Thing is P1's hama/mudo actually did some damage if it didn't outright kill the enemy.

I don't think I even used Hama/Mudo in 3, it always felt like cheating, and unlike other examples of cheating in SMT, it didn't work on the bosses.
It's why I'm glad P5 brought back Eiha and Kouga, more elements to play with.
I wonder how many elements we have to get before One-More becomes unweildy.

I think they changed it in 4A but in 4 it drastically increases your damage, evasion, and hit rate, as well as nulling all weaknesses on top of that
