Rea's route is better.

Marie's route is Mercurius's play going off, basically, without a hitch. The finale goes a bit differently from what he expected, but 90% of it goes right according to plan. It has a lovely ending, but you always feel like it's following a script to a T.

Rea's route is the play starting from the first act, and then collapsing into flame as all the actors decide that they aren't satisfied with their roles and start burning the set down. In the true ending, the curtains are finally pulled away and Mercurius pulled out to account for his actions.
