well though.

>and is notorious for people throwing tacks and nails on the road.

Jesus fuck why?

Salty cunts. The cyclists aren't even that bad, for most of the road they have their own lanes with a concrete divider. Even if they are riding on the road, the speed limit is 50km/h and cops patrol it constantly so you won't be driving much faster than them anyway.

abc.net.au/news/2016-06-16/yarra-boulevard-tacks-police-search-for-man/7515202

how buttblasted do you have to be to throw something that could potentially fuck up your own day onto the road?

Very.

I have a neighbour that might do it.
He already called the cops for us using the little alleyway behind our house with our bikes, as it was a danger for his kids. He's talking about when my dad rides his bike there at 6 in the morning.

The same guy also never did anything when his son wanted to touch the cylinders of my bike, after I had ridden it for 2 hours.

Jesus christ, what a bunch of cunts. I used to mountain bike and we'd get people putting huge branches across trails in blind areas, even though the trails are super steep and you wouldn't walk up or down them anyway.

so user

what do you ride?

You get people doing that down green lanes here. It's perfectly legal to ride motorcycles down them but it seems the further into the countryside you go the more the locals think they own the place.

Currently the couch in drug induced hallucinations.

>the further into the countryside you go the more the locals think they own the place.

Yeah I know what you mean, one of the old motovloggers svengalie (passed away now unfortunately) used to do a lot of green laning videos and people who lived next to green lanes would always get super pissed off whenever anybody used them, despite the fact that they knew they moved next to a byway.

Antbike, it gud.

Also apparently I ride it vertically...

Took my new CB400 out today, it was great!

Taking it out again tomorrow for a longer test ride before i go on a 5 day tour on it, but i have no luggage

should i buy this?

I'm you, but stronger

>Mate wants to get rid of his 2014 cbr500r and buy a car
>It has 60,000kms
>Stealership will give him $2k for it
>Offers it to me for $2k

Would this be a decent first baiku?

I wouldn't buy it for 2k new, holy fuck
It has double the mileage of my 2011 bike and it's a fucking 500r
Get an sv and save yourself the trouble

I'm you, but stronger

Good first bike but if you could find a 500F or 500X for the same price go for those instead because they're better.

They're reliable, good on fuel and super easy to ride though.

Nah senpai there's a 4 too many

Do I look aesthetic?
I'm thinking about getting a yellow Bell Moto 3 helmet.

4 too many what?

Forgot my pic hehe...

Why go for the 500 when the 700 is cheaper, more convenient, better on fuel and with better aftermarket?
Seriously, the only thing the 500x has going for it is the rally raid kit which costs more than the fucking bike

Yeah and get a matching buttplug to stick to your seat whilst you're at it.

Will it fit on yours?
And will it fit your dragon dildos?

2k AUD which is like 1.5k USD

The cheapest cbr500r on classifieds in my country is $3500 AUD and that has 48,000km

the logical progression would be the RSV, not the v4
>The joke was about v-twins you dolt

for $2000 you can't really go wrong. it has 2 wheels, an acceptable amount of power, potential for a little more if you get it tuned properly and junk the honda tier exhaust
60000km isn't too bad if you trust he has serviced it properly. if it's all ready to ride then i would say sure, it will be a fine first bike especially if you're australian (i'm guessing) which means you'll be stuck with something for a year or two

>2011 bike
>only 30,000km in 6 years
do you even ride or ?

>Why go for the 500 when the 700 is cheaper

It's not, at least not where I live.

>more convenient

It has the frunk and that's about it.

>better on fuel

Literally no better.

>better aftermarket

That's just straight up wrong.

Plus the 700 has a really dull engine that makes all of its power in the low revs and then goes completely gutless in the higher rpms, whereas the 500 has a pretty linear powerband making power all the way through the rev range.

Then again, it's a cb500
A bike so shit honda has to employ Indian shills to pretend anyone bought it

>do you even ride or ?
Lady bought it, lowered it and stashed it for 3 years, got it with 20-22k kms, p. much a barn find

I gathered that but the Tuono is the next step up in Aprilia's naked range, and given the age of your model, the Tuono was a V4 at that point.

Plus 4 too many? Don't you mean either 1 V bank too many or 2 cylinders too many? 4 too many makes no sense.

thanks user
he has an aftermarket exhaust on it too
he gets it serviced regularly and will get a new rear tyre on it

Don't listen to the other guy user, the 500R is a pretty much perfect first bike, right amount of power to have fun and overtake stuff easily without killing yourself. More interesting to look at than an SV, and you can get it for a good price. I say go for it my dude.

If he's Australian he has to wait 3 years until he's off the restricted (LAMS) bikes.

So in 3 years you rode 10k on?
Do you even ride?

>4 makes no sense
RSV-TUONO vs RSV4-TUONO
Can you not read the stuff on the side of your bike
For 2k you could get an old zzr, a proper sportbike
An SV is leagues better than a honda

Why do modern touring bikes have to be so big and complicated? Looking at the current market, it's a choice between something like a fake-plastic-gimmicky versys with minimal protection or a 1400cc, 180hp, 300kg plastic behemoth with a built in microwave and eyebrow warmers.

ANyway I want to put a windjammer onto an sr400 or even dr650 to make a simple and reliable tourer for cheap.

Cheers
I'll have money for riding gear also

Bruh I'm like the third owner
Have had it for little less than a year

>10k in about a year
That's not much

> almost a year
>still no more than 10,000km put on the bike
dude go out and ride and stop shitposting maybe you will appreciate bikes a little more

But that would hurt

>RSV-TUONO vs RSV4-TUONO
Can you not read the stuff on the side of your bike

Yes and I know it's not even called an 'RSV4 Tuono', and never has been.

Don't knock it till you've tried it.

>Sr400/dr650 tourer
Enjoy your numb asshole
>Bike has been under my name since 3/3/16
>Meaning I've had it for 6 months, 28 days
>I've put on roughly 10k km
>averaging roughly 48 kilometers a day
And it's not even my only bike

I rode my bike 20k in the first 6 months.

>And it's not even my only bike
What other bike do you have?

it's 2 years in QLD

Thoughts?

Hahaha, no
100+ km/day, even at 130kmh (maximum speed limit) it would be impossible
At the time I rode a inazuma 250 my friend lent me, then I got 3 Vespas to fix

There are some decent ones out there, the BMW R1200RS is quite nice, fairly reserved styling, good wind protection with modest power and not ridiculously heavy. Also the F800ST.

Seat doesn't suit the rest of the bike imo.

>100km/day would be impossible

Except I rode 4-500km/day for a few weeks.

So you've lived on the highway... How was the food?

>Buying used riding gear
is this a bad idea?

Only if it's a used helmet. Other gently used gear can be fine

Jackets, trousers, gloves and boots should be okay, but never helmets.

>you can only ride 4-500km/day on the highway
It's 6-7 hours at 80km/h

Recently I did 1000km in a single day, that was mostly highway yes, with an average speed of about 100km/h

sweet

Nah

I have an r1100rt
mate has an s1000rr
other mate has f800s

All the bmws are complicated and fucking unreliable

They modern ones seem fine for reliability but complicated? What do you mean by that? Sure they have a few electronic bits but they're super easy to use.

what is each brands best enduro motorcycle?

pic unrelated

Honda's CRF250s are pretty good, though the 450s are even better if you make them road legal.

The new BMWs are basically a computer on wheels.

The R1150 and earlier aren't complicated though. My R1150 isn't much different from the R65 I had, only it's easier to work on because it's bigger and has no frame.

>The new BMWs are basically a computer on wheels.

They do have a lot of systems but they're still motorbikes, unless you're dicking around with the power modes, with normal riding you don't even notice the difference.

Good idea for your first set. I got a used A* jacket for $250AUD and it's great, practically brand new. Only reason I didn't get the rest of my gear used is because I couldn't find it in my size.

All honda dirt bikes are crf's and they only make one enduro bike.

You actually do.
It's all ride by wire. Even the suspension is electronic.

60K isn't shit on a modern engine. 60K miles wouldn't be shit on a modern engine.

Check condition and if good, enjoy. Also you really should learn about motorcycle forums. This is a shitposting board and any useful advice you get here is accidental.

Enjoy /dbt/ for what it is, but fucking know and understand what it is not.

>You actually do.
>It's all ride by wire. Even the suspension is electronic.

Yes but you don't feel it, I've ridden dozens of bikes with electronic systems, and apart from traction control kicking in in shitty conditions or the wheelie control stopping your front wheel, you cannot feel any difference whatsoever when just riding along.

crf250l, drz400e, wr250r, klx250f, ktm 690, xr650

Between my R1150 and the R1200 I rode, you actually do.
There is something strange with the R1200. It's too light, too easy.

Use a smaller fairing if you were actually considering a real Vetter Windjammer. They are too large and heavy for very light motorcycles.

The pic you posted is not a Windjammer. Looks like a vintage Hagon which is a better choice but still considerable weight and drag. You don't need a full fairing to tour anyway. A properly positioned windshield or quarter fairing would work best on small displacement bikes. Touring fairings are more rider windbreak than streamlining.

So you don't like it because it's too good?

It gives no feedback, it just goes and it goes hard.

Well it's a tourer, it's designed to be comfy and easy over long distances.

fuck yeah they are complicated dude! specific examples:
r1150
>power assisted servo brakes
>ABS shits the bed frequently and randomly, needs specialist rebuild
>shaft drive shits the bed randomly, needs specialist rebuild
>endless fucking around with motronic issues and chasing the lean-surge dragon

s1000rr
>literally google s1000rr cam chain tensioner
>difficult and expensive charging issues
>lots of recalls for electrical problems
>won't even try to start unless battery is extremely perfect

f800
>i-ABS, trac control, full CANBUS, E-cruise, electronic suspension, modes, etc etc good luck fixing that
>rear wheel bearings die randomly, no known cause or fix

etc
Even the simple-looking rnineT is crammed with electronics, euro 4 plastic canisters, steering dampers, hidden coolers and wiring looms.

So yeah, they're fucking complicated bikes

It's not like my R1150 isn't easy or comfy.

>power assisted servo brakes
Don't have it
>ABS shits the bed frequently and randomly, needs specialist rebuild
Don't have it
>shaft drive shits the bed randomly, needs specialist rebuild
Just buy a new one and replace it, it's not too hard.
>endless fucking around with motronic issues and chasing the lean-surge dragon
That's maybe the twin-spark? Mine just rides.

Fug user, quit teasing me with my euro cuck license

I need dat V4 in my life man

>It's not like my R1150 isn't easy or comfy.

Well of course but it's just progress, they're always gonna develop the bikes to make them better at their purpose.

I was on my cuck license for two years too mane, your time will come, and now I'm riding this I can assure you it's worth the wait.

They made them better for their target audience: rich 50y/o+ people.

>tfw went straight to A

Yeah it isn't a windjammer but it's the only good pic of a big fairing on a small bike I could find. I could potentially hang the windjammer off a cb1100 or even a larger guzzi if HP is an issue.

It's more that the entry level bikes have a very simple build spec that I find extremely satisfying. Plus they eat less $$$ in tyres, fuel, chains, etc

everybody over 50 should be shot
no more boomers

That's exactly it. At the end of the day it's a BMW, they're always gonna be upmarket and a bit more 'bespoke' than the cheaper Japanese stuff.

Boomers are 60+

Gen X can go too, they aren't any better

Guzzis is not about power, it's about torks and no maontainance

GET A REAAAAAAAAAAAAL BIKE

Like a WR125?

like a harley, you know, buyin american

you know, i worked my way up from the bottom, i left school and by dad kicked me out at 16, i worked all summer to buy by first car, a new corvette, and then i used the rest of the money to travel

I moved to new york and rented a small apartment then went to a company and demanded to see the manager and asked for a job, i worked my way up by turning up and doing my job every day. And every day i see 100's of applications from young kids who have never worked a day in their lives, just expecting to get a job like they are entitled to it

Now i'm old enough for the old age pension so i'm retiring, and something i've learned over the years is that nobody owes you a living, you just need to work hard like I did.

...

Thanks grandpa.

ever notice that boomers LARP as the greatest generation?

I mean they didn't really do that much, they just kind of sold everything the greatest gen built overseas and stopped giving a shit about the next generation
