Pros don't play the same game as us lowly smallbrains. Pros draft someone else to do Immortal damage because pros don't do the "defend/race" shit that happens in normal games.

Slam build is decent AoE dps albeit not bursty. Bruiser stitches is decent though weaker than Sonya/Leo/etc

Tank stitches is pretty good anti mage if anub is banned/taken and still has beefy HP even if no armor. Plus late game stuns are good for him.

Hooks get picks, either hook + gorge + towers or hook + someone following up with a stun.

Play style basically boils down to 1) do decent damage at the cost of some survivability, or 2) be tanky and peel/slow but do piss poor dmg.

If your team can follow up hooks/gorges then you can turn a lot of key fights into 5v4s. Tbh he has a weird combination of abilities, where if you aren't playing with potatoes he can be more impactful than Diablo/Mura/Jo, and prob on par or a step below Arthas. Still loses to Dehaka and Anub though.

In HL you will not ever have 5 people who are all amazing at the game enough to do pro strats. Sad but true, so their strats and drafts don't mean shit to us.

Silver meta counts more if you're in silver, yes, you dumb mother fucker.

Trying to emulate pro strats in any rank that's not like, GM is going to result in your shit kicked in when no one coordinates.

How would you react if 6 months ago someone told you that Stukov won't summon any infested terrans and his entire "fantasy" will be teduced to just spreading virus and having a big arm?

Fucking Blizz and their recent fear of clutter with summons. First they fucked Probe, now him. But all those virus icons over everyone and friggin SPRAYS are absolutely enchancing the visuals of game.

It's a bit of a blurry line though when you consider how potato bronze/silver/whatever are.

Malthael is literally "mark everything in sight and mash q with your face to win 1v3" though

If you played sand kind Anub is likely what you want, though his ult is more of a single target thing, but with massive impact.
Other than that, ETC is basically a tank with Enigma's ult so you can probably figure out why that's great
Both are pretty cheap too, come to think of it.

One thing you're going to realise is that heroes either have cc or damage but not both because a hero that has both in this game with no item counterplay will just dominate.

Anub'arak has SK's burrowstrike and Nyx's Impale so that's probably the closest you'll get but again, Anub alone can't solo carry/do damage but he is amazing at fucking with the enemy team.
ETC is also a tank who charges in and out of the enemy team.

You're probably going to have to try out a few heroes and figure out which ones you like because there aren't that many obvious Dota parallels - even if it seems like it - because Blizzard is doing its own thing (and Dota was doing its own thing when it started taking concepts from WC3 anyway).

I find that owning a hero doesn't automatically motivate me to play them because there are just so many to level so I leave Artanis unbought until he drops from a loot chest. I already mastered him so there isn't a huge rush anymore.

I usually just spend all my time during Artanis free weeks playing only Artanis so it works out.

Ranked in HotS and Overwatch is just grinding as many games as you can play, you don't really need to be good to get higher. Also, mute everyone on the start of the game. People never contribute anything.

I just really don't even know what to do. We were winning this game, we lost one shrine, and everyone was just at each others throats the rest of the time.

Fuck man it's just depressing like why the fuck are people like this? Are these actual adults? I actually think this game is fun as hell and want to play ranked but the majority of my games just turn into this
