What are some good example of boxy hatchbacks? My favourites are the Honda CRX 87 and the Lancia Delta Integrale but both are way overpriced second hand.

...

This last one is cheating a bit because it isn't a hatchbacks but it's still sexy as fuck

those wheels are a fucking abomination

Citroën BX with hydropneumatic suspension
Golf mk2 looks decent too

...

Why didn't they make a coupe version of this?

Why did they stop making cool hatchbacks anyway?

How boxy do you require?

Renault 5

Saab 9-3

Why not? SUVs exist

+1 on the Viggen, love that car so so much.
Keeping with Saab, if you want boxier than that go for a 900.
>pic related

If you like the crx check out the EF
Much more reasonably priced and less beat on usually
And still has an attractive boxiness

...

if you can't afford a crx you can't afford anything!

atleast post a gti you absolute mongrel.

no one except me likes e36 compact, maybe except some e36 compact owners

behold

I love the wheel fairing on old Citroëns, they were ahead of their time

Why is it so hard to find a decent condition Omni

I dunno. but I'm buying *that one* if a different car deal falls through.

pic is from when I test drove it

Foxbody

Because they were poorly built budget cars from 30 years ago. Most of them fell apart after 100k miles.

i got something for you guy, this is the gti version

Best answer. Best hot hatch of the 80s.

Still... it feels wrong with 4 doors.

3rd Gen Kammback.

My grandpa drove his to about 250k miles, says it was the most reliable car he’s ever had and he’s always driven corollas and Camry’s

Cool anecdote, bro.

>go for a 900
I'd love to but decent ones are so expensive these days.

Like most shitboxes of the time they rusted easily, particularly through the floor pan.
Also the newest model you'll find will be 27 years old, car numbers dwindle over time from accidents, breakdowns and everyday wear and tear. Economy cars also get passed around heavily on the beater market and just get driven into the ground.
There's probably some repairable ones sitting in fields or garages somewhere dry, but it's not at all weird that you don't see them on the road anymore.

Every time I see a based Citroen I ask myself the same question
