I remember someone saying that the salaries and conditions that IFI currently offers their VAs (several of which are also Union members) aren't that far off from what the Union contract wants, there's just simply no way they could go through all the trouble of the legal whatsits without fucking up all their deadlines. Erin's just striking because muh principles.

See This is the actual answer. The terms of the union strike boil down to three points:

1) Workplace safety for VAs, IE no forcing them to scream into a microphone for four hours and stuff, which really shouldn't be a problem for their company.

2) Title and role of what they are working on made known to VAs, which appearently is a thing that bigger companies are doing, but obviously isn't a problem for IFI.

3) A royalty system for when a game make 2 million sales, and every 2 million sales past then. This is abit of a stickler, but given that their most successful game ever made less than 500K sales, it really isn't a problem for them.

Obviously, all three of these points aren't particularly relevant to IFI, the third point really is the only stickler, and even then they aren't playing anywhere close to the same league.

And, here's the stickler, the SAG-Aftra strike is not a general strike aimed at all game companies. There is a very specific list of companies that they are striking against, all of which are fairly large companies who can afford to pay their VAs more and most likely will have done some of the shit that this new contract is designed to prevent.
