I got something quite interesting recently. It's a wrecked Lamborghini Murcielago for only $1200. Just a frame but I think I can salvage some parts out of it or maybe even turn it into a track car if the frame is intact enough.

Can Veeky Forums help me find the history of the car though and how it ended up this way? The VIN is ZHWBU37S88LA02668 but the seller says he just bought it from an insurance salvage yard and doesn't know its prior history either.

Also I did google the VIN and oddly enough it shows it originally being sold as well before it got wrecked. What a shame, it used to be beautiful.

even if the frame is able to be used, you'd be spending multitudes more than its worth to get that into a drive-able condition

Would be """ALOT""" of time, money and effort to get this repaired to even track condition. If the frame isn't completely fisted out of square, Might be doable if your autistic enough.

thats amazing

turn it into a badass frankinstines track car
buy any parts that will fit and keep adding stuff till it works

Why does Lambo paint look so trash all the time?

Because only gaudy Arabs, retards, and 13 year olds like modern Lamborghinis.

that looks like london
i might have seen that car in person before

One of my dreams is to do this same type of thing. Total frankencar.

Put a Fiero body kit on it.

That's Chicago.

>US flag in the background
>US style street signs
>fire hydrants

bump for vin check

Where would you even get parts for it? This is a pipe dream

Madman.

I'm pretty sure a Murcielago isn't exactly modern.

More modern than the Miura.

It's junk but it was cheap. You could integrate stock car parts with what's left to make the shell usable AFTER figuring out what it would take to do the external body parts as you want them.. Forget turning it back into a Lambo. It's not exotic enough to be worth paying more than a good runner is worth.

Alternate option, scour Copart and other volume salvage auctioneers for a Lambo donor that's smashed but not stripped. You can have the whole body stripped to bare metal by dipping.

Buy a copy of Hemmings Motor News or better yet, subscribe. No other periodical even comes close.

Did it come with a title? If salvage titled that at least proves ownership. Titling custom vehicles varies by state but isn't heinously difficult, and the old method of buying a destroyed vehicle with a clean Special Construction title works well but exhaustively research your options so you do it right for YOUR locale.

Could be an epic (like Odysseus voyage, it will be a long and exhausting journey) project if you have shop space, tools and skills.

Underrated

go to bed punjab

you just wasted 1200 dollars.

13 year olds have always been the main audience of lamborghini

LS swap it

>muh

what exactly do you hope to salvage from this?

>$1200 for $250 of scrap metal

Holy fuck you people. The fucking Africans wouldn't even bother fixing this heap of shit. There's literally nothing there. It's barely worth the price of scrap metal once you factor in the labour that it takes to move or break apart. This thing is beyond fucked.

no one's getting beheaded

Most things are more modern than a Miura, dipshit.

Have you ever built a car from clips? I have after learning how from my boss. When you clip a car you cut half off one donor and half off another, then weld them together. It's surprisingly common in the used car biz (and worth checking for if the car is normally expensive and the seller is offing it cheap.

It's not weekend hobbyfag territory but there aren't many real limits if you've the skill and the gear. I wouldn't do that Lambo but it is doable.

Yeah the frame isn't that badly damaged. I'll take better pictures tomorrow.

Also I was able to find remnants of the insurance documents inside. Is there any way to use this info to find out what really happened to this poor Lambo?

Hi there!

You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of Veeky Forums are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have used a tripcode when posting, but your identity has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using your tripcode when the thread it was used for is gone, unless another one is started! Posting with a tripcode when it isn't necessary is poor form. You should always try to post anonymously, unless your identity is absolutely vital to the post that you're making!

Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my job to help you get used to the anonymous image-board culture!

This this this

>It's surprisingly common in the used car biz
Sure, in Turkey. And they don't start with the charred remains of a rolled car

>what really happened to this poor Lambo?
This is what happened -
1. It was rolled in a violent crash
2. It burned to the ground
3. It was auctioned by copart
4. An exotic salvage specialist bought it
5. Every single part worth more than a few dollars was stripped from the shell
6. It was listed on ebay, the salvage operation knew it was worthless, but you never know, there may be some complete clueless dreamer that buys a worthless hunk of trash, may as well throw up that ad before tossing it in the junkyard
7. That guy appeared
8. He posted on Veeky Forums

Obviously it went up in flames. Many lambos do.

What I'd do if I was in OP situation (and had the skills to do it)

Pick up a donor car, thinking a body on frame Caprice.
Use the entire drive train, axles, suspension, some of the frame, etc to get this thing into a running vehicle.
Remake the missing body panels out of sheet metal, rivet it all on (besides the hood and shit obviously)
Plastic sheet windshield
Put the minimum interior in, a seat, the guages and shit from the Caprice.

And then you have some type of mad max zombie looking monster car

Most things are also shit

Did he died

Bumper and hood are 2 completely different colors. Really bugging me

Dude that think is fucked beyond repair!
You can't do shit to it anymore, look at the roof!
Everything is bended and was heated up, so that thing is fucked.
Even if you would be able to fix the roof (without the metal breaking off), you would always be in danger because the metal was bended and heated up and bended, so it's not stable anymore!
And even, even if the frame would be perfect, well then you would have to still spend at least 40 grand to cheaply restore it, or at least 20 grand to built some kind of cringe zombie car.
And as said before that frame is bended and broken, so even if you would restore it to be a Lamborghini again (would cost you about as much as buying a used one), you would not be able to drive it properly, because the car would pull to the left or to the right, and it would just collapse in a small accident!

That thing is dead, stop thinking like a child!
