If Amplitude made an Endless based racing game, would you play it?
Sebastian Fisher
>If Amplitude made an Endless based... game, would you play it? Yes
Eli Ramirez
So guys I have over 100 hours in Stelaris now and I want some feedback, I cant decide what ethos I want to use as a main empire that I play.
I LOVE science in 4x games; the sound of completed research keeps me at full mast, so I'm pretty comfy with Fanatic Materialist, but I just don't know what fits the other ethos slot.
My main and favorite playstyle is to rapidly expand as quick as possible, then build up my infrastructure hard, and then expand even more, but then forcibly if need be. I don't seek fighting other empires, but if it comes to it I have absolutely no issues with dominating whoever is in my way of the slightest gain. I'd be pretty to sit in my territory playing city builder if left alone to do it but I still enjoy diplomacy and interacting with other empires, and will even hop in a federation if a good one comes along.
Point being idk what my other ethos point should be. I tried Militaristic but I don't really look for fights early game, I prefer to keep to myself and not attack till I have the tech or numbers advantage. Having militaristic kinda fucks me with that playstyle, since my factions are reeeeealy unhappy early on and give me worse outputs and unrest early game, and the continued peace makes my people form tons of anti war factions that get mad when I finally POSSIBLY go to war.
Militaristic doesn't seem to be working for me since I'm not aggressive out of the starting gate or indeed possibly all game, and I can't rely on waiting to embrace a faction later since that's not a sure thing but maybe I'm wrong about being wary of Militaristic. I also want to keep goodish relations with people and make use of good xenos, so I don't think Xenophobe would be too great either. And off course I don't want war to be off the table, so certainly not pacifist.
So with all that, whats your guys opinion of what my other ethos point should be? For anyone interested in helping me decide.
Isaac Clark

What is the worst 4x game you've ever played and what do you think it got right?
Eli King
Fucking Fallen Empire awakened and complicated my run. Once I got to your core world I will not only purge you, but I will use the fastest method to purge you from the face of the earth.
Cameron Bell
civ vi nothing
Carson Morales
>not using the slowest and most painful
Jaxson Brown
Egalitarian is neat if you don't plan on using slaves.
I mainly play F. Spiritualist & Egalitarian. It's fairly nice and comfy. In relation to your issue Egalitarianism won't put pressure on you to expand through force but won't penalise you for it either. It's also not a problem for diplomacy save for Authoritarians who will probably hate you most of the time anyway and it's great for faction happiness.
Robert Brooks
Neutering is the most humane one. I wish there is really horrible way of killing the xeno pops, like unrestricted scientific study, which will cause a lot of mutation in the species and gives a boost to society research. Each pops purged this way can also generate a huge amount of research.
Bentley Martinez
Processing is one of the more horrific ways I can think of.
Especially when a devouring swarm hive mind is doing with the implication that they're hunted in the streets and eaten alive

Fallen Enchantress Legendary Heroes Elemental - and yes, the title is all those words combined, which hints at the game's quality. It's a med-fan 4x with no multiplayer.
> What it did right - A "city level" system that felt meaningful - Empire-wide mana that yields decent result if you can tinker every city to fuel your main hero - Some cool spells, some decent mechanism for territory control
> What it did wrong Everything else, holy cow. - No multiplayer - An overly complicated weapon system for normal units that you never use or even stop researching - a race that moves 50% faster than everyone else, all the time, in and out of combat, with wich you can ICS and win while playing Clicker Heroes - No ingame encyclopedia for unintuitive stuff like "where can actually I build cities ?" - The fact that building cities is unintuitive - Did I meantion no multiplayer ? Who makes a 4x game with no multiplayer ? Ubisoft ? - Mana is so scarce that 50% of all magic-related stuff is useless, like having more than one caster, ever. - Food and city growth is clunky - Fanatical roaming monsters ...
Still, overall it was enjoyable.
Juan Barnes
>Who makes a 4x game with no multiplayer ? People who made Thea The Awakening, though that game is more roguelike tbs.
Nicholas Baker
So it turned out not to be the ideal way of starting to play Stellaris as a fanatic xenophobic militarist with no allies, having to take on the entire galaxy at once when they formed one huge alliance in mid-game.
Does anyone have critical advice on how to not get completely wrecked in a war?
Landon Harris
build more ships. Is this your first game of stellaris?
Jordan Ramirez
I vasselised some chumps in 2216 as a Fanatic Purifier. Integrated, but couldn't go full purge instantly because the unrest was too high, so went with neutering. Resettled some of my pops (giant centipedes) on each of their mammalian world so I'd still have the planets afterwards, then built up enough armies and after about 20 uears I turned to processessing. I imagined that that "Nice Mr Hundredlegs" who had moved in next door and lived there for 20 years suddenly crashed through the walls and started tearing them apart to eat their brains.
Gavin Adams
Never seen this happen before. For some reason i thought they would liberate it instead.
Kevin Nguyen
>Integrated >as fanatic purifier wut
Julian Ramirez
I needed their ships more than I needed their planets.
Alexander Davis
but you can't vassalise or integrate for that matter as a fanatic pufirifer
Xavier Reyes
Apparently you can, cos I did. Never played a Purifier before so idk if this is unusual
Christian Perry
Yes it is. I'm currently at my naval capacity (245), a bit over even. But still the AI has superior tech, a greater capacity although being only half as big as my empire. Actually I'm not sure if it's still mid-game or already late-game. I have 6 planets colonized, two vassals and a strike force of 22k. My ships are all upgraded, I get like 70 points of each science.
Is there a way to make your vassals attack? They usually sit on their 10k asses while at war, letting me do battles. Also, how come a rival of mine can send their fleets flying through my empire? Is that a bug?
Angel Mitchell
what year is it? >245 is shit, build more and upgrade spaceports, build them literally everywhere you can >AI has superior tech and capacity this should never happen, you can fall behind on one and be fine, but both and you're fucked. It's not a fallen empire is it? >make vassals attack no, you can't do shit with vassals, they are completely independent except in regards with war >rival you might have open borders but I thought rivalling automatically closes them, not sure why
fuck, sorry you can, but it purges them automatically. Basically cleansing all systems. Been a while since I played a fanatic purifier
Jonathan Mitchell
>still the AI has superior tech I hope you're researching the debris left after battles. You can even skip technologies this way. Try to hunt down the small splinter fleets ai shuffles around after you rek his main one, for more debris to research.
Christian Brown
No, it's not a fallen empire. I'll try building more spaceports though, that sounds like a plan.
Sure I do, it got me plenty of technologies that I didn't need to research. Still, the enemy is ahead of me in terms of tech and capacity, no matter what I do.
Brandon Powell
I heard that Hive Minds can be brutal for passive expansion (rapid colonization without early wars), but honestly I never actually played them.
Cooper Nelson
Please do not bully the Riftborn.
Henry Barnes
tfw you are repugnant and charismatic at the same time
Zachary Lee
Hive mind, passive expansion
>rapid breeders, adaptive, strong, sedentary, repugnant >ascetic, subsumed will >warp mass drivers
Shitloads of influence and growing speed with decent mineral income
Dylan Davis
Does anyone know of those youtube videos whereby it shows the leaders of civilization 5 drawn badly in mspaint, with really shitty version of their themes in the background? Does anyone have a youtube link to these? I have since forgotten what to search for specifically for these.
Lincoln Morales
Search "Civ V drawings meme" or something and I'll bet you'll find it.
Samuel Myers
Would you play an Endless Marina Racing game? >Endless Tide >with the wacky design they used for the faction ships
Luis Collins
Fanatic Purifier is the only correct way to play Stellaris.
Brody Williams
Well. This changes things
Michael Sanders
>-42 gold per turn user what are you doing
Gabriel Williams
Tech doesn't matter currently. MINERALS and to a lesser extent energy is more important l. whats your Montly output? I've only fought 2 or 3 allies at a time, but I've never seen allies coordinate. As long as your swarm of naked corvettes is greater FP than any individual doomstack, you'll crush thier fleets. The problem will be getting enough war score to take planets
Alexander Perry
Or you could just never engage the enemy fleet and just take all their planets.
Leo Butler
How to have 1M fleet power? I know I can guerrilla warfare the AI but I want to smash those AE fleets to pieces.
Jordan Cox
You build a lot of ships.
Henry Hall
My limit is 1000. With that I can get 200k only. If I exceed it and get 1500 in total I can only have 300k. I wonder how the AE support their fleet.
Matthew Myers
They have a high cap. You need to increase your cap.
Brandon Baker
Naked Corvettes are getting gutted in 1.8 just FYI
Luke Parker
I picked the +200 perk. Still not enough.
Anthony Campbell
Is it just me or is Emperor super easy?
Jaxson Kelly
CORVETTE SPAM SHITTERS BTFO
Brayden Hernandez
So when are the new civs coming to Civ VI?
Carter Ward
Their doomstack will keep bombing 1 of your planet wr the whole duration of war. That means that you can fuck their systemsup in the meantime. Just make sure to have a lot of armies on your planets.
Jordan Thompson
2 EZ
Brody Young
I do like how the game is vastly different depending which age you play in.
I don't like how the random map can fuck you up with that. Hello hello, nice town, you wish to buy my paper? Well, tough luck, I have no such thing.
Tyler Gutierrez
I tried Cities : Skylines.
Frankly, it's pretty terrible. I never thought you could railroad a city-builder and make it boring, but they managed to do it.
Owen Sullivan
Ugly as fuck, but girls like personality best.
Ethan Ward
So basically Hanako from Katawa Shoujo?

ES2 racing: Horatio on Ferrari Sophons on Tesla United empire on Ural Lumeris on Cheap truck or something about 30's mafia Riftborn on Delorean Cravers take bulldozer Vodyani ride the whole damn Indian train Unfallen just wine the race

I like CK2. I like EU4. I like Stellaris. Seems pretty good to me.
Anthony Reed
>I like Stellaris. What do you think of the voice pack? Do you like it, or are you a sexist pig?
Carson Murphy
Definitely a sexist pig.
Robert King
Then your opinion has no value. Our Lord and Saviour Wiz knows better.
Jordan Cox
*respectfully disagrees*
Jose Lee
Not a bumpy bread.
Logan Reyes
>United empire on Ural With warp engines powered by the will of the emperor
Grayson Price
It's trash and offensive as fuck.
My entire family is militaristic, and we're not bloodthirsty faggots like that hippie Wiz think militaristic are.
Josiah Moore
In UE influence is actually Emperor's will.
Mason Myers
What might happen to a civilization once they archive dominance in their galaxy? Moving to next step of existence or stagnation?
Elijah Price
>Implying you find the next step of existence just because you cant grow anymore
Alexander Bailey
They invent anime and start chilling out.
Hudson Morgan
You build a Dyson sphere and you launch it into the intergalactic space like the mother of all colony ships
Parker Russell
>in their galaxy They pull a Ringrunner
Angel Hill
How is buying things from influence even supposed to work >Ivan, we need 3 hunters build yesterday >but we don't have time and resources >EMPEROR WILLS IT IVAN >AHH MOTHERLAND >ships are ready
Justin Richardson
You use the influence to get the ressources from other factions through sheer charisma.
Camden Green
But...
Adrian Clark
Motivation and shit >stagnation Ringworld could be a better idea
Jeremiah Jenkins
Buying ships is alright because you can contrive an intermediary stage in the form of dust: Emperor wills there be dust -> People bring dust -> Ships bought for dust.
It gets harder to imagine with buying research because other factions can't do that, even using dust.
Ethan Morales
The emperor wills it
Caleb Lee
I can't feel the emperors will in this post
Grayson Adams
Buying with gold makes no sense too, at least in Civilization. >Mate, we need a stock exchange a public school and a broadcast tower in this city right now >Yeah, for a price >And the city that just settled this year with 1 population instantly got all the infrastructure that my old capital build up for millennium It is not possible to build a city up from the ground within a year even with all the money in world. Things need time to build.
Cooper Thomas
They hire chinks and they do everything fast for a little price. The quality is shit tho, and because of this specialists are always upset
Elijah Cruz
Using Authoritarian with Extremely Adaptive means you can snowball quickly into a game-breaking advantage in fleet size.
Having Caste System with Slave & Mining Guilds means you will be drowning in minerals & food, once you start aggressively expanding you can just re-tool captured planets to being mine planets while you build energy planets with your own people, all you really need to do to stop rebellions is just stack a dozen defensive armies on a slave planet and those are cheap enough that it's not really a hassle, just make sure you leave the "able to be military" option in the default species rights and you can use the same race you're enslaving to prevent the rest of the race rebelling.
Landon Perez
>What is the worst 4x game you've ever played and what do you think it got right? Master of Orion 3
That it was so old that it didn't have any bullshit online activation which meant I was able to swap with some rube for Civ 3.
Nolan Edwards
WHEN ARE THE NEW CIVS COMING FOR VI???
John Young
>I have no imagination and a comfy city builder just isn't for me.

Liam Adams
Some folks here play it but I doubt you'd get much views.
Thomas Flores
I play it, once in a while. Don't expect any views, the computer I use to play it won't be online for one week.
Kayden Torres
I played it, but I didn't read the manual and subsequently sucked. Also I don't remember it being for DOS, but maybe it was.
And before you make a let's play, try gassing yourself.
