I don't keep my millwood bow equipped, shit is too heavy. If I need it I swap it out for the crossbow.

How do infused weapons fare past 30/30? I'm not making a pvp char, just wondering how well elemental melee works in the late game compared to pure physical.

Better off going STR or DEX for even more damage, depending on what the base weapon scales better with.

Basically no gains, an example is dark LKS, at 30/30 it has 498 AR, at 40/40 it has 512, a measly 14 AR for a whole 20 levels.
Now for Onyx, going 40/40 is worth but dark claymore is better overall and caps at 30/30

I was talking about dark/chaos infused weapons. I'm not sure about Onyx Blade because it's a unique weapon, you'd probably best dick around a bit on mugenmonkey.

I've found it easiest that right when you get in, start wailing on Pain while Below makes its way towards you. When they're both charged, start running until Below cools down, and finish off Pain. Sprint to Below and repeat.
Once you get into Prince, stay right on it, but don't get caught with your back to the wall or in a corner. Ripostes won't do as much as they do on Midir, but they still do a good amount.

The best part about the cathedral rooftops is that they're miles away from a bonfire because of the Cathedral's design.

It means that the host has to fight you or get chased down with a dagger and fucked to death as he tries to run through an entire level.

Still plenty of invader action to be had if you're willing to wear the red and get good.

/bbg/ actually got a resurgence of traffic recently, it's in an upswing right now for one reason or another.

But yeah, the lack of hope for any more content or updates really kills interest in DaS3. We have to wait for TGS before we'll have even a word on From's new RPG project.

After 300 hours of invading in every single way possible it just isn't fun anymore.

Majority of players you bump into are no-fun-allowed 4 man ganksquads with infinite blues summoned once you manage to take down one of them.

That 1/10 fun invasion isn't worth the slog going through the 9/10 shit ones. The same PvE is done after 50 hours and the pvp gets incredibly stale after a while.

Yeah, I mean, I'll do the whole honour duel thing if a host is alone, but more often than not I end up switching to invader mindsetq and legging it anyway because the way of blue dinner bell rang and now I get to cuck darkmoons instead.

I prefer BB's combat system but Ds3 offers more opportunity to be a dick in invading. Worst you can do in BB is gunspam, messenger's gift cannon or beast roar someone off a cliff.

This and the fact that most host are contemptuous little shitpipes. I don't even particularly have trouble with ganksquads and I win most of my invasions, but damned if they don't go out of their way to ensure winning is the dullest, most mechanical face imaginable.

Here's a play-by-play of the average invasion in DaS3 currently
>4 man squad campign the bonfire
>host has a straightsword and a shield
>host hides behind shield and strafes, constantly backpedalling from you
>kill phantom
>host now spams roll in circles around bonfire waiting for the sign to reappear
>kill all phantoms
>host refuses to fight or defend themselves, rolls repeatedly in circles desperately tagging signs
>every time they're rollcaught, they panicroll and chug
>this continues until they run out of estus
>even when every single roll is punished one after another, they don't change their roll timing or try anything different, they just perform the exact same action with the exact same timing on autopilot until they die
And then an invite to a steamgroup.
It gets boring after a while because it feels like you're playing against goddamn bots. There's no reaction or response, just mindless, automatic repetition and some vague prayer that enough bodies thrown against their intruder will magically restore homeostasis to their gameworld without costing them 1 precious ember or demanding they actually play. I can almost hear the chorus of autistic screeching through every invasion.

Neither, you need both for different circumstances.

Chikage will do more damage across a full stamina bar of R1s. Its benefits are mainly the fact that it's incredibly stamina efficient for its damage per hit, and extremely fast with pure R1 mashing.

Unzips are also extremely good, particularly because they generally kill players in 2 hits and have really good range.

Bloodletter has that incredibly strong dash attack as well as its L2. Generally better moveset but it's not going 2-shot players with any of its quick attacks.

Also the bloodletter costing a chunk of health to transform means you generally have less access to your firearm. With the Chikage, you swap modes constantly to abuse unzips, so your access to your gun isn't limited at all.

Arena=/=invasion=/=invaded
All PvP types are different

No SL meta builds are really hard to kill though, difference between 30-40 VIG is a couple of extra hits at most. Depends if your build requires those hits or not
