Regular here is $6,74/gal at a cheap fuel station

The Chevron I pumped was 2.69 that's good compared to the one by my house and that was a Marathon.

I prefer my days to be dark and wet.

Eurocucks fuck off, I'd rather have expensive gas and be able to cross my entire country in less than 5 hours than have cheap gas and have to burn 5x as much of it getting from one end of the USA to the other.

You won’t knock in a modern car, but your ecu will just retard timing further and further until it doesn’t knock any more.

There's not a car on the planet that's supposed to use regular that will run 40 cents per gallon better with premium

tfw my brother's GTO with well over double the power gets only slightly worse fuel economy

Could you measure fuel consumption by measuring how much fuel passes after the pump and how much passes the return line?
Calculating the difference in fuel over miles driven should give a good reading.

Might try this with my e36...

My B4 A4 Audi got ass mileage for a 4 cylinder it was like 19 combined . I guess that’s the price for getting falling for the Quattro meme

Gas has been $2.99 for months now..

That would work, but the way instant mpg readouts work is by taking the fuel pressure, pulse width of the fuel injectors, and distance driven. That way you don't need any extra hardware.

I wish regular was as low as $2.6/gal..

did some quick math to check if was actually worth a damn. Here are the results, assuming constant fuel prices and a car that gets 30mpg US to the gallon.

>1 US Gallon of petrol is about $6.07 (£4.54/US gallon or roughly £1.2/L)
>The cost to drive from Brighton to Carlisle in Britbongland is $74.45 or £55.64 (368mi/30MPG US * $6.07)
>Travel time: 6 hours, can be done in one shot on a single tank of fuel in many cars

>1 US Gallon of regular fuel is about $2.09 in my area (£1.56/US gal or about 55p/L)
>The cost of taking the "Cruis'n USA" route coast-to-coast from San Francisco, CA, to Washington DC, is $199.80 or £145.32 (2868mi/30mpg US * $2.09)
>Travel time: 42 hours if driven nonstop, likely need to stop 2-3 nights at hotels to sleep which even on the cheap end might cost $50/night plus food and other shit, and you'll feel like shit driving 10-12 hours a day for 3-4 days.

In the end, this was pointless and most people don't drive across the whole USA often enough for it to matter.

Build an oil rig, refinery and pump and let me know how much it costs you on a daily basis, friend

Yeah and when they do they usually use a giant RV or huge SUV.

A lot of Americans don't even leave their state, and if they do they only go like one or two states over. Which is pretty comparable to your UK example. I live in Oregon which isn't the largest state, but we're fairly comparable to Germany. Most of the cool sight seeing areas (beach, skiing, camping, gambling, etc) are

Owch. That's painful.

It’s like 2.30-2.40 inside metro Nashville (extra taxes), but yeah 2.15-2.20 in Knoxville and out in the country, at least it was when I drove eastbound on 40. I’d guess it’s about that in Chattanooga too, maybe a little cheaper they always have cheap gas. Not sure about West TN because I never go there.

WA (greater seattle area)
3 stations on separate corners of same intersection:
Sam's Club $2.69 regular 87 (debit card price)
Arco top tier $2.69 regular 87 (cash price)
Chevron techroline top tier $2.72 regular 87 (cash/chevron card)

Chevron higher elsewhere in town, but at that corner, the competition is fierce, so chevron had to lower its prices to compete against the other two especially with walmart gas just 3 blocks away from that corner.

Mileage sucks as soon as they change to winter formula with ethanol. 22-24 in summer and 19-20 in winter with same tires (no studs) and driving style.
