you start first

The Thunderbird was the epitome of Personal Luxury cars that I loved so much. Too bad we won't get personal luxury cars ever again

shut the fuck up faggot

Awww, did I hit a nerve of yours?

>be toyobaru owner
>cow-orker owns one of these motherfuckers
>talks about his car
>4cyl, auto
>482K on the odometer but it still runs great
>one day come across him at the stop light
>decide to stop light race him
>light turns green
>he overtakes me within the first three seconds
>mfw

If any car deserves godmachine status, it's this one.

My mom had one of these when they came out, not sure what happened to it. Had a Berretta, Probe and Tempo Sport, Saturn SC2 all manual.

>tfw your mom is cooler than you

Go soak your head.

The worst feel. That and not being able to find a last-gen Fox or MN12 platform Cougar with the V8. Where did they all go?

This and the Mark VII we're my favorites growing up

Had one with t tops but I wrapped it around a pole

I know it too.
>tfw my mom daily drove a 442 and got to drive my uncle's Porsche speedster and Ferrari Dino 246

...

Probably obliterated by Cash for clunkers sadly

What do you call an S-Class coupe?

...

...

>be me
>buy one of these in minnesota
>frame completely rusted out
>309k on odo
>drive it for 5 months, no suspension/frame
>coming home from work one night
>hit train tracks
>ohshit.png
>car bottoms out, dragging ass, sparks and all
>only paid 300 bucks for it
>just walk the rest of the way
>never think about it again

I feel like a lot of people owned these have a story that ends with "but then I wrapped it around a _______"
Probably why you don't see many these days.

Muh fuckin nigger. I'd give my left nut for a mint 5 spd tarbo coupe

>he spent the price of the entire car in gas in just two trips to the gas station
Holy shit

Both

>be numale soyboy latte drinking cuckold
>drive slow shit nipbox
>actually call it a toyobaru ironically
>think my car is fast but its not
>get overtaken by some old piece of shit with a v6

bro your average work truck is faster than your fucking car

>spends $150 every trip to the station

either you drive a diesel truck with 55 gallons of fuel in the bed or you live in tokyo in th year 2071

Shit, you're probably right, although I don't know exact production numbers. There's also a couple years of Grand Marquis turn-ins with well over a thousand for each year which nearly outweighs the Crown Vic and Town Car turn-ins combined which is outrageous- to think so many of them were probably just suffering from the standard 90's Panther intake manifold failure and could have been fixed in an afternoon.

I almost don't want to scroll to find the numbers for T-Birds and Mark VII/VIIIs.

...

...

Shit.
>a bit above 100k Thunderbirds made in 1995
>almost one in every ten was turned in for C4C

>tfw no clean as fuck 2G packing a 4G63/64 hybrid turbo with the full-time and
A man can dream

...

...

>horrible interior
>extremely inefficient and anemic V8 that thinks it’s a V6
>live rear axle on a (((luxury car)))
>4 speed auto w/column shifter
>shit handling and braking
>built on a platform dating back to the 70s

Only thing it has going for it is that it’s reliable

>horrible interior
It's old school, not horrible. You get gauges, a radio, HVAC, vents and a glovebox, what more do you need? A touch screen to tell you exactly how crappy mileage you're getting? That shows on the optional digital dash anyway. Plus no center console means oodles of room despite the tranny tunnel.
>extremely inefficient and anemic V8 that thinks it’s a V6
It's anemic, but the mileage could be a lot worse. The civvie cars having a long-ass 2.73 rear helps a lot.
>luxury car
>Crown Vic
"no"
>implying column shifters aren't the tightest shit
>implying a body on frame barge needs to have great handling
>implying longevity of a platform isn't fantastic for shared parts and finding replacements

Cash for clunkers was a horrible moment.
