Nah, at that point I just leave them to go work on another fort.

how tight is that? The Age of the Dragon. Fun!

what's the habbening, OP?

Just started the fort today, still new to the game.

Ids a snibbity snabbening.

Are those small rooms supposed to be jail cells or bedrooms?

The lines? Yeah, bedrooms, not done with them yet. Unless you mean the 5x5 rooms, they're for workshops and other stuff.

are there any tools/mods that make digging/planning out circles fast?

>Dwarf has to climb over furniture to get out of his/her room

dfhack has one, if you just want to plan it out, jvanegmond.github.io/dfplanner/

I used to make giant rooms for dwarves, but I seen some people used lines and wanted to try it out. Easier to make. They might be terrible though. What's your room design?

Dorfanon here, where do I send Dorf's updated profile for the tourney?

Last fort was 3x3 because I love my Dwarves.

Eh, I can give them better rooms later on if they all don't die.

Both, I would guess. Good to have multi-purpose spaces.

dfhack digcircle: included with dfhack
>181571228
But that is pretty much impossible in the dorf world.
In this thread, or to (I think) [email protected]

kek underrated

Tourneyanon, are you still lurking about?

>thinking meme-rilla isn't gonna get a hammer to the brain

Dorf's updated stuff:
3 points remaining

Iron Short Sword
Iron Mail Shirt
Iron Greaves
Iron Helm
Unicorn Leather High Boots
Unicorn Leather Gloves
Olm Man Leather Shield

Proficient Dodger
Proficient Armour User
Proficient Swordsdwarf
Skilled Fighter
Skilled Shield User

Even if Annie Mayhammer gets past Gorilla she has absolutely zero chance against either Crabo or Herme.

How do points work in the tournament?
How it the points won after each round calculated?

Your starting points + double any points you have left over

How do you feel about adventure mode?

I always make 3x3 bedrooms. It's easier when you use macros.

Incredible potential but underdeveloped compared to fortress mode. It'll be the best roguelike ever when it's finished.

>I can target every single eye of a hydra, but I can't cook this meat.
>Nobody on earth sells a fucking waterskin
>Nobody sells armor in my size, either

>when it's finished

>implying ever

You're a good man.

just put water in your backpack m8

how bad are werethings once they infiltrate your base?

Depending on how many dwarves they bite, they range from a minor annoyance to your-strenght-has-crumbled bad.

Isolate in your dump pit and feed prisoners

>once they infiltrate your base
You've got to sacrifice every dorf that was bitten. If you lost the combat logs you're fucked man, game over, game over.

Ive got to pray I got the last one then. Didn't even have a militia when it came

how come all the blocks are rectangles instead of perfect squares?

not bad at all if you handle it right away

They're an abstract representation of a bunch of bricks.
I've never seen a perfectly cubical brick IRL

here we go again

Well, I lost

muh circles are all elongated though

It's like the part in the movie "The Thing' where they strap everyone the suspect of being infected down so they can test them. Except even more people die.

Begone, page 10

that's a very strange-looking penus

>first strange mood is a glass maker on a map with no sand and the last caravan just left.
I'm gonna dump his body into the volcano and put a slab behind a locked door, fuck this guy

I started playing with dfhack, and I doubt it's to blame, but my guys aren't moving shit to the very first stockpile I make from the wagon that's open to all general goods
wtf

be more specific
what are you trying to move and what is the stockpile set to?
is this outside or inside?

moving items from starting wagon from +1 to a stockpile on -2 with everything but (corpses, refuse, stone, gems, wood) enabled
duders are just hanging up there at the wagon with no jobs, and they all have hauling enabled
there is a path that the miners have been going up and down along

try a bunch of different stockpiles, like cloth/finished goods
screenshots also help

>Nobody on earth sells a fucking waterskin
Just grab one from the human keeps or dwarven fortresses
>Nobody sells armor in my size, either
Well that's realistic if you're from a race that doesn't make armor like animal people

>Myne square ASCII
>Text Will Be Text with upscaled vanilla font
>Multilevel view
I think I've done it.
My game finally looks literally perfect.
I just need to make a fort that doesn't look like shit now

A massive brawl just killed 8 of my men. what the flip

this looks good ima use it

Screenshots of aftermath?

wtf i want it

I think it was a weregecko. Im not sure where it came from because I didn't get an alert. They already cleaned up the bodies.

How's come there was no alert? I thought that it always told you when dwarves were being attacked.

I don't know. I think it was an immigrant that came from a neighboring town that was taken by weregeckos. maybe I missed the message or something

Literally download lazy newb pack
Already comes with Myne pre-installed, save this image in data/art
In "Graphics" change tileset to ASCII, set print mode to TWBT, then go to Customize, FONT curses_1600x1200.png, GRAPHICS_FONT Myne.png
Here's my colors.txt
dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Color_scheme#Dark_Sand

>Just grab one from the human keeps or dwarven fortresses

Last game I went through like 5 of those damn keeps looking for a waterskin.
And the last fortress I went to was a confusing maze with no shops.
Shit's fucked, man. I know some folks are willing to put up with it, but no more of that bullshit for me, thanks. I've probably played five weeks worth of adventure mode and had all of five minutes worth of fun, the rest taken up by grinding and wandering and trying to work around all the broken and missing shit.

Alright, I get it now

Got a were-elephant just a few hours ago. Hadn't gotten a military up at that point. Killed 6 dwarves, maimed another 6. Been awhile since I last played so I thought that was the end of it. In ten minutes I had at least 3 more of them, and my fortress was covered in gore.

>20x24 set
>rough and pixelated
>bleh

I enjoy the aliased vanilla text, but if I wanted something smoother that'd be my first choice. Great taste.

You know what you must do.

Were elephant fortress.

Yeah the vectored sets are fucking fantastic.

Brewer skill only affects how fast the brewing process is done, right? There's no quality levels or anything.
I'm starting to think buying any brewer points at embark is a waste.

I don't want to start using lnp now when a new update is coming

Then use it until the update

Giving my dwarves some living space this time around instead of a 1x3 shack for almost everyone.
But I'm still gonna divide by class/wealth!!

yeah
one plump helm becomes 5 wine

>playing an update on release state
>not waiting for the hotfixes
>not waiting for your QoL DFhack plugins to be updated
>literally suffering a worse experience and ruining your first impression because you're an impatient dumbo

>making your dwarves live in the dirt

So what's good to bring on embarks? Can we start a tier list?
From what I gather:
Really Good
>max grower
>Mason
>your miners of course
>armorsmith, weaponsmith
>cook if you want to empty out caravans without trap components
>2 discipline, 2 teacher, some combat skills for best militia cap
>2 judge of intent, 2+ appraiser is nice to have
Meh
>carpenter (it's literally just beds)
>mechanic (depends on how much of a pussy you are)
>fisherdorf (decent if combined with cook, gives tons of bones, largely unnecessary though)
Bad
>stonecrafter (shitter bait)
>brewer
>woodcutter (not since nutrees)
>ambusher (not since bolt nerf, can hunt better via melee with o-r-o)

one with the farms n shiet

this was my last one

[SKILL:1:MINING:3]
[SKILL:1:JUDGING_INTENT:2]
[SKILL:1:APPRAISAL:3]

Literally why

Adventurer mode without dfhack is almost unchanged and a great way to experience crazy shit after an update hits, really all you're missing is being able to teleport around/hack your appearance/race/swap bodies/set shit on fire/launch yourself around/ghost yourself/advfort on top of your campstructions.

So I didn't really look to hard at my embark screen, is there a way to find out if I'm neighboring a goblin civ?
Also does having goblin neighbors guarantee sieges? Or are there alternative sieges if you don't have goblins? I have a fort worth of like 300,000 dwarfbucks and 100 population but no one has raided me

an invincible coati head is bringing my FPS down under 10. fuck everything

Atomsmash it

use DFhack's exterminate command

already deleted the world.

maybe next time.

>get ready to go out to eat with your kids
>forget your phone after locking the door
>"Welp, family suicide!"

thats kind of a false equivolence

buildings are a good source of fort value iirc

Not him but I like to start with a high-skill architect. You can muddle through with a lot of things but raising the architect skill takes effin ages.

>encounters annoyance which can be fixed with a little effort
>deletes world instead

Seems pretty apt to me.

deleting a game world is hardly the same as ending your existence

It's a silly overreaction though.

>exterminate undead
poof, done

anyone with expertise want to comment on this embark? I might use it myself, trading brewing for wood cutting

>A kea has stolen a (copper battle axe)!
So this is going to be this kind of embark.
