It's a 77hp yamaha beginner bike that pretends to be a GSXR.

It's also what yamaha used as the replacement for their ugly godbike in the US market. It's called the XJ6 everywhere else, but the FZ6R (the R make it go fast!) in the US.

It's a really easy to ride. It was the bike I learned to ride on.

If I wanted a beginner bike or some "what more do I need?" self-sabotaging cuckoldry I wouldn't be buying a fully faired inline four that is several times too large for its power output. I'd probably buy a part faired/completely naked parallel twin instead

100hp+ fully faired inline four = extremely inconvenient engine maintenance and bodywork to wory about caring for/not breaking, but worth it because its fast
77hp fully faired inline four = this bike is fucking bullshit and none of the sportbike guys think i'm cool

It didn't exist in a vacuum though. Other bikes served the same purpose better, and the bike it replaced in the US was just flat out better. It even got similar fuel efficiency results, despite having more horses, and was easier to take care of.

You could have fun on it riding, you could have fun on anything riding it, no fucking shit it's am otorcycle, but owning it would get old after about a week, and you'd start to wish you had a different bike. A better bike just opens you up to more ways to have fun and sometimes even fewer ways to experience unfun frustration.

Because it's easy to ride, so you have more time to focus on the road?

I've ridden 6 bikes, one of them was a XJ6.
It was far from the worst, which is a 2017 GSA.

This is my 450 and one of my buddies 500exc, despite him having at least 10hp and 30lbs less weight, every time we would trade bikes for a while he didn't want to give mine back.

Spec sheets aren't the end all be all of bike comparisons.
