Learn on something lightweight, low-powered, limited-slip, and short-wheelbase like an MX-5 or HachiRoku. See if you can grow the balls to do it well, then move up to something longer-wheelbase and with more power.

Imagine how cool it would be to drift a fucking LTD when everyone is drifting gay ass Nissans that look the same.
the best drift car is the one you have to do the least to, its a general rule with most track cars or really anything that takes a lot of abuse.
Fiat 500 Pop edition. The short wheel base and FWD is great for mad skidz
Don't buy a brand new car for drifting, the likelyhood of you trashing it within a month is quite high.
>a base-tier 315
>classic
>implying any real classic bimmers would sell for 3000, let alone 300
4th Gen camaro.
Lots of power, lots of cheap aftermarket.
Anything you want to do is well documented and easily to find parts for.
Easy to work on.
Powerful, RWD, manual transmission, durable, reliable.

Mustang Is Always The Answer.
specifically a Fox Body.
eyy Im friends with all 3 of those drivers. Kip in the miata, Andrew in the S14 and Tom in the 13. Where did you get the pic?
Also to answer OPs question the best starter drift chassis is a 350z/g35. All they need is coilovers and a welded dif. Power is adequate, aftermarket is there for upgrading as your skills improve. In stock form they are pretty bulletproof and they are relatively cheap for what you're getting. A decent manual trans Z goes for 6-8 grand which would get you a ragged out 240. You can buy a clapped out manual Z in the 3-4k range if you don't mind fixing a few things.
what about a tuktuk drifter?
$8K Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo with some simple mods
never late in a 3.8
I think I got it from Veeky Forums judging by the file name. Pretty cool tho.
