I agree with everything you're saying. I started with Halo 1.

It hurts but I'm happy about this, I'm glad Microsoft is now following the Nintendo strategy of waiting until the game is ready to announce it, that way time wouldn't be taken off the game's development. I think MCC and Halo 5 were a wake-up call.

They also showed Samus Returns which is already pretty much release ready, odds are they thought "if we give them two metroids we win by default"

I doubt they show much of MP4 even next year. Metroid Prime 4 was announced to shut Metroid fans up about them killing the Metroid series. They wanted to how fans that both 2D and 3D Metroid games are not dead.

Disagree with a good portion of this if not almost all of it. Especially the part about how admitting to previously being a "bungie fanboy" is supposed to put weight behind an opinion that takes a pro-343i stance. I've never understood the meaning of this term and I've never met anyone that actually admits to being a fan of bungie first and foremost simply because they enjoy the older games more. I'm not denying that such people exist, but the term is more of a buzzword than an actual phenominon.

The only parts I can say I see eye to eye with is 5 having the best forge so far (that should be a given. It would be dumb if a newer entry didn't expand on forge and improve it. It's not like multiplayer where each game has a unique design to it) and that it's a good thing they're actually taking their time with 6 instead of making empty promises and rushing it out.

TL;DR that's some spicy opinions you've got there but to each his own. Cheers.

I honestly wonder why there is such an artificial attempt being made to keep the thread alive. At the end of the day this is not a good place for Halo discussion. Every thread it's the same false flagging debate over and over again for absolutely no reason, as if having it enough will eventually convince enough people that feels a certain way about the series they care enough about to come to check up on a dying general will suddenly just fuck off and leave.
How many times are we going to see people try to push the same two polarizing narratives against each other? Halo is a pretty damn old franchise and for all the talk of it dying IT'S STILL HERE. I can hardly play most of the old Source or pre-source FPS games now, older BF and Battlefront are pretty fucked, so many games are just completely dead, but I can go on my Xbone right now and play the ~16 year old Halo 1 right now if I wanted and find a match in a minute or two. I swear what will actually kill this franchise is legitimate fans who think we're far worse off than we truly are.

Honestly compared to crawlers, soldiers are fine. I legitamitly cant stand crawlers, they're so annoying to fight.

I wish they acted more like dogs or like flood and swarmed. As it stands they're just faster harder to hit grunts with annoying weapons that have heat seeking bullets. (not counting the plasma pistol charged shot of course)
