>car randomly idles at like 1500 rpm for no reason
>intermittent

>run ICV through ultrasonic
>reinstall, computer = wtf is this
>whack the shit out of ICV with plastic handle
>now dead stable, no more random high idle

>power flutter at hard throttle above 2500 rpm now also gone
>had bought fuel pump because I thought the old one was dying and I was losing fuel pressure under hard throttle

E N G I N E E R I N G

My car fucking shakes at idle and at certain RPMS and throtte inputs. Clubks when you chnage into R to D as well.

I'm 99% sure its a case of ol shitbox engine and tranny mounts

>leaks oil everywhere
>all 4 struts are bad
> torn cv boot
>had rats living in the far before
> possible blown turbo
But it only has 79 thousand miles im tempted to give up and sell it because there is barely any spare parts for the car anymore

2005 Mazda 3
>needs new suspension
>needs new brakes soon
>hard shift from 1st to 2nd
>drivers window is a pain to roll up
>poor paint, no clearcoat on the top or trunk
>will probably need a new exhaust soon
>RUST
>THE BODY RUST IS HORRIBLE
>I WOULD DRIVE THIS THE REST OF MY LIFE IT IT DIDNT HAVE SO MUCH FUCKING RUST

I fucking love this hunk of junk. Paid $600 bucks for it, replaced the transmission speeds sensors, and I love it. Pic related is the worst part of the rust. Tons of rust spots and some of the rocker panels are just gone too. Might pickup a 2008 or 2009 come tax time.

those winters are bald af my dude

They’re all seasons and it’s a poor angle. They only have 10k on them.

Holy fuck that is bad. I pulled a 80's Subaru out of a 10 year paddock stay earlier this week and the rust on that isn't nearly as bad. That's shocking man

>2006 e90 325i
>Car cranks wont start
>oh no prob, prolly dead battery
>battery is fucking old as shit, might as well just replace it and get it done with
>Open battery hatch
>ok thats a bit more complex than normal but no problem
>swap battery, start car, all is well
>awesome, I just saved like 100$ for my drinking habits
>lock battery in with that long ass rod thing
>close battery hatch
>close trunk
>hop in car
>turn on car
>all power lost, keyfob stuck in ignition, trunk closed
>well fuck.
>take out keyblade from keyfob, go to trunk to open it with key
>key tumbler is electric

I think it was the IBS that somehow blew off the positive because there's absolutely 0 power, it started up initially so I don't think I fucked the install but now I literally have to drill through some plastic shit in my back seats to pull the trunk release.

>I literally have to drill through some plastic shit in my back seats
don't do this, faggot
just connect another battery or a power supply to the jump start connector in your engine bay and unlock the trunk normally

Tried jumping it with another car last night to do just that, car didn't even respond to it, I'll give it another shot before going full retard but if I've fucked something serious that isn't going to help. I appreciate the suggestion though.

>cam seals leak oil
>all 4 shocks leak oil
>3 bald tires
>front rotors are warped
>driver side door lock pin sticks
>stereo speakers cut in and out on bumps
>A-pillar has burn marks from when i smoked cigars
>speedometer doesnt work from bad speed sensor

to be fair most of this isnt the cars fault, a shop botched a engine rebuild and went bankrupt when i took it back for warranty so its my mess to fix this summer

did you try completely disconnecting the wires that go into your trunk before jump starting?
maybe your positive lead is shorting out on the chassis
also check your fuses

I did not, thanks for the suggestion I'm going to try that as soon as I can

>90% sure the header is cracked
>paint is shit and needs replaced
>sometimes makes a squealing noise under hard acceleration, suspect its related to the wobbly clutch/flywheel situation
>front suspension makes a popping noise when going to full lock at a standstill

Durango-kun
>for some reason my FM transmitter thing to play phone tunes through the radio doesn't work very well, but only in this car. Clueless as to why
>no heat because my grandpa loops the coolant lines to the heater core when it started leaking. Absolute pain in the ass to fix not sure if I will
>power steering pump whines
>massive rust on the hatch, bubbly all along the top, could probably get some serious weight redu tion if I took a sands to it
>random phantom misfire that sometimes drives me to suicide
>used to have an issue where the rev limiter didn't go past 2800 and it would get stck in 3rd gear. This truck taught me to hate autotragics
>4wd doesn't work needs a new h linkage

Oh yeah Durango-kun also leaks coolant If you try to fill it up, but won't leak coolant in its half filled state. So the car will overheat in traffic

>Mk3 supra
>will start to Idle hunt when in neutral if i speed up quick
>Stops most of the time if I pull backwards on the gas pedal

A few nights ago I had to yeild to get on the high way (had to go fast)nd the car has just been idle hunting and when I let go of the gas it acts as if it's on Cruise control unless I pull the gas pedal backwards then it just goes back to idle hunting

Any ideas of what I should check for ?
Not good with cars but if I have some ideas I have a buddy that can help me out

My PTGT has been a bit of a cunt lately.
>alternator is going out, sometimes battery is dead after a super cold night
>passenger door weather seal has started leaking in the rain
>quarter panel rust continues to get worse
>handbrake only works if you pull it AAAALLLL the way up, super hard to disengage
>Interior rattles are worse with winter wheels
>rear bumper mount stud has rusted away so now the rear bumper rattles like fuck when you hit a bump
>Syncro to third is completely gone, grinds unless you shift it JUUUSSSST right, double clutching doesn’t help
>syncro to second is also on it’s way, grinds about 1/3 of the time
>leaks trans fluid
>shift linkage bushings are worn so finding 2nd and 4th is tricky in the cold

I’m just gonna get the tranny rebuilt... there goes my Christmas bonus.

Check your throttle cable and throttle body linkages.

>randomly blows fuel pump fuse with no clear pattern
>the temperature sometimes goes slightly above center and I can smell something burning in the engine bay, then the next day it will be perfectly fine
>rear brakes have been squealing and getting seriously hot for the past week, suddenly ok again
>parking brake worked 2 weeks ago, now it doesn't no matter how hard I pull
>retrofitted AUX input stopped working suddenly
>weird noise when turning the steering wheel full lock to the left, doesn't happen when I turn it to the right
>weird knocking noise a few days ago from the rear right of the car, went away by itself

I have no idea how to figure out the causes of half of these problems, I guess I'll just drive it and hope it isn't something serious

>Car will idle real rough in cold weather
>Start it up and roll out of the driveway
>Car is literally bucking from the RPM shooting up and dipping
>I can hear the trim panels vibrating when I stop at a light

>Get going and it starts to rain and mist a bit
>Put on intermittent mode on the wipers
>The wipers go up and pause in the middle of the at about a 85 degree angle
>Can't see shit unless I use the switch to manually put them down
>They go down and then come back up slightly, parking just at an angle on the bottom of the windshield
>Repeat this process until I get to my destination or just hope that the RAINx will save me

>Get up to speed and the little plastic shitbox becomes a little plastic deathtrap
>Steering wheel starts getting a little shakey
>The entire car is vibrating
>All of the interior trim pieces are rattling and shaking
>Wind noise is present even with the radio turned up all the way

Most of the car functions well, though. The 2.2l is peppy as fuck and hearing it redline is fucking great. I would be lying if I said I didn't love it. Saturns are great machines, even the rebadged opels that GM was putting out in the 2000s. The fact that it is a POS deathtrap gives it character.

At least it's still nippy in low gears and fuel efficient as fuck. Basically a clown car since you can jam so many stuff in it.
