Reminder that you can't ignore me forever, user
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
FUCKOFFFUCKOFFFUCKOFF
Dam it, I was having a nice day OP.
Now that's one really scary pumpkin
>missing O2 sensor on a 20 year old car
Yes I can and will ignore you forever
How can you be sure there's nothing else going on :^)
>>missing O2 sensor on a 20 year old car
>VOLUNTARILY paying out your ass for fucking gas
It's like you have too much money.
I have it scanned like once a year at auto zone to make sure
I actually get better mileage than the factory rating so idk how much it would do
> O2 sensor going off because I removed the cats
I’m okay with not giving a fuck.
>I actually get better mileage than the factory rating
user, you drive a miracle vehicle
>I actually get better mileage than the factory rating
Challenge accepted
fuck you
how did u guys drive with cel on? when check engine lights on engine stuck below 2000rpm can't go faster than 2000rpm.
2spoopy6x10'23me
Maybe his car was tumed for power instead of milage so it runs lean now and saves fuel
>tfw my Impreza keeps giving me this error all the time because "muh high exhaust gas temperature"
Running lean will melt something.
What do you mean?
>GM product
lol
Yes I can
Lincoln LS?
>tfw had timing chain code for over a year
yeah nigga
I'm pretty sure if the oxygen sensor doesn't work the ECU runs a rich mixture just in case.
So used to it that it feels wrong when it turns off for whatever reason and I know there's something wrong but the car is not telling me.
What car? 2000 RPM limit is more likely a 'limp home mode' due to a bad sensor. A bad gas cap (for example) shouldn't restrict RPM even when turning CEL on.
>you can't ignore me forever
No. But I can reset you.
>OBD II P0174 Fuel System Too Lean (Bank 2)
>In other cases, there may be performance problems, such as a lack of power on acceleration and some "coughing" or misfiring
>The vehicle may have trouble idling, especially when warm or when sitting at a stoplight
caused by
>PCM software needs to be updated
>Vacuum leaks (Intake Manifold Gaskets, vacuum hoses, PCV hoses, etc.)
>Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF)
>Plugged Fuel Filter or weak Fuel Pump
>Plugged or dirty Fuel Injectors
is my engine fucked if i ignore this or will it just continue to be lethargic and have weird idling issues?
Its ok, mine only comes on when driving at over 130km/h
Try me, bitch.
The immobilizer fucked up one time and now you are all lit up, fuck you mate.
*teleports behind you*
*unseathes OBD II reader*
>heh, nothin personal kid
*Deletes codes*
>Comes back in 40 miles
Only time I've ever seen my CEL (check engine light) was after I changed the spark plugs and didn't have the coil connector all the way in.
Seriously people if you CEO is on its I usually a leak in the emissions control system(charcoal canister, purge valve, etc and associated parts) not a big deal unless it's the EGR valve or something mechanically fucked up.
The check engine light can also be a mechanical problem with the engine or transmission. These are usually indicated by a FLASHING CEL and the vehicle should not be driven to prevent damage.
If you have misfire as the spark plugs aren't firing, or the injectors broken or any one of the million things that can go wrong. The CEL will stay lit but the engine computer will also use more fuel than usual as a safety mechanism. Basically more fuel inside the cylinder the colder the explosion, less potential for damage. When the computers tell the engine to run this way they run "rich" as in the use an excessive amount of gasoline.
So in conclusion if your check engine light is on fix it sooner than later as you are wasting money driving it around and potentially making the repair bill bigger.
>no cel
feels good man
My CEL light has been on for over 2 years due to O2 sensor. I still get great milage on my daily driver Celica , it reaches Lift earlier too
I can, will, and do, since it’s just an error code telling me the gas cap is off even though it is on.
The sensor wiring was chewed by fucking mice and I can’t be asked to rip apart the wiring to fix it.
I will because the code is 0420 and you keep turning on and off every few months
tfw get 26mpg out of my 22mpg car
I was capable of the same thing with my 80s shitbox. Probably because of modern tires, synthetic gear oil, and aftermarket ignition parts.
Yes I can
>his car is new enough to have a check engine light
B..b..but it's the only bulb still working in my instrument panel so I can read my speedometer at night.
How lazy are you? Dash lights should be extremely easy to replace.
No car runs lean without an O2 sensor. Running lean at high power is a good way to break rings and melt pistons. Also put a hole in the block.
It's an EVAP code so I don't give a shit about it.
A faulty O2 sensor could cause it to run lean.
Fuck you check engine light. I removed your bulb ages ago.
jokes on you i don't see one.
could be a flaky upper O2 as well
start checking things
>Downstream O2 sensor is causing my check engine light
>Can't break old O2 sensor free, have replacement in hand
>Can't use cruise because of the downstream O2 sensor
What the fuck Subaru.
sh-shut up
I don't have you, cunt.
>Check engine light has been on for like 8 years
>Mechanics say each time that it's just the light and to ignore it since there's nothing to fix
Thank you Chrysler
0420 blaze it
>check engine light has been on in my truck for probably 7+ years
its amazing how liberating it is to not fucking care.
Right, but that's not the same as no O2 sensor.
>CEL comes on
>redline it
>goes away
eh
Well, technically that means the check engine light is malfunctioning...
So, there is something to fix...
...
>running lean to save that $$$ but produce a shitton of nox
>engine stutters under a certain RPM
>idles too low and almost dies at stop lights
>abundance of oil on 2 out of 4 spark plugs
>no check engine light ever
Thanks for nothing OBDII
>tfw get 14mpg out of my 17mpg rated truck
It hurts guys
Let me guess, you can cook minute rice in 59 seconds as well?
Jokes on you bitch, none of my cars have check engine lights because they were around before you.
PGM-FI
couple sessions of pb blaster + wire brush
then re soaking with pb again should be no problem.
>86 Celica
>diving at 180
>light comes on
>I wonder what that could be
>slow down
>goes out
>everything is fine now
it doesn't have a memory, it only throws a light if something is bad and goes out when its good again
>tfw getting 20 mpg out of a 17 mpg rated truck
Feels good
>FLASHING CEL and the vehicle should not be driven to prevent damage.
oh shit i always thought flashing ment its just a warning and it always being on was worse
>VOLUNTARILY paying out your ass for fucking gas
Not if it's the rear o2, it has no bearing on the fuel maps, it's only job is to check if the cat is working.
> driving at 180
> Speedo only goes to 150
*breathes in* Boy.
>rx8
>light comes on for rear 02
>change rear 02
>light comes back on a mile later
>check for exhaust leaks before cat
>replace exhaust seals
>light still on
>drop cat
>cats clogged
>gut cat
>forever cel
>Scan code
>"Coolant temp lower than set by thermostat"
>Check sensor reading: 188.6C
W/e must have been a one off thing
>Clear it
>Comes back 2 days later
But why.
I just popped the dash and took out the lightbulb
its km/h
speedo stops at 190 and is limited
so I only sit at about 180 when I feel like flying.
My truck has been bitching at me in this manner for the last 62,000 miles. Hopefully the light will burn out soon.
