What do you all actually think about Skoda? I rarely see it even mentioned here.

They were cooler when their cars were rear-engined and shitty
i've got a 2015 vrs diesel.
Great daily. Nothing amazing but giant boot, good empeegees and decently fun every now and then.
iirc they're getting the gimp treatment soon for being better than VW
skoda? i'll tell you what i think about them
*flussshhhh*
Cheaper and nicer looking VWs
Solid cars and good value but as
points out they may start losing some of their build quality to make them not such a competitor to VW.
>Basically a VW with a different badge and cheaper
this but more reliable
VWs except cheaper and better
Won't be this way for long because VW can't accept the reality that Skoda is found g better than them
Since I'm 20 and in the UK I was essentially stuck with 1 litre hatches when I was choosing a car, so went with whatever was cheapest to insure with as large an interior as possible. I drive a 2011 1.2l long wheelbase 'Kombi' Fabia, pic related. Basically a Polo clone, it's got the same dash, much the same interior, and same engine.
The Kombis come with the "High Torque Performance" 12 valve engine so it's slightly quicker than some of the other hatches friends around my area drive. I have also beat a couple (probably slowest trim) BMW 1 series in a straight line with it. Not a fast car by any means, and handling is pretty meh.
55-60 MPGs highway, 40-50 around town, decently comfortable and practical. Maintenance is dead cheap too.
My best mate also had a £500 2002 Octavia 1.9 TDI, he drove it from 167,000 to 225,000 miles within a year, had collapsed suspension for a while that made it look pretty killer, but never had any other issues.
OP Drives a 2011 Octavia TSI Manual Wagon

N A H
>Literally called the High Torque Performance (HTP) in the manuals.
It's slow as shit, but it's faster than some of the other cars that are also slow as shit. A snail is faster than a disabled snail, and a 75hp 1.2l beats a 65hp 1.2l.
Never heard of them.
> 75hp 1.2l
>I have also beat a couple (probably slowest trim) BMW 1 series in a straight line with it.
That is literally not possible.
I'm intrigued, but only because they aren't available in the U.S. of A. That said, I wouldn't buy a VW with Veeky Forums's money.
Not sold in Merica
Therefore its COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT
gfs father drives a 2002 skoda octavia
feels like a shit copy of the passat
it’s literally the same car but it just looks and feels so cheap
>a car from 2011 has 75bhp and is marketed as 'high performance torque'
that's literally less powerful than my old 2004 1.2 Fiesta
best version of vw because it's not overpriced.
>>I have also beat a couple (probably slowest trim) BMW 1 series in a straight line with it.
NA sw20 reks bimmers up to 330 in drag.
Welcome to the real world fag
Great cars for great value, americans are missing out on good stuff.
They're used here as police cars too
Since I live in Czech Republic they are everywhere.
Quite decent for daily driving but every time I see some riced out mk1 Octavia TDI with ugly spoiler, stickers and shitty aftermarket lights it just makes me laugh.
pic. related
>pay 55.000 euros for superb avant if you want an actual car
>not overpriced
I like mine - practical and quick enough, lots more room inside than the Golf or Focus alternatives.
>NA sw20 reks bimmers up to 330 in drag
Sure. Totally possible.
You're not mad because you're poor at all.
Hey I kinda like the background in this. Where do you live user?
