About the world thing in Sherlock's quest, to me at least it felt more like the counter force is the one who forced him into Ruler Class rather than him having a contract with it. Basically I think his detective skills dangerous enough for humanity to be countered.

I can see him finding a way to cast away the Ruler restraints and become a beast that seeks to unravel every mystery in the world, though.
