Back in the latter half of the 80's, Peugeot actually made a near-220 mph missile (tested and verified, original projections were around 187 mph) with a 680 hp tarbo'd V6 from a Group C racer, AWD, four wheel steering and a truckload of those neat 80's electronic doohickeys. Naturally, they only built a couple as a dickwaving exercise for their motorsport arm and never even remotely entertained the thought of any kind of production.

All of those are just cars they already have with the same new powerplant
its a much safer way to do business than developing a V10 for a new chassis, then making a new chassis for another car with one of your V6s then getting that V10 transplanted into a truck
Not to mention develop the V12 engine on the ME4-12 along with its chassis and the other aborted cars they had almost done before Damlier fucked them over
