as far as i understand, even if they havent abandoned yet, if they havent gotten xp in the game, it wont count. Its the same idea as if the player is disconnected and first blood happens. Technically their hero was in the game, but they were afk. If you think about it, it really wouldnt make sense the other way around. Why punish 4 players because someone picked a hero, loaded into the game and then did nothing for 5 mins?
