I've recently built a new PC and started modding Skyrim on it.
When I'm standing on hills and look into the far distance it's very noticeable that the grass just stops at one point no matter what I choose for the grass fade distance in the .ini. The only way to change that would be to increase the uGridstoLoad setting, but that makes the game unstable and is not recommended, right?

I mean, his mods have been down for the better part of a year, and still whenever anyone asks for a dragon mod or a Civil War mod, on this site and others, his are always recommended along with a story of what a faggot he is and a link to his shit. This basically keeps him relevant, and keeps giving him the ego boost that prompted him to pull them in the first place. I just wish that we could get some new mods and stop using his so he can become irrelevant. I'm willing to bet once there are dragon mods and Civil War mods that surpass his and people switch, he'll come flying back into activity in an attempt to stay relevant. I'm also hoping the community tells him to fuck off when that happens, because it's clear he's a shitty community member if he wants to condition what he does on political outcomes.

it's not just ugridstoload; you'd also need to change uexteriorcellbuffer and ipreloadsizelimit as these values are related to ugridstoload. additionally you would need to change fgrassfaderange, fgrassstartdistance, and igrasscellradius as well to ensure grass is loading at the full possible range of loaded cells.

generally it's not unsafe to play with ugrids 7 in my experience, though it will have a performance impact for sure, and you can't change your ugridstoload setting in the middle of a playthrough so you have to commit to either 5 or 7 before starting a new character.

there are a few mods that add noise to distant terrain lods which can help break up that cutoff point. also veydosebrom has ini settings that make grass appear sparse when further away from the player which makes for a more gradient view that may also look better to you.

did anyone happen to download skylight ui off of github before the guy pulled it? i didn't think to grab it when it was up because i'm still playing oldrim, but i'd like to have it just in case i want to try sse.

One-handed swords are cool, daggers are quick but require you to get uncomfortably close to your enemies.

If you're under a 500 pound wolfman trying to gnaw off your face, you're not going to have room to draw a sword, and for as fast as they move, on top of you is where they'll be in no time. A dagger is very handy in such a deadly grapple.

Honestly trying to take a sword to either would be almost as bad of an idea. Any character that doesn't have a means of ranged damage is fundamentally broken.
