I just love sports cars from the 80s, especially the ones that have a look like the Porsche 944, Toyota Supra mk 3, Mazda RX-7 FC etc.
What cars do you like?

80s cars in general are pretty cool, but 80-90s JDM and 65-73 american muscle are GOAT imo

Honestly, GM had good muscle through the 70s and 80s and the foxbodies are cool, but i think the japs really had some great stuff in the 80s, but they really went crazy in the 90s

Pic related is my '87 RX7

928 is the best 80s porsche.

No picture on this device but i've always hard a soft spot for the Mitsubishi Starion.

I just like cars, man. Anything from cute, basic, cheap shitboxes to stupidly fast wagons to comfy landbarges to mad engineering marvels to just plain weird, quirky shit.

5th gen Honda Civic, with a few simple mods.

Don't forget german 80s (E30, 944 etc)

You clearly haven't driven any other 80's porsche, or you've never driven a 928.
The 928 is actually the worst 80's porsche.
The best is the 911, followed by the 944, then obvious the 924 then dead last the 928.

I unironically like the corvette GS

t. S/o/viet

The Pretty Woman Lotus Esprit (x180)

...

Sure, it might be slow, poorly built, and get bad gas mileage, but somehow or another it looks sexy to my eyes.

ugliest slop of shit

>slow, poorly built

Been tossing around the idea of getting a cheap 924 for a daily considering it uses VW/Audi parts, anybody have experience?

my dad had a 924 and I've always had a special place in my heart for this gen of sports cars
>minimal electronic aids
>analog gauges everywhere
>Sleek styling (for the era) and pop-up headlights

Don't be fooled into thinking that because it has some Audi/VW parts, they will be cheaper or easier to find. It's still a 30 year old car with 30 year old parts and 30 year old reliability. They aren't being scrapped anymore, and certain parts failing will mean the car sitting in the garage maybe for months on end until you get hold of it.

I've known a couple of owners along the years, and although they kept them running in excellent condition, they never would have dreamed of DD'ing them.

It looks sexy af though.

...

>sitting in the garage maybe for months on end
>months
Lol.
Try years mate.
I've got a 30 year old sports car that has sat in my garage for 5 years now inoperable.
And my 35 year old Porsche has sat over a year inoperable. It's inop right now, and has been for a month or so, but not because of parts, but because of weather. I need to do major removals to get at the parts that need replacing, and it's a multiday thing. Which really doesn't work when it's winter.

the best part about the 80's was that dipshits like you weren't born yet

>I've got a 30 year old sports car that has sat in my garage for 5 years now inoperable.

That is fucked up. My sympathies user.

>One of only 259 cars ever made with its fuel system
The pain is real

60's and 70's cars are my favorite. Honestly never liked 80's cars, only decade I generally dislike when it comes to cars.

I love 80s cars
>and I will post the same pictures of my car I always post

i like 90's, beginning of aerodynamic era, though i completely understand your love for 80's rectangles. golf mk1 gti, lancia delta, f40, those things look amazing

one day i'll have my very own fd, with all of the rounded edges it has

I love my 944. It's the little things... streamable.com/5z993

call me a redneck cousin fucker but i unironically like third gen f bodies

...

I was mostly talking my personal opinion. But my bad

I've dailied a 924 for five years.
You need to be able to weld and you need to be willing to cut corners with repairs.

They're also slow and you will get cucked by even econobox hatchbacks.

Girls don't like it.

>girls dont like it

The Testarossa is my favorite car of all time

They rather flock to Chad with his 17-plate golf with big speakers in the back and rimz.

h-ha look it's my car except 1-3 years newer and not a rusting pile

...

Supra mk2 > mk3

factually incorrect, on all fronts. the 944 and 924 are woefully underpowered "sports" cars. the 911 is a venerable good car though.

the 928 has fuckugly headlights, but is easily one of the most comfy, and has one of the vest v8 engines ever made.

wakkinshaw vl a best

My car is one of pic related. I think it looks pretty 80s.

That only costs $3k
Or $6k dollarydoos for Aussie

My next door neighbour has a VL Walkinshaw. Not sure if it's a real one or replica but it's definitely a beast. Makes my E34 M5 look like a Mazda.

Dude couple driveways up from me has one, but the silly cunt has made whatever modifications he has made resulted in needing to bump start it. It has a battery, but also carb'd, as I've seen the carbs and someone bringing down jumper cables for him when it failed to start.

I've only ever seen theirs drive once. When they moved in and never touched it since. Never even heard it rev.

>tfw not owning an e30

Take out a loan and buy one now while they're still ~$20k. Mark my fucking word by the time you make enough money to buy one at today's prices, it'll be ~$60k for one with 200,000 miles.

Good to know mine isn't the only one with a fat fucking gap between the wheels and the fenders, I need some 1" spacers.

Your car is ugly, awful paint job and awful pep boy "rimbs" border jumper

i think i'll be able to save it up in next two years, shouldn't get much more expensive by then. fortunately people are afraid of doritos, so prices will probably never go batshit crazy like supra mk4

>shouldn't get much more expensive by then

A friend of mine said this about Escort Cosworths in about 2003 or so. He had a chance at one for £4500 and passed on it. That same car sold two months ago for £57,000.

This except unironically and 4th gen

please stop I need the price to stay down so I can save for one

It's not my car, just the same model.

3rd gen prelude is by far the sexiest Honda. Tied with NSX. Is yours a 4WS?

Unfortunately no. Fortunately, it was only $1100 and it would've been a hell of a lot more with 4WS.
Pic related is a shitty picture of mine. Has a couple of dents, a chipping paint job, and bubbling tint that the previous owner put on. I'm working on getting all of those things fixed though.
