I'm not sure if the mark 1 had a v6 option, the later ones defiantly had a v6 with fuel injection. The two liter pintos are probably better though, you can really push up the horse power with a few simple mods.

The Escort is only better if it's been modified. At stock they were a slow, heavy grocery-getter with more body roll than an aeroplane. It wasn't fast obviously, but that's because it was specifically designed to be affordable for normal people like you and me. It looks good, sounds good and is faster than your dad's Morris Minor. That's all it needed to be. Also the majority of people love Capris, so why are you posting it in this thread?

The popular thing to do in "car guy" or "car enthusiast" circles right now is to shit on the Supra in favor of all of its competitors which I see as unfair, because none of the others get shit on nearly as much.

Maybe they're doing it out of what they see as a retaliation against its fame or hype or toxic drag fags that get exposure, but I like all the cars, why does it have to be an us against them mentality? It's an american poster and that's a 4cylinder and a compact. Americans will never get over the fact that somethings with the dimensions and displacement of a golf shat all over their precious camaros.

Euros also got the E36 compact with larger engines up to 2.3l 6 cylinders. I knew a guy with one and he said it was sheer joy to drive since it had a nice amount of power, was relatively light and had a short wheelbase.

That said though, I find them ugly as fuck.

Compacts have the same wheelbase as coupe/sedans and have an arguably shittier rear suspension lifted from the E30, since it was more... compact. It's more tail happy though, which is why the 4cylinders like the 318ti are a perfect match, better weight distribution. 323ti compact is cool in theory but compared to the normal E36s it understeers like a pig even with the sporty suspension.

It's hilarious because when you read specific forums for JDM cars, they all love the Mk 4 Supra regardless of what forum. For instance, you'll see a lot of Skyline owners who have owned Supras and GT-R's. They all agree the Supra was actually engineered and made properly so people can enjoy it for years to come; it's a fucking Toyota, who would've thunk?

Direct opposite for a lot of the 90's JDM cars. The Skylines for instance are rust buckets. The Supra is not.

Was probably one of the best cars I've owned, despite evryone on Veeky Forums calling them unreliable crap.
The 2.2 litre intercooled engine with 5 speed manual was fast enough to bully pretty much anything on the highway, had excellent fuel consumption of barely 7 litres per 100km, had fully electric and heated seats, power windows and mirrors, cruise control, AC, the thing had pretty much everything. If it only was RWD, I'd kept it. The thing was almost perfect.
It was also ridiculously easy to tune and get hilarious amount of power out.

Wife wanted a newish coupe with leather seats after I sent away my AE86. I insisted on a new Civic, but she was sick of the 8th gen we had. She was trying to compromise with my tastes and say we should get an FRS or 370Z, but her limitation was that it had to be automatic. I wasn't going to get a car I actually wanted in auto, and I read that the Gen Coupe had a shit manual but a reliable 8-speed auto. They were cheap enough that I didn't care. Grabbed a 3 year old one with 30k miles with the direct injection 3.8 V6 from one of those online middlemen dealers without even test driving one anywhere, and said fuck it, enjoy your whale of an automatic Korean Mustang.
I was used to lightweight, 4-cylinder shitboxes and hated it for months. Felt like the 348 hp was wasted. Tiny windows, big footprint, headlights too bright, interior too new. Didn't feel like my car, and I couldn't push it as much on a mountain road as a small car. When wife stopped driving or going anywhere, I used the fucker to save miles on my piece of shit Civic. Turns out it's a decent car and can handle, but I hate the auto transmission even more now that I know how to drive a fast, pigfat barge. It would be almost passable if there was rev-matching but that was in later model years.

Everybody hates my warm-hatch. It's styled like it would out-run a Lamborghini I suppose, and that turns people off.

I just wanted a Hyundai hatch that wasn't as boring as the Accent or Elantra.

Had the chance to pick one up on the cheap recently but it was automagic and non tarbo. Heavily considered tho.

the Raptor is unique in that its probably the only car on the market that is objectively the best option in its class.

everyone wants to fight over what is the best sports sedan, muscle car or hot hatch but no one legitimately tries to argue that the RAM Power Wagon, Tacoma TRD Pro or the like are superior offroad trucks. sure Wranglers are better rock crawlers and Range Rovers can drive up a brick wall but there is nothing as all-around capable as a stock Raptor, especially for the price.

I don't mind it, I just hate the spoiler.
