Cheap, fuel injected, ABS, powerful enough but not fast, rumored to be reliable and last up to 500k miles. Horizontal inline 3 cylinder with longitudinal single plate clutch and transmission (like a car) leading to a driveshaft to the rear wheel. ~60hp.

I bought one because of the above but mainly because from the rear, the taillight design and color combo reminded me of an E36 M3 in estoril blue. Also, I street park in a city and needed something cheap enough I wouldn't care if it got hit.

Pic isn't mine, but it's the same color.

...Neil?

Wow. What's the starting salary for a Patent Examiner? Someone at the patent office was trying to get me to apply for one of those jobs, but clearly failed to mention the salary.

My Toyobaru got written off a couple months back, so I'm considering snapping up another one or getting something a little nicer. Been test-driving some Cadillacs and Mazdas, and am leaning toward the Mazda. Gonna try out a WRX as well.

Starting salary is 54k for somebody fresh out of college with a STEM or graphic design degree. But the salaries aren't the key selling point of working for the USPTO. The biggest gem is the ability to work from home full time from anywhere in the US after 2 years in office.

Depends. The official rate is that the euro is worth about $1.10.

But go to a US McDonald and a Big Mac with fries and a drink is $6.00.

The EXACT same meal in Denmark is €20.00.

The amazing thing about McDonald’s is the food is the same in every country around the world so it’s easy to compare currency.

Your government quite literally take most dollars over $50k earned and gives it to others or spends it. Who is paying for Muhammad and his many sons? Who pays all those Turks who own kebab restarsunts nobody eats at?

Who funds all those stupid EU programs?

Why, you do my friend.

Notice the people making 100+ are driving cheap beaters and those making ~50 are trying to look rich.

I'm waiting to graduate and move outta here. People with similar skill sets as mine are making $120k/yr outside the Silicon Valley.

You are probably living better than those people because housing prices are insane.

It’s not really that clean cut.

In my part of socal you have rich white and Asian people... white people sometimes spring for the luxury car while Asians are usually more okay with a 5 year old camry but it can be an even split at times.

In general though, rich people do buy lots of luxury cars man. Tesla/bmw is everywhere here. Occasionally rather than always there’s Porsche... so there’s some level of frugality but overall a lot of luxury.
