Sent a mail to TF Team, proposed some Deadringer changes; Shorter total cloak duration, slow accelerating speed after feign (inversely proportional with its decaying damage mitigation bonus of 3 seconds), extra drain rate on decloak, louder decloak noise upon exhaust. Ammo pack replenish stays, but another item; Spycicle doesn't allow cloak refill once it melted away. That emphasizes new YER and 'cicle to be best pairs with CnD and none other. Did I do gud /tf2g/? Is it even worth mailing them after their fuck up?

I think movement speed is fine, what fucked up is too high initial hit resistance. I think it should be nerfed quite abit, either equal to cloak's first second (65%) or even lower (50-55%) or so.

Spy already runs at medic speed, why does he need to run at higher than scout speed to get away when he inevitably fucks up as well? Especially when you consider there's also a speed boost on kill on the big earner.

The main problem with the current DR design is that it rewards you for messing up. Spy is supposed to stealthily infiltrate the enemy's lines, then go for a key pick when everyone is distacted by his team mates. The DR rewards you not being stealthy at all and just give you free speed boost and damage resist because lol why not? No one actually falls for the feigned death outside of fresh installs, either. The entire concept was a mistake.

That's why speed boost needs a slight nerf, but still shouldn't fiddle with Spy's survival. Speed boost also serves about funnelling them back to ammo pack spawns. 107% to 144% in 3 seconds mean like their effective plain 144% speed buff cut down by half. That makes him easier to be pinned down if enemy didn't buy his trick, that will force Spy to act like a teammate to get away.
If it can be nerfed throughly it can be a good tool for acting like a doppelganger for your Demoman or Medic. That's what I'm aiming at, to be honest. As of now, it's predictable and manageable but still abit strong without proper tools to mark him. If IW or CnD are gentle keys for stealth then DR is a bruteforce.

Cloak should begin draining when the DR is pulled out, rather than when it's activated. Damage resistance should scale with remaining cloak. Speed boost and Afterburn immunity only while cloak >=60%. Decloak noise is louder the less cloak you have.
whipping out the DR after every action like you're stabby will give you a weaker feign, but using it re-actively or reading the enemy's attacks will give you a greater reward

spy is not a survival class, its a pick class if a spy cant utilize the invis watch or cnd and has to rely on crutches like the dead ringer then he should just switch to a class in which he wont fail, or get better with the other watches spy was not meant to be a simple or an easy class
