sounds like some kusoge where scoring is heavily tied to survival, play ccwi where you can clear with score that good players get on st1.

I think one of the Deathsmiles II stages does. The one with the giant rock-snake bosses, I'm thinking of. I have no clue what it is exactly, but it looks kind of... cave-y. I could be wrong, I haven't touched Deathsmiles II in like two years.

As an aside, does anyone know how the scoring in Sokyugurentai works? Got even more into it after finding similarities with the Ray games and Kamui.

It works like in CCWI, except it only has lock-ons.
Always get full lock-ons and don't bomb. Also don't collect power-ups since the game has a pretty nasty rank system.

Basically what he said, you want to get as many full lock ons as poss and use the shot as little as poss, bomb item bonuses are worth a lot and avoid power ups.

1cc Mushi Normal Original
1cc eXceed 3rd Normal
1cc Castle of Shikigami normal with a couple of characters
probably also some version of Deathsmiles, Blue Revolver and other games

I don't want to pick a game for scoring yet because I want to just enjoy the games there are to enjoy. Once I buckle down for scoring it will be detrimental to let myself play any other shmup extensively (as can be the case when going for a clear). So just want to havve fun for now.

Not too far off, 2-4's the furthest I've made it in a full run and starting from 2-1 I can usually reach 2-5, but I'm prone to making dumb mistakes on the bosses which eats away at my lives.

MushiFuta Original clear, Mushihime Maniac clear, refine my first loop on DFK and work my way towards a 2-all, CCWI clear and break 70m on Time Attack if I can find time.

The later levels are harder than I thought. 2-6 gets me everytime. Managed to use only 2 bombs at Russia, which was quite nice. Maybe I should try this more often. Usually I have to use 3 (one at the last turret before the boss), but's actually also doable without it.

I don't know... I think this will still take some time. The later bosses are really difficult.

From watching you play i'll tell you this, the p-51 is not easier than the bf, it's differently balanced and is easier in parts but the bf can destroy a lot of stuff so damn fast with clever option placement that it nullifies threat.
