1st was a fine game that needed a lot more polish. After playing VC3 I realized that the series had reached it's potential until they made revolution and dropped the gameplay that they build up at that point.

1 disappointed me in a lot of ways to be honest, especially after how hard people hyped it up. The only thing that I can say is actually good is the visual style. Granted, I admit that it has potential, but the second game somehow made it even worse that I couldn't even finish it.

For me gameplay was a interesting twist to the turn based formula but was too easy to break AKA scout defense and rushing to the flag.
Story was crap as expected of the typical rpg and hardly any characters got developed besides the main 5.
3 fixed it so much with a better story (still crap but better at least), every character having their own side mission to flesh them out and gameplay that challenges you by utilizing everyone.

Oh yeah forgot to mention that, the gameplay concept itself was great. I actually enjoyed the first few missions because of that, but that's before I found out how easy is it to break the game.

On that note though, I seriously don't think the gameplay in Revolution looks bad on its own. It wasn't that bad in the demo I played at least, but who knows how it actually is (and it's also kinda difficult to trust people's testimony on this with how biased people are against the change).

Story is really my main complain about it, it was just... bad. Probably just because my standards for story is different than most, but I really couldn't get any enjoyment out of the story.

I'm kind of waiting they get ported or some HD version pops up...I wish.

I get ya. Story was terrible and was easy to break.
Playing the Revolution demo back when they released the first demo was a slap in the face.
After they "fixed" it with a new demo I still wasn't satisfied.
With the $40 price point on PS4 I don't know if they don't think it will sell because of the controversy or or they don't have the confidence it will score well in order for people to pick it up since reviews influence people to buy it or not.

After playing Disgaea series I don't know if I can handle any other srpg that isn't as fast despite Disgaea not being that great of an srpg.

Yeah, I can see that. The porn scenes are fucking laughable how abruptly they come. And people still complain when Aquaplus doesn't do porn scenes? The story isn't grabbing either. But on the other hand, it isn't that long of a game anyway so I thought I could just finish it. But seriously, these porn scenes are not great, even the first Uta had better constructed scenes in my opinion. Well, Octavias was pretty funny.

For a HD version, they should add a lot of slice of life things really. There's not enough backstory for my taste, certain characters would really benefit from more of a daily life situation. Shit, I would love to see more dumb shit Morgan does daily. But I also like dumb anime girls.

I hope that's the case when I eventually reach the climax then. I felt like the SK games moved faster with their plots and said what they needed to say more concisely. But on the flipside, this shit definitely PLAYS better than SK.

Well yeah, at least for me. Could be entirely my shitty laptop but for example, every time I check rankings online it crashes. Every fucking time. And not a single good melee match. Could be my shitty PC, but at least on Vita there isn't connection problems when fighting two people on melee, that usually works without problems.

Sorry for offtopic but I was looking forward to play some VD melee.
