Old thread: For all newcomers, Armored Core and all JP mecha discussion here. You are welcome to shill western stuff with JP influence. We can talk about Ace combat as well and puchi posting is fine too.
BEFORE YOU PROCEED LISTEN TO OUR THEME SONG!!! instaud.io/jzI
AC pastebin: pastebin.com/z1bJS9gF Read that if you have any questions. If the pastebin doesn't answer whatever question you may have feel free to ask us in the thread.
>Looked it up, AC2AA does take place on Earth. My bad.
It's okay, we all make mistakes. I accidentally copied "20th anniversary edition" from your last thread to this one.

Third for Gundam being trash and Gungriffon being cash

>really glad that the thread was more active last time >kinda not glad that it was because we had a lot of discussion on other mech games, not AC
I am conflicted.

You can only talk about a series for so long before it breaks into other topics.

Armored Core, heh, more like Armored Coffin am I right guys?

You excited for that new AC game?

The new AC game will star extra-dimensional travel and combat.

So, anything pleasant? /drg/ is kinda shit today so I will try to be more present.
Liam Murphy
ummmm... Armored Core 3 Portable with keyboard and mouse thanks to PPSSPP 1.4.1's mouse support, little janky but not awful.
Garrison: Archangel updated recently and they posted a graphic for a new mech on their twitter twitter.com/play_archangel
Rengoku 2 is cool, kind of like a mech game due to the bodypart customization.
No Armored Core news though, not even a Funko Pop.
Noah Cooper
>twitter
Boy, just like tumblr and reddit, these are websites I have no idea how they work, glad you could find good stuff on it.
Ayden Scott
twitter is an awesome place to find AC news and art because the Japanese use it a lot
Aaron James
I know, people find good Danganronpa art (and even good porn) as well there, but I have no idea how it works.
Anthony Thomas
Twitter just lets you take messages from a bunch of different people on the site and organizes it into a single feed for you to read.
If someone is subscribed ("follows") to you, then your messages (tweets) show up on their feed. If you follow them, their messages show up on your feed.
So the idea is that you follow 100+ people that you find interesting, and now you have a constant stream of interesting things to look at and read all day long. Or, if you have interesting things to say, you say it yourself.
The rest of the sites features are just little things on top of that. Like being able to broadcast (tweet) someone else's message to your followers (retweet).or being able to search all the messages.
Searching is where you find good things, because it shows you all the people who mentioned "armored core" around the world recently. You can also limit it to only pictures.
All in all, twitter's pretty simple, they just use dumb names for things that are already called something else.
Dominic Brooks
Ah, thanks.
Colton Bell
reddit is just a normal forum (post topics, people reply/common) but you use one account for all of the different forums (Armored Core has it's own reddit, Dogs has it's own, etc. You can make your own) instead of going to different web sites for each one.
Reddit's layout is kind of annoying though, just like twitter's terminology
Anthony Garcia
I see, thank you.
Jace Barnes
like to get AC art from pixiv

To add to this, if you ever used Digg back when it was relevant (they had a major layout shift at some point), Reddit is the exact same thing.

Speaking of other mecha games, I've started playing Front Mission on the snes, and I gotta say it's a really good looking game for its time.
Gabriel Sanders
The 3v1 in Zearm Desert is infinitely easier than the 2v1 in Old Gal. Having the room to maneuver and focus down the enemies was much easier in the desert than dealing with two ACs that specialize in close quarters with no room to maneuver.

So I just saw that Kotobukiya put a news on their site with a Fracture kit painted on the 20th anniversary. I can't read jap so don't know what they are talking about. I really hope they are going to announce something at this Wonfes since they didn't release/rerelease any AC kit this year.
Jordan Ross
Don't call it a grave, it's the future newfags chose. Well, that's the easiest way to sign in to Pixiv. Like user said, it gets you access to the 18+ and I also think it lets you see full size pictures. Does it end up on the boorus?

Just full completed AC2AA as part of my beginning to end non H+ playthrough of all Armored Core games. I'll post my completion image and my ACs tomorrow since it's late and I need sleep.
Also, Ultimate Nineball goes down like a bitch.
Joshua King
im still confused why you label it as non H+ when the norm is non H+
David Cook
My original playthroughs used H+ at least for AC1, ACPP, AC2, and AC2AA. And then I used OP-I in 3 and SL, so for me it's non H+. But I see what you mean by that being the norm (or what should be the norm). I guess I just assumed that players used H+ more often than not if it was available.
Austin Richardson
I see, good on you for not using H+ tho

Oh my god, this is fucking gold.
Are you manipulating the skeleton?
Connor Murphy
Yeah, slowly figuring out how to get them all exported in T-Pose and without fucked up skeletons but ADAM is alright for goofs.
They're not rigged very well, the left and right arms don't even deform the same way and neither of them do it particularly well.
Ian Sullivan
Well you did a really good job on that dab pose.
Did you enjoy the fight against Gryphus?
My favorite boss fight is Lycaon who is the 2nd boss.
Julian Torres
I'm sure I enjoyed but I don't remember it. Like it was two days ago? But I don't remember it.
I either kicked his ass really hard or I entered into some sort of manic gamer state. I probably used the jammer head on him to disable his lock-on and dodged a lot while linear motor gunning him and similar weapons.
Samuel Reed
>WELCOME TO B RANK MOTHERFUCKER
B-rank is where the game stops throwing you "training" ACs where you're supposed to learn about the game from, and starts throwing at you fully realized strategies

>extra dimensional travel But where to, though? How would you tie an AC plot around that?
>and combat Regular or extra dimensional?
Joseph Wilson
To the other dimension, the extra dimension. Like Event Horizon, uncut.
Extra dimensional combat.
Christopher Gray
>EXTRA DIMENSIONAL COMBAT
ugh
Don't get weird with AC, just give me a modern remake o ACLR and ZoE 3.
Jace Miller
If the old ACs were on Steam they'd be community tagged as walking simulators.
And I'm not sure they'd be wrong.
Wyatt Ward
have you played a walking sim?
All AC games are mech sims (even From Soft calls them sims) but on steam the pre-PS3 games would probably be called a "Platform Shooter" or "Puzzle shooter" similar to Doom or Portal.
Brandon Howard
The day someone calls AC a puzzle shooter in my presence is the day I get arrested for assault.
Samuel Jones
Platform shooter is more accurate, at least the indoor sections
Julian Martin
Sounds more proper. This isn't Professor Layton.
Matthew Robinson
Dead game and dead general

Logan Smith

Thomas Hill
trash like you has no place in Veeky Forums
Josiah Long
I remember the first time I went up against that one. Fucking OP-I bullshit with those chainguns flying around. I don't remember how I beat him though. Probably an initial assault with lots of missiles when at range and then finishing him off with a machinegun.
Zachary Rodriguez
while you're out there complaining, here are some other generals that you should go purge, for terrible games that are way less relevant than AC
Christian Hughes
2 and Q variants were used for most missions. B variant was for missions involving enemy ACs. H variant was for aquatic combat. K variant was Karasawa focused specifically for fighting things in the Lost Field.
On to AC3.
Jose Lewis
when you're all done, you should go back again and rely on weapons other than the karasawa and machine guns
B is pretty much identical to my first run through AC2. I like Q too.
Nathan Carter
The Karasawa's ammo efficiency and damage potential is too good to pass up sometimes, since there were no other decent energy weapon options until you pick up the Emeraud laser rifle. More often I'd rely on my pulse cannon and missiles to deal with most enemies so I could save my Karasawa for more important or tougher enemies. If there was a more efficient energy weapon like the 1k damage 100 shot laser rifle in 1st gen or SL, or even the 800 damage 75 shot laser rifle in 3, I'd have used that instead.
Brody Long
>no other decent energy weapon options the laser rifle that shoots the thin beams and the laser sniper rifle are both really good, but I agree, the karasawa is pretty much the best in all ways in AC2.
Anyone have any idea what the difference between Normal and Hard difficulty level is for AC3? I can't seem to find any definitive answer anywhere besides one instance saying difficulty level changes the amount of time you have to get bonus missions.
Owen Smith
I do know that one feature of it is that it makes the aim box smaller.
