Tell me /dbt/: why don't you own the fastest accelerating production vehicle of the 20th century?

because
>20th century

I actually do want a big bandit, though

spokane.craigslist.org/mcy/d/1983-honda-night-hawk-650/6434051745.html

Thoughts? Are these bikes hard to maintain?

My sprocket shaft seals is leaking badly, if I keep topping up the oil will it damage the engine?

Emailed seller of this today, hopefully the reply will be:
"3000 Euromonies sounds good, let me just get the import/export paperwork ready for you"
Pray to Odin guys

not if you don't let it get low enough to foam the oil pump. How much are you adding to top it up?

Just replace the seals man

It basically pisses it out after it gets warmed up at the end of a ride. I just need it to last till the end of month when I get bucks to fix it. I don`t let it get bellow half but I am adding oil every two or three days.

wondering what you did to get it to leak. Your bike's not that old

0-60 in 2.88 seconds is quick by 21th century standards.

It's not a Bandit but an Inazuma. Standard half-faired Bandits are GSF1200S, naked Bandits are GSF1200N, and the Inazuma's are GSX1200 (sometimes also known as GSX1200W). The Inazuma's are supposed to be quicker, though, at 2.88 0-60 as opposed to 2.97 for the Bandits.

Bikes should be measured by 0-100

I wasn`t paid to due to a HR fuck up, when I was out with a broken leg. I will get double pay at the end of the month.

It had 111,000ks on the clock and the previous own crashed and died on it.

I will concede that does look better.
The red looks better in person.
I got a little lucky with mine. It was in awesome condition for it's age, and I've had no real problems from it, and for only $1500, was totally doable.
Heaviest bike I've ever owned tho, but it's still quick and so comfy.

>Cursed bike
You better replace that seal and windshield on credit, or you might be next.

Acceleration should be measured as 0-100KPH and 1/4 mile. 2.88/11.3 and 2.97/11.6 for the Inazuma and Bandit, respectively, which is impressive by modern standards. 99.9% of road cars can't compete.

Yeah, they're supposed to be built like tanks.
Was going to buy her for 2500 EUR, but then she didn't start. We bypassed all the usual electronic nannies, fired right up, talked the guy down to 2000EUR, and he even drove it to my home.
Turned out to be the clutch switch, which my mechanic soldered. Full service was 500 EUR including tires, so I've now got a completely looked over cannon of a bike for 2500 EUR total.
Coming from a 125cc A1 bike: I get your feeling on how it's heavy. I can't even lift my own bike anymore, feels bad man. Still, it feels lighter and quicker than the watercooled 600cc learner bikes I had in the meantime.

The Skid Daemon already tried...

>It's not a Bandit but an Inazuma
Yah I know. Inazuma didn't come here.
>0-60 in ...
Don't get hooked on those kind of numbers. When you are talking about less than a tenth of a second, those standings could reverse because of a run on a warmer or cooler day, better/different tires, and especially who was riding. Remember the original Vmax? In 1986, Jay Gleeson did a 9-second quarter mile on one, first production bike to break into the nines. Yamaha advertised it heavily and sold lots of bikes. Thing was, no one else could get into the nines on one, before or since. The Eighties Vmax is a ten-second bike, but Gleeson's sub-ten run is quoted everywhere and it's the "First production bike in the nines!"

Guy I got it from was in the middle of nowhere colorado 2hrs from me, hence the truck. Ended up driving it back through a huge snow storm.
Didn't really need anything but basic maintenance. Only thing it needs right now is a valve adjustment and a new chain/sprocket. I'm just too lazy and I ride it less often since I have the other two now.
I can still pick the bitch up easy enough tho, but I'm a bigger guy, so maybe it's just leverage.

>When you are talking about less than a tenth of a second
0.02 seconds faster than the RF900 and Fireblade 900 actually. I'm well aware that it's probably a fluke test that got published for my bike:
motorradonline.de/test/test-suzuki-gsx-1200-inazuma.106572.html

But hey, bragging rights are bragging rights. I know my bike has no topend, so the 1/4 mile is pretty bad compared to the 0-60 time. So what do you do at that point? You only tell the normies the good stuff, and tell them to hop on the back if they dare. They usually don't, and if they do, 8K RPM is usually plenty to give them the illusion that they're riding shotgun on a missile. Hell, I feel that way sometimes when I open her up.

...

>dead man's bike

Spoopy.

>will it damage the engine?

Only if you run out of oil obviously. The question here is if Triumph was retarded or not when designing that seal.

Some seals (such as the output shaft seal on my CBR600F) have a lip on the inside part that prevents them being pulled out and installed without having the entire fucking engine taken apart. A very expensive job for a 10 dollar seal. In the opposite case however, it would just be a seal that is press-fit on the gear shaft. You could put some screws on this seal, pull it out, and hammer a new one in with no probs.

You can however nigger rig your shaft seal. You can put some gasket maker on the seal and see if that holds oil. If you want to be extra pro about it, drain the oil, clean the shaft, put gasket maker, wait a day, put oil back in. There's a good chance it might work.

It's not available here. :(
I do own a fast accelerating vehicle but it's not as fun as my second fastest accelerating vehicle.

>Only thing it needs right now is a valve adjustment and a new chain/sprocket.
Same here, but I won't need those untill next year.
After that it's either keeping it stock, or going full retard with a new exhaust, custom shocks, tidying up the mirrors and blinkers - but that would cost more than half of what the bike is worth. Maybe if I've got a fulltime job by then.

>but I'm a bigger guy
4u

Which user are u

youtube.com/watch?v=-DSy2c1ULik

If I don't sell it, I'm stripping some things off, and putting dirt-ish tires on it.
It's already got a custom exhaust as the insides exploded to the outside when I was on the freeway one time. Now it's just a pipe and loud as fuck. Got a webm somewhere, might up load it.
But if you don't plan on selling yours any time soon, I'd do all that. A bikes not an investment, it's enjoyment.

Also, I know, but everyone complains about how heavy it is, and I really haven't had trouble moving it around or picking it up the couple times I dropped it.

>she tightened my fork internals and brake calipers

Will death finally come and visit me?

Dude doing a top end rebuild/big bore kit, stainless steel valves arrive some time today, just waiting on that to rebuild the head/hotcams, big bore kit in a week-ish.

Also new tires

>pink

It's bold, I like it.

Thanks team

>A bikes not an investment, it's enjoyment.
Why invest in new shocks, exhaust and such when I might sell the bike by then anyways? We'll see by that time. On the other hand, it'll be worth way less than 2K by that time, and if I've got some disposable income, there's some serious options on the table:

mrturbo.com/turbo-sys/suzuki/bandit/bandit.html
proboost.fi/motorcycle-turbo-kits

Having owned an XJ650 Turbo with 95hp, I wonder how 200+ on a more modern turbobike feels like.

where are you from?
is it easy/cheap to import bikes there?

I've got a 125 with an aftermarket Scorpian exhaust and it's pretty loud

I should be wearing earplugs right?

Girl user right?
Reminds me, I really need to get some actual gear.
Did a tiny bit of not pavement and realised I I'm skiddish as fuck cause I'm worried about falling.

Well, that's why I said if you don't plan on selling it. I do, so I'm not really doing anything to it. If I wasn't, I'd have some ambitious plans.

Nice, mine has got bad crank bearings so ive gotta pull it all apart this winter

Pretty sure its gay user not girl

Early 2000's model SM? That sucks mang.

Sorry to disappoint, I have a penis.

Really thought I remembered it looking like an actual girl, not just a guy who wants to be one.
Also, that looks like a tomboys bedroom.
But I could be wrong, either way I guess it's whatever.

Anyone know what the death statistic is for a car so I can make a comparison?

>Sorry to disappoint, I have a penis.
Prove it.

Guess I was wrong.
Like I said, it's really whatever.

Kinda curious now tho, are you trying to look like a girl, or is that just how you end up looking.

>Disappoint
>Penis
Pick one.

Also, this is why I was mistaken.
This is my little sister.
She's gotten a bit more feminine lately, but she still pretty much looks like this when she rides.

Cross dressing is fun!

Good man

Could never pull it off myself, so I'd never try.
I am into it, but 4chans not the place to try to get some.

I've done it three times through /b/, only one time was it a good thing.

I met my first bf on Veeky Forums, had a good long relationship of 5 years. Broke up due to distance but still very close friends. Veeky Forums can be good sometimes.

Norway trying to import from Sweden.
It's easy if all the paperwork is there, especially for 35+y/o bikes. As you don't have to take displacement, emissions and original retail price into account.
>Get to border
>Declare item
>Pay small import fee of $100~
>Go to tax/tolloffice
>Show bill of sale (w/receipt) and pay 25% of value in tax
Reeeeeeeeeee
>Go to DMW
>Show TUV, bill of sale, receipt, CoC, toll/import documents and old registration
>Wait 2 weeks approximately
>Get License plate number
>Get insurance as bike has now been added to national registry
>Go to DMW and get plate and 2-part paper registration for a small fee of $15

Nice dubs. Got more lewds somewhere else?

Don't get me wrong, sometimes it works out.
The one time it worked out was great, we're still really good friends.
He/she turned out to be an escort, I was like I'm not paying, so she said we could just hang out. So we did, and it's a great friendship.

Nop, I've thought about it but I don't take enough to warrent it.

(thats just an excuse the real reason is I'm a chubby who knows how to take good photos with flattering angles)

Interesting way of meeting, sounds fun though.

On a different note, been using brake cleaner for about 30 mins and my head feels weird. Maybe I'm dying lol

So I'm getting a first bike that I can call mine(rode some shitty farm scooters back in the day). Local dealer just got a CBR300 with 7000 miles for $3500 USD.
Only problem I have is there are some unused ones for $3700 all around the country(except for the mid West where I live. No coast is the worst coast.) Should I just take it and run or am I getting ripped if I take it.

Gee, I wonder

You know the rules.
>post tits
>or gtfo

Please take the gayposting somewhere else

I don't have tits, sorry.

I will however supply boypussy with a buttplug.

Last one I promise.

If I could move all my assets to the land of no snow, beaches and competitive pricing I would.

>last one I promise.
Good

I passed my motorcycle test!

Congrats dude! Got a bike?

Congratulations
What are you riding?

yeah true
mercedes owns 25% of MV Agusta and Audi owns parts of Ducati
>the more you know

I always found the Brutale sexy af but sadly mercedes owning 25% of the company won't fix the build quality

I'm gonna get a honda rebel 500

>ride a loud sports bike
>risk dying every day
>speed often
>still fall asleep with a teddy I've had most my life
Who here /soft/?

Nice, enjoy it dude! Post lotta picks

I fell asleep last night crying into a body pillow that still had the scent of my boyfriend who spent a week here(long distance relationship) and left yesterday.

/soft/ is good, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Lol

post tits

Not the most flattering pick of you but at least it's a lewd.

...

Yeh it's not, it's honestly the only ass pic I've ever taken I feel ~okay~ about, I still have a bit to go with weight loss before I'll feel very comfortable.

...

Nohomo but I'd destroy your boipucci

>bike thread
>its full of faggots
this shit writes itself

I'm not a fag

>im not a fag

I had a 2002 XR650L that was stolen in Virginia in 2015. Renthal bars, gas tank, fmf pipe, pegs, brand new tires, re-jet carb, de smog, etc. I barely even got to ride it before it was stolen, but at least I got to take it out to southern Utah.

I just got a call from chesapeake city police saying hampton police might have recovered it and that they would call back with more information. I guess they were just trying to see if they could contact the owner before they did the work of contacting a different department.

Has anybody ever gone about getting a stolen bike recovered? It's probably all fucked up and I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but...

Post bike displacelet

Baird and AT did
Ignition will be fucked, 70% chance they spray painted it black, it will have been dropped and possibly stunted on

At least you can get it back and sell it with some repairs. You still have the title for it?

Is there such a thing as an exciting adventure bike? The 650cc single I have right now is boring me to death, I want something different. I guess pic related might come close, but they're pretty pigfat and expensive.

Yamaha Tenere 700 in 2019, or the KTM 790 Adventure in 2019. Just wait for next year's models, they'll be great

I might still have the title. I will take a look out in the garage tomorrow. If I don't am I just fucked? I bet I could find the key again at least.
I mean they have the police report obviously and have my name and phone number from that. It would be a real kick in the dick if I can't find the title and they won't release it to me. Also I live in NY now so I'd have to make arrangements for it to be picked up by one of my friends still living in Virginia.
If its totally niggerized I might just get rid of it, but I do miss it, it was a very nice bike. 5500 miles or so if I remember right.

Was going to go for a ride on my dad's SV, but the tabs are expired..buts it's a sunny Saturday
>witness me

>Caring about tags
You realize it's a Motorcycle right?

Just got back from a ride, anyone in AZ?

There's 2 anons in AZ, an r3 and an r6 both in Yuma

hey, Baird. what rider weight is the stock suspension on the 701 set up for?

yuma is like the exact opposite side of the state from me haha

>KTM 1190
>150 HP and 100+ torx
>not exciting
Stop riding a fucking KLR

>tfw your shitty xr600 beats a ducati

idk which one it was, but it was some smaller one, and I really hope he wasn't holding back, but I took off way faster than him and it was good feel.

he probably wasnt even racing lmao

yeah this

Well, he made it seem like he was playing a bit.
Passed me in traffic, then I passed him, then him again, then we were both at a stop light together.
Both of us being scum going through all the cars.

my shaft leaks badly when I see ur mom lmaoooo

hahaha omg dude nice one xD

Thanks man thought pretty hard on that one but not as hard as ur mom gets my dick lol ?!!!?!?!!!!!

...

I was gonna post some cool stuff but it's too fucking gay in here

400 and 600's are pretty slow desu.

The 600 makes what, 50hp?

Nigga...
It's Veeky Forums, it's always fucking gay in here.
Post it or don't, it's won't ever NOT be gay.
