Well, that's because I've been (shit)posting and lurking on /agdg/ threads for quite some time, already. Duh. But enough of that noise - I want to yesdev, and I will make it, starting now.
I said that I will make it, damnit !
sweating intensifies
Thank you for your advice. That will definitely help.
Chase Wood
i'm sorry i didn't have any anime still to use nearby

I dunno if anyone cares but i fixed slopes in my pathfinding now :)

You just had to ask! I have a lot.

gamedev is a hard life
Xavier Young
Added eggs (~20 secs), don't have a sprite for it yet.
Basically it spawns (slightly weaker) monsters continuously. Hopefully it will fix stick-to-edge tactics being too convenient. Now you have to hunt for eggs too.

>can't draw, not smart, not creative There are people like this on this thread RIGHT NOW, who unironically think they can make games. Like I get that you don't do anything besides sit in front of a computer all day but that doesn't automatically make you gamedev material.
Dylan Miller
it's like you are talking right to me. creepy
James Hernandez
>googum is unironically proud of this
Dominic Stewart
so you used your monster heads for an egg? lol
Jacob Parker
Even Nenecchi made a game, why can't you?
Easton Cooper
dude that's Veeky Forums as fuck! xDD :)
Tyler Carter
God, just how attention crazed are you?
Dominic Diaz
>Nenecchi your games are about as real as your girlfriend
Brody Hall
Finding art is hard, will replace it once I find something.
Jaxson Phillips
gotta get steam's attention somehow or they're never going to let my games go. im just going to keep insulting all of their customers until they give up.
Aaron Edwards
I miss being a little lad and believing games were literally magic. I wish I had never seen what goes into one.
Jace Taylor
...
Benjamin Campbell
You are so fucking disgusting please go away PLEASE
Ethan James
I think it's more likely they'll just remove your games.
Lucas Peterson
okay, but replace the monsters heads with whatever egg you find also
I'm gonna clone your game and make the eggs dumpsters and the monsters homeless people
You know how you'd get attention? Live stream your suicide, and you'll go down in AGDG history. You'll probably live eternally as a meme on other boards as well.
Noah Bell
>mixels >rixels >fixels >grixels >3dixels >mfw

Thats insane, they banned you for that? What did they even ban you from? The discussion forum for the game? A permanent ban, too. Shows moderation shouldn't be in the hands of "community members" unless you as a dev can choose them.
Bentley Morgan
>rox-moxels
from the wording googum was the one who banned a user, and they reversed it
Ian Ross
how exactly does copyright law work when it comes to video game music? doom took a lot of inspiration from panter, metallica and slayer. if the melody in my game's soundtrack is too similar to someone else's song but the instrumentals etc are different will i get in trouble? how similar is too similar?
Chase Walker
Don't worry, soon there won't be any discussion forums at all! Googem always has the last laugh.
Brandon Brooks
Thats even more disturbing, that Steam could override a dev from banning someone from the games forum
Nicholas Cook
Idea: 2D physics platformer focused around cute witches
Jordan Hughes
same as any music copyright. just don't blatantly copy anything. but feel free to borrow ideas that aren't principal themes
Jace Fisher
i banned some guy who was slangin pol memes and put "low-energy cuck" as his ban reason and he couldnt handle the bantz.
Jason Lee
What ever became of moxeldev? Their game had several complete features but never got much respect
Jacob Moore
from the steam forum. if googum were to operate his own forum for social dickwaving whatever then he could ban and call anyone a cuck all he wants all day long
but these are forums provided by steam.
Jordan Diaz
You are forgetting graxels.
Cameron Brooks

I feel like they are good enough.
Haven't worked on gameplay balance too much, I might consider it in future.
Mason Williams
i've been in /agdg/ a lot of times and i've only seen maybe mixels and rixels explained, and no one ever explains anything about rotatedev, they just mention rotate as some kind of inside joke, just shows that most of you are a bunch of manchildren who spend years and years shitposting here and you don't really make games
Nathaniel Scott
I'm not surprised you've sunk to posting reprimands again, after all you are the retard who doxed himself in here for no reason for attention and then got banned and tweeted about it like it was a cool stunt. Sad motherfucker.
Jonathan Lopez
>listening to youtube.com/watch?v=hb0P9jHV8dQ on loop >implementing (simple) features >finishing a glass of milk >not even midnight yet so I can still get an early night This is pretty comfy

So I finally added a dialogue system for in-game characters to further explain some situations as some testers didn't know what the fuck is going on with just gestures and stuff.
So to not break the gameplay, these are optional story tidbits. You can interact with dialogue if you want when it's available, where game goes into "pause" and doesn't let you move on until dialogue is over (you can skip it too). If you already saw the dialogue, it gets marked with the red X (programmer graphics) so you don't repeat the already seen dialogue.
This dialogue might only be available during some states, but I think it's noticeable enough for people to see it and click on it if interested. It also adds more personality to characters (all current dialogue is obviously placeholder)
Do you guys like this system?
Colton Hall
>i j u s t w a n t m y g a m e s o f f s t e a m Why? Literally nobody cares where your games are hosted.
Luke Butler
you still havent sent me the dildos wheres the dildos?
Ryder Williams
Still can't figure out why you get a random bounce here and there, instead of "sticking" to the surface.
I'd love to read some concrete math or just an article breaking down some games with movement mechanics like Mirrors Edge, or Titanfall or even PoP, feels like that could help a lot.
Anthony Lee
boards.fireden.net/vg/thread/147553724/#147554547 this and fuck off with muh pixel "art" anyway. you just want to take the easy way out by avoiding 3d so you can do your mspaint "art" but you end up wasting years for shit results
Adam Martin
okay here's how it will go, I will replace your monster sprites with hobo sprites and your eggs with dumpsters, stage one will just like your game, where you have to eliminate all the dumpsters and the hobos that crawl out of them.
stage two begins with a giant title "You have successfully eliminated all the homeless. Time to make some more!" In this stage you have to Molotov 100 suburban homes.
stage 3 is just a repeat of stage 1.
stage for begins with the title "You have rid the world of the homeless scourge. You retire to a life of frivolity. Lying the park bench that you call home, you realize your job is not done. There is still one more left to eliminate!"
This stage is an empty park where you run around futilely trying to shoot yourself, but of course you never can, because the reticule refuses to center on you. There is no end state to this stage.

I can't even tell what the fuck is going on. It looks like spiderman is being pushed against buildings and its making him bleed? Poor spidey

Determination does wonders though actually. I've dropped countless projects, finished a few small ones, and literally wasted hundreds of hours programming stupid trash that I throw away in a week while jumping between hundreds of different tools. Literal nodev trash, but without realizing it everything has been minor progress along the journey. >Trying monogame and getting a menu system working with button input working (controller/mouse etc) has helped understand how to use Godot's controller input and UI layout. >Shitty console app RPG's have helped me ideaguy and learn basic system I/O type data storage and access for gamedev and helped a lot with string manipulation and parsing. >WPF application helped me understand UI component structure as well >making UI stuff in GIMP has helped me learn to use it over the many projects >uploading/using tons of workflows for various engines and filestructures etc has just improved general comfort with everything
I mean I know when you think of indie game dev you get the idea of a dev picking up an engine and just making a game from start to finish. I like to think that most devs making games spent tons of time fucking up and giving up and throwing stuff in the trash before just getting tired of it and being comfortable enough to just work on a game and finish it using all the knowledge they've learned along the way.
Just Like Make Game is the quickest path to making a game. I think there is a hidden message within that phrase though, you need to Just Make Like Game so that you can get all that failure and trash out of the way as quick as possible. Finishing a real game is about Just Like Don't Give Up in my opinion.
Andrew Turner
Sounds good. Watch you don't fall, user.

overuse of emoticons just comes off as obnoxious. you're also basically stereotyping everyone who enjoys anime.
Logan Hernandez
So you have the physics engine applying forces on hit, while you have this spaghetti code that also applies movement? Did it not occur to you that this is why you're getting "random bounces"?
Wyatt Sullivan
Maybe But seriously though I like your project, hit me up on discord if you'd like some audio at some point.
