Yep. The Mauler line actually has LRM friendly quirks, but the -1R is the oddball of the lot. The others can give you cooldown/spread/velocity, while the -1R only gets lower missile heat and cooldown.

I mean, if you're gonna run a potato assault lurmboat, Maulers are about the best you can do with the worst, but wasting 90 tons on nothing but LRMs makes me sad.

Legit, if you're looking to use ATMs you want to have at least paired ATM6s or 9s, and you will need an actual back up weapons (i.e. ERML/MPL). ATMs will require you to play somewhat aggressively, but as long as you can keep inside the 120-500ish range you can punish anyone you lock onto.
