So I've been gone for some time from this thread after Rance VI got released because there wasn't really anything new aside from Sengoku mods but I do check Mangagamer's twitter from time to time and I just learned that Evenicle got announced.

It's not a Rance game and it's one of the Alicesoft games Japanese anons said would probably not get a translation so it must have been quite the surprise for a some people.

Still, It's pretty good news, I've heard lots of good stuff from the game.

Will Alicesoft ever consider making a sequel to the Dai games? I don't mean a new Dai- game, I mean something like Daiakuji 2 or Daibanchou 2. The epilogue cgs of Daibanchou made me really want to know about what happens to the characters afterwards, especially Kunagi's cg. It wouldn't necessarily involve Japan since I think Kunagi's ending had them trying to close a hell hole in Europe I believe. But going to each country/continent and closing its hell hole would be able to expand the game while still keeping the initial plot so it's not something the writers have to pull out of their ass to explain why they're doing what they're doing.

Besides, how much more grandiose can they make a Dai- game and still have it involve Japan. Daiakuji's title refers to a person and takes place in...Osaka was it? It was only part of Japan. Daibanchou's title refers to a position (as in bigger than a person) and takes place in all (or most) of Japan. Daiteikoku's title goes from a position being great to an entire empire being great and it uses Japan as a homebase. What's the next Dai- game going to be called: Daikami? Where you play as a new up and coming god of the Japanese pantheon and you have to conquer the gods' territories/regions/control all the way up to the likes of Amaterasu or even Izanagi/Izanami (fucking all the goddesses and bromancing the gods of course). Actually, that sounds like it would be a fun game. And if it's made in the same vein as other Dai- games (territory conquering) then it might be fun capturing and fighting with their pantheon of gods and goddesses

But what if I watch both?

That was obviously trolling. Besides, how many 8 year olds (Aru was around in 2016, maybe even 2015) have an attention span long enough to actually read stuff? And the ones that do are more interested in books instead of porn games which they likely wouldn't have access to. It would require too much work for a kid that young (going into settings to change the app locale to japan) that they would lose interest and want to do something else.

Alicesoft has almost never done direct sequels for anything besides Rance. Even if the Dai series wasn't dead, they won't make a sequel for those games now. They were conceived as single games, and will remain like that.

Yeah, there was a pretty blatant hint in the beginning of the year post for Mangagamer for Yaegashi Nan (domiNANt), but Evenicle being too new made me think that the blatantly obvious hint was referring to something weird and obscure or we were getting Drapeko somehow.

It does make me wonder what non-Rance games will be released in the future. I get the feeling that if MG wanted to do the Tsuma series, they would have done it by now. I hope Escalayer and Ixseal make it at least.

They don't have to use the easily offendable Gods though. Even Japan alone has a ton of Gods to use, if spread out, there's always Norse, Chinese and Greek as the popular choice, not to mention the obscure ones like Haitian Voodoo.

Christians don't really go up in arms that much. There are always a few complainers, but that's every religion. Islam doesn't really care about Jesus. The only prophet they have that they they actually care about is Muhammad.

Mangagamer, while the fastest of the VN translation companies, still isn't very fast. The programming bottleneck is minimized thanks to SLC, but that still leaves the beta testing bottleneck. My guess is early next year.

At least getting Ran and Souun back together in Ran route nets you a CG, while Love Ran gets you nothing except Ran being sorta tsundere with you.

I had a similar idea, actually. I called it Daimessiah though, and you played a 'Zeus' figure and fought with other gods for territory and faith. There was a shota Priapus that rode on a donkey he named Hestia, Bro-Jesus with a pompadour, lots of sexy goddesses, shrine maidens, nuns... ect ect.

It was more of a joke tangent than anything. But a part of me is morbidly curious.

My idea for the next Dai was to keep it at the same scale but maybe change it to World War I because really, once you go world, it's hard to go bigger.

Going into gods is an interesting idea though. Feels crazy enough to be done by Alicesoft and there's a lot of material you can get out of it.

Rance 5D is when Rance is at his most chill. He doesn't even kill the haniwa on Rizna when it would have been possible and when that haniwa has basically become plot irrelevant.
