Kanran is still weaker and less useful than Nova. A whole PP bar of Kanrans won't kill lots of XH mobs.

Maidoll has been putting up the whole ball everywhere but honestly Sword Gear is just kinda annoying. Sword has bigger problems that actually keep it chained down like every PA that does more DPS than Bouncer being completely dependent upon the enemy being fat in the right places or bothering to attack you enough.

Depends on your class but really you just have to pick up a decent weapon, grind it up a bit, and max its element. You can use the story units until SH, then just buy a set of cheap 11* units off the visiphone.
