>"COULD BE"

You know these journalist articles aren't 100% factual most of the time.

So why are they refusing to comment?

>why doesn't Tesla pay someone to make statements to clickbait articles that are posted every 5 minutes on average
Seems like a better idea to not do anything and enjoy endless free publicity, considering they don't advertise and rely on shit like that to keep the brand name in peoples head (and nobody actually takes clickbait garbage like that seriously except mouthbreathers like OP)

>implying PR fags don't get paid regardless

lmao.

let's see those normies who celebrated tesla like applel and now will cry rivers because their lifeblood (smartphones and tablets) will get more expensive or delayed because of lelsla

SHAME

Why does the media issue a daily Tesla press release?

literally why they made the gigafactory, so they wouldn't be beholden to the world battery supply
problem is the gigafactory is taking time to get to full operation

That's the bit that doesn't make sense. Tesla hardly makes cars, but they DO make batteries. So where does this journalism major get off blaming Tesla for a shortage? It's like pinning the lack of beer at a party on the guy who brought an entire keg.

at the moment they need to buy stock to make the cars, especially as the model 3 ramps up, and they might be stockpiling so they can get a good rate now instead of buying over time as prices might climb.

but as the gigafactory ramps up output they'll be less reliant on the outside for it

They don't have the money to make cars, why would they have the money to pay someone to correct idiots?

Gigafactory doesn't pull lithium and nickel and cobalt out of its ass

true, but the article was talking about a battery stockpile, not the raw resources for them

lithium supplies are ok now that chile has that salt flat evaporation mine up and running, that's got a fuckload of lithium for a long time
nickel's around
cobalt is a problem, yeah

Show me an article where a major company responds to a bullshit allegation like this from a clickbait site

>people have been using petroleum for centuries
>"it's a finite source! we will run out of it eventually! MUH PEAK OIL!"
>we're still using petroleum, no signs of slowing down even after using gas guzzlers for the better part of a century

>"electric/batteries are the future! Petrol is finished! Electricity will never run out!"
>we're actually entering a shortage of litium
>mfw

their batteries aren't just going in cars. they are also going into Powerwalls and Powerpacks. they've just dropped several megawatts of storage in Australia and Poorto Rico.

Gigafactory hasn't produced shit and is way overbudget.

according to Panasonic, they're increasing production of batteries at the gigafactory as of last october. They've been making cells there since last january.

>muh peak oil

We will never run out of oil.
Oil is literally endless and a constantly renewed source. Whenever we drain thousands of gallons of petrol, its recreated near instantly.

>ICE cucks literally scraping the bottom of the barrel for any Tesla criticism

>these threads
proof Veeky Forums posters are retarded and have no idea what they're talking about.

That's not possible. Tesla doesn't even own or make any batteries. They're nearly all Panasonic batteries.

What no one else is bothering to make batteries and now musk just owes them to the world? He's literally creating the demand for the batteries hence the perceived shortage

They're just making shit up to keep Tesla stocks up, their company isn't even profitable.

cant wait for this to get worse and demands outstrip supplies

Hopefully Hydrogen gets off the ground.

>tfw a hydrogen powered dorito spinner that revs to 18K RPMs is soon within out reach

Who's laughing now, pistoncucks?

>extremely silly

then other manufacturers will find another solution.
Remember, Tesla don't have the solid-state battery tech like Germans and Toyota have. It will be a game changer.

what a blowhard
>but if u just use solar power
lmao can't wait till the chinese rape him on rare earth minerals prices

Musk is getting mines opened in the states and Mexico to supply him.

Aside from that, somewhere in the future oil companies will pump out artificial photosynthesis flow cells that produce a standard length hydrocarbon
>2018 - 24 days
>people still think technology isn't available to form hydrocarbons from co2 and water
>people still think this won't become commercially viable
Lmao

bad news for musk
>then other manufacturers will find another solution.
this has been confirmed by BMW - see >It does not require the use of rare earths.
