So I've generated a world, haven't played in ages, went large cos go big or go home

I've so far managed to craft a full set of cactus armour, a cactus sword, I've got a furnace, an anvil, a workbench, the demolitionist, the trader, and I've got a net, pick, axe, hammer

What the hell do I do to get actual armour, like Iron and so on? I've got Iron bars, do I need more to unlock the craft options?

If you ever wonder about things like this, go give the item to the Guide. He will tell you what you can make out of that item, how much of that item you need, and even tell you which other items are needed to make something.

Before I replay terraria for the umpteenth time, are there any mods worth looking at?
Terraria is a pretty tight experience and I wouldn't say it needs mods to be good, unlike other pixel-block games.
But I don't want to entirely dismiss the idea either.

So i'm 600 hours in but i never modded terraria and wanted to ask if you have mod recommendations for a mod newcomer.

What's the point of this game? I just bought it since it was on sale and I've seen so many people with retarded hours in it but I don't even know what I should be doing. I'm just getting lost in caves I can't jump out of and dying to enemies that take twenty hits to kill.

Terraria is one of those games where the ammount of content is overwhelming to a new player. This is one of the few games where i recommend using the wiki, and i'm sure a lot of people ITT agree.

BTFA and Thorium when it updates. Pick whatever small qol mods you want to run as well. Magic Storage, Recipe Browser, Boss Checklist, our Veeky Forumsmod, Vanilla Tweaks, WMITF, Summoner's Assocation, and Fargo's are what I run alonsgside them, but I ignore most of the Fargo content. The new dual wielding mod by one of the game's devs looks nice, and so does the one that adds quests. Might try those.

In all my hours of playing i've never had that happen. It has almost ALWAYS been in the FUCKING desert.
I've had it land on Floating islands though, and at least twice the game has either bugged and not spawned one, or it landed in the ocean beyond where you can go or see

My body is ready for new shit.

Let them take their time. It'll be out at the end of the month. It's a big content update, not just a conversation to the last tmodloader version like all the other mods that have updated.

I decided to start a new save just for kicks. The first fucking meteorite that spawns was in a corruption chasm. Had to bomb the whole thing and just say fuck it and wait for the next spawn. Of course the next one was in the corruption chasm directly adjacent. Pic related.

Wait a few days for Thorium.
Read for some suggestions.
Calamity is a meme but some people like it.
Tremor is the worst.

Understandable. Honestly, give it a shot with some quality of life mods but don't try it with other content mods like thorium or calamity or you'll feel overwhelmed by the content it adds. Tremor follows the quantity over quality notion.

Because people keep dling tremor and putting it under heavy load. it'll take a while before you can download it.

If you took the craftable shields from tremor and removed everything else, it would be far better than tremor.

This , also some of the accessories are pretty good for summoner , you can get pretty powerful

I've never had a meteorite land in a forest. Not once. Nine times out of ten it's in the desert. On the rare occasion it lands in the corruption, it's always down a chasm.
