When you patch an MV game, the patcher gives instructions on the screen that says the patch was successful that tell you what to do. It tells you what to do for different translators and you just follow the instructions for whichever program you're using between VNR, TA, etc.

Where do you think RPG Maker got the idea?

I think when you first play the series it's good. After that it's meh because gameplay-wise if you've played one then you've played them all and they aren't really special story-wise either.
